Emily then went upstairs and changed up. She then lay on the couch in the living room, lost in her day dreams. Her mom placed a tray of light snacks on the table in front of the couch. "Who are you thinking of?" Alicia laughed. "Huh? Me? Ah, no… I was actually thinking about the incident today… It's not as easy to explain." Emily sighed, grabbing a slice of bread from the tray as told the entire story, while munching on her bread in between. When Emily was finished speaking, her mom was actually beaming with happiness and pride. When she saw Emily's absent minded expression, she asked, "Why the long face? You beat him up really well!"
Emily cracked a smile, "I definitely did! But… My image is deteriorated. Even if it isn't, it will soon." Alicia did not try to probe further into the details. "If you need to share anything with me, I am always here." She twinkled and went to wash the dishes.
It was almost the weekend, Emily was quite relieved as she could finally rest for two days. But, she also had to go to the gym, do homework and go to college from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the official practice. Ugh! Thinking about all these work load on her shoulders, she felt dizzy. So she won't be having a relaxing weekend after all.
Oh wait, she also have to register Chris for the gym, teach him to drive and help Aiden with his drawing. Her mind was about to explode. Could it get any worse?! Looks like she would have adopt a cautious approach with her schedule, and not waste a single minute on extra stuff, which included locking horns with Ivy, which was very likely to happen in the future.
She just lay on the couch for an entire hour, trying to sort out her schedule, at least for the weekend. The doorbell rang, probably it was Chris. Emily lazily dragged herself towards the door, as soon as she unlocked it Chris pushed her and rushed in with another boy.
"Hey! What the h.e.l.l!" Emily wailed. The other boy that came along with Chris stopped in front of Emily and bowed slightly, "I apologize for such a behavior on Chris's behalf. Please accept my apology." Chris who was almost gone nuts froze in his spot, while Emily awkwardly stared at the youngster in front of her.
She snapped back into her senses and casually replied, "Oh, no problem at all. You don't have to apologize! It's just a routine." She then glared at Chris as he pretended to ignore her and whistled. "Please sit." Emily then invited the boy inside and he sat on the couch. "Please wait while I bring something for you to eat. Mom just went to do the launder, she'll be back soon." He then sat down trying to politely reject her offer, "Oh, no, sis! Please don't burden yourself, I am just here to play with Chris."
Emily nodded and sat in front of him, "Oh, I am sorry. Let me introduce myself. I am Emily, Chris's elder sister."
"Oh! So you are Emily. I am Cornelius, Chris's best friend and Cyril's younger brother. My brother really praises you!" Cornelius replied. Emily was quite flattered.
Hmm… So he is Cyril's little brother. How charming and disciplined. Unlike my brother. Emily frowned at the sight of Chris, frozen at his spot with his mouth agape.
Is he even a boy?! He is acting so mature, even gossiping with my sister, just like two women chattering, who met each other in the middle of a grocery store. Chris thought, sighing deeply.
"Didn't you have another best friend? Did you dump him?" Emily sneered at Chris, as he replied coldly, "No, not at all! He left high school and moved to another city quite a while ago." Cornelius excused himself saying, "Sis, I shall be going with Chris to his room. Sorry for the trouble." As soon as he got up, Chris pretended to gag, "Ugh! Cornelius, you are too mature for your age!" Emily chortled.
Alicia had done the laundry so she sent Emily upstairs saying that she would make some snacks for the boys. When the thoughts of her busy weekend flooded her mind, she quickly started to complete her homework to get rid of it as soon as possible. At the same time setting an alarm for 6 p.m. to go to the gym.
She had hardly done half of it until her alarm began to ring. She got ready and sent a message to Aiden saying that she will be at the gym in some time. He then replied by sending a single red heart emoji.
Say what?!
"Aaah! Emily I am so sorry! I wanted to send the thumbs up emoji, but mistakenly sent this by mistake, actually I was just walking towards the gym, so that's why." Aiden then quickly replied within ten seconds. Emily laughed, sighing in rea.s.surance.
As soon as she was about to leave, Chris called from above, "Hey, Emily! You traitor! Don't say that you forgot your promise, you have to sign me up. Cornelius is going home on his bicycle now anyways." Emily the s.p.a.ce between her eyebrows. "Hurry up! You have only one minute."
Exactly at the sixtieth second, Chris was ready and waved Cornelius farewell. Emily also informed her mom about it. Thus, the two of them reached the gym without saying a word to each other. When Emily was opening the door of the gym she only said one word to Chris with an icy tone, "Behave."
