He made his way towards the vine that could take him down. He turned around and gave Erina one last look. She was crying pretty heavily. He wanted to comfort her but he knew better to mess with a chick who could snap his spine but just looking at him weirdly.

Wherever he went death followed. That was the cardinal rule he learned that day. He would only look out for numero uno.

He slid down the vine. As soon as he touched the ground a new quest appeared. Quest: Reach the town of Argoon.

He never did get information on mining. It might have been a good starting point to make some money at least. He remembered his Diff points he received and went through possible new skills he could get. A skill did stand out to him. Instant reaction. This ability allowed him to see minute amounts of movement in a muscle which allowed him to predict how an attack would be made. The irony was it cost exactly five points. This will hopefully give him an extreme edge in battle

His water bottle was destroyed, he didn't even use the b.u.g.g.e.r, but now he had a small roll of leather. He made a bunch of new twine. He used his axe to cut sizable pieces of leather and used his axe to punch holes in key areas. These holes were used as threading points. He made himself something akin to a kilt and a leather water bottle. He still remembered where the water spout was and collected himself some after he drank a lot of it.

Well, at least he was wearing something a h.e.l.l of a lot more robust than a dress made of…a leaf.

He had to make another improvised cork for the leather water bottle. He was starting to feel slightly more human.

He got a heads up display into which direction he needed to walk/ He was thankful for the Diff's guidance system. He gave one last look towards the floating rock and left.

Truth be told he hasn't even mourned the loss of his best friend, but by now he has experienced a loss so many times he was actually desensitized by the feeling of loss. It made him sad and a bit appreciative because it allowed him to become more aware. The Nora lesson was a good learning experience. Never trust anyone. Everyone is an enemy until proven otherwise.

Now his next step was to hunt…something. Anything, well at least within reason. He really didn't want to tango with a wyvern any time soon. Nor that big nasty beast he met during his first outing. Even though the arrows pointed into a different direction Radley was still trying to find something he might be able to kill. After a while, he heard some scuffling in the undergrowth, but what popped out was some sort of glowing toad thing. Its level wasn't even being registered. Radley pouted and moved on, but frogs usually is a sign of water. So he stopped and went towards the opposite direction the frog came from.

He followed it only to find a nasty mess of a bog. He clicked his tongue. No way was he wading through that. He turned to try and find the arrow. The arrow pointed off to the left of the bog. He considered it for a second then decided against it. He was going to backtrack. He was back on the road which he was originally walking at the same time he was going through a popup menu which happened to contain a bar with three question marks, "Diff, what is this?"

"That system is currently offline. Conditions not met."

"I am well aware that conditions aren't met, but can you give me something."

"Negative."

Radley shook his head, "What's the point of having a system as…useless as you?"

There was no reply.

An odd noise came from his back. Radley dropped to the ground to ascertain where it was coming from.

Sus Scrofa Raptor

When he figured it out he flowed the noise. It took him through some odd-looking berry bush. It was almost like the berries were small little stars that glowed faintly. When he was through he came face to face with something that looked like a cross between a wild boar and a dinosaur raptor. Radley checked its name: Sus Scrofa Raptor, level 2. Temperamental nature.

This was perfect. This was exactly what he wanted. The beast spotted him and screamed really loudly. Radley had to cover his ears to lessen the noise. The creature started to charge him down. Thanks to his instant reaction ability he was easily able to avoid the first pounce. Not so much the second one. It head-b.u.t.ted Radley in the back sending him cras.h.i.+ng into a close-by tree. It hurt, it hurt badly. Half his life was missing. Fighting level two with barely anything was probably not the smartest thing to do. So much for his instant dodge, useless if you can't actually see your target. He quickly removed his axe and got ready for a fight.

This time he recovered and always tried keeping an eye on the beast. He kept dodging. The creature was way faster than he expected. The creature made another screech. Again, it disoriented Radley. The creature made another charge but instead of dodging he decided to strike down on its head. The creature ate dirt as soon as the axe connected, but it seemed the beast was barely fazed. Radley followed up with quick rapid strikes the creature's abdomen. This time the creature felt it. Radley followed up with a twisting jump to get the most out of his attack and slammed it into the creature's neck. The axe head broke free from the wood, but Radley kept bas.h.i.+ng onto the axe head lodging it deeper into the creature.

It didn't take long for the creature to make a nasty gurgling noise as it fell to the ground. A popup came up Gained 450 Invo points. 2 Diff points.

Holy c.r.a.p! 450!!! That's an insane amount. So combat was the best way to level up, but was it really worth it? That was a lot of effort with a lot of damage.

More odd noises went off around Radley. c.r.a.p…there were more.
