Hm.
What was it?
The question was as light as air, and once Daiyu blinked, all her surfacing thoughts soon faded. Pursing her lips, Daiyu shook her head lightly before stretching out her arms. Since she was here, why not try the six-claws dragon technique. How different would it be from her past life? Gently pus.h.i.+ng her body to her feet, Daiyu sighed as she positioned herself correctly in place.
With a quick step, she launched her body forward and aimed her right leg upwards with both of her arms out on either side of her. Rapidly, while with her right leg in the air, Daiyu spun herself to the side with the force of the momentum and retracted her leg back to her body. With the other hand, she smacked the stone wall and sent herself flying backward away from the wall. From the exertion, Daiyu found her body flying swiftly to the other end of the cave with her left foot digging into the dirt.
Extending both of her arms quickly to either side of her body, Daiyu's right outstretched fingers came lightly in contact with the damp wall as she forced herself to decrease in speed within the air.
All the moves were smoothly executed almost like a b.u.t.terfly in its dance as Daiyu's white robes flutter gracefully around her body in the air.
Coming to a complete stop, Daiyu turned her right arm back behind her to aim a palm strike into the empty air. The entire wall behind her shook lightly before splitting apart to reveal a small hole within the stone wall.
Hearing the sound of falling debris, Daiyu couldn't help but feel a slight disappointment with the small amount of damage done. Still, she collected her energy within her palms to pacified her raging vitality before she closed her eyes. With a quick circulation of essence running throughout her body, Daiyu ascertained herself and stood up. Her movements were done both slow and calculated. Without another word, she marched out of the cave with her white sleeves flapping behind her.
After she left, the stone wall suddenly collapsed, and a slight tremor could be felt throughout the dirt ground shaking the entire earth.
************
"Senior sister, where did you go?"
Daiyu turned her head slowly and found herself staring at a pet.i.te girl also dressed in similar robes, who eyed at her strangely with a trace of ridicule. The face didn't seem to be someone Daiyu placed any importance on so she gave no answer and continued her way to her room.
Today had been fruitless, and Daiyu felt much unsettled.
"Senior sister!" The voice seemed to gain a sense of confidence at her reaction and became bolder in expressing itself. The girl behind her gave a prideful glaze of superiority while holding her ground.
Daiyu paused, her white shoes coming to a complete stop. Her hair fluttered freely behind her, and her robes seemed to flow uncontrollably in the air. It was only for a moment, and Daiyu calmly continued on her way. The girl's face immediately contorted in hate, and it seemed to be like she was more than just angered by Daiyu's actions.
"You! You stop there for me! How dare you ignore me?!" She hollered loudly. Her voice echoed throughout the sect's central hall courtyard.
With the loud outcry, it wasn't long before a crowd of disciples slowly gathered around the two females. The youngsters were still in the prime of their age and were more than eager to see a fight especially when a talented martial sister like Daiyu would be involved in. Daiyu's eyes suddenly flashed at the sudden gathering. Although she cared little about being called out in such a disorderly fas.h.i.+on, the increasing amount of people seemed to remind her of something unsettling in her heart. It strangely felt like something Daiyu found herself not being able to tolerate.
Her breath quickened, and her eyes became dark.
The feeling.
Helpless.
Danger.
"What do you call me?" Daiyu's voice was light in the air yet heavy to the heart. Her simple question seemed to stun the other girl.
"What?" The bewildered girl seemed to muttered confusedly, her eyes quickly glanced around.
"What do you call me?" Daiyu's voice repeated; she seemed to be oddly calm. This brought significant discomfort to the gathering group of witnesses for some reason.
The other girl still seemed slow to catch on, and she answered with a trembling voice, "Senior...sister."
Daiyu nodded, her head slightly moving and she clicked her tongue. Her eyes fixed on the girl before her intensely, and she smiled, "Oh? Is that so? With the way you were shouting about, I thought you forgot. It's good to know your place."
