"Hey, Jackson, isn't she that cutie you b.u.mped into earlier." Kevin, Jackson's friend, nudged his arm. Jackson turned around and recognized her bright ginger hair tied into a ponytail. "Hmm.. You're right. That's really her." "Ooh la la... She sure is stunning. Just check he-" Kevin couldn't continue as Jackson punched his arm, "Oh, shut up! You pervert." Jackson seemed upset by what he said. "Bro, you just knocked into her once and you're already protecting her like she's your gir-" Kevin howled in pain as he received another punch from Jackson.
"Why do I have such degenerate friends? For once, can't I have some decent buddies? Is that too much to ask for?" Jackson sighed in grief. "Okay, okay! I'll shut up." Kevin scowled.
The teacher entered the cla.s.s and greeted everyone. She started delivering her lecture in a bright and lively way, which Linda really enjoyed. Today's lesson was about cloth materials. She would talk about her own experiences and views about different topics regarding picking the best cloth etc. Linda scribbled away, to write down as much information as she could. She was determined to be the brightest student.
When she finished attending three cla.s.ses, she went to the canteen during her break. Strange how none of my room mates can be seen around, I feel so lonely. Linda thought as she turned around the corner and... b.u.mped into someone... AGAIN. This time, before she could fall, the person had grabbed her by the waist. "So, we meet again." Jackson chuckled as he helped Linda stand up straight. "This time it was truly my mistake, please forgive me." "Ah, don't worry it isn't a big deal." Linda waved her hands, shaking her head.
"Are you heading to the canteen?" Jackson asked. "Yeah! I am." Linda smiled. "Mind if I join?" He asked again. "Of course, you can! Besides, I'm pretty lonely, I'll have some company." Linda agreed readily and they headed towards the canteen together.
"This man is smooth..!" Kevin popped up from behind the corner, watching Jackson walk away with Linda.
Inside the canteen, the two of them got a tray of scrumptious food and sat on the table. "So... Tell me, what brought you here?" Linda asked, breaking the ice. "Haha, my mother always wanted me to become a fas.h.i.+on designer. So I've come here to pursue her dream, which, with the pa.s.sage of time, now has become my dream as well. What about you?" Jackson asked. "I've always wanted to become a designer since my childhood. Watching Barbie movies, looking at all those pretty dresses, haha, I really wanted to make my own fas.h.i.+on line as well!" Linda stated her dreams. Jackson laughed, "How cute!"
They talked about a lot of things. Linda even told him a lot about Emily, how she was her only best friend and their memories together. Jackson also shared his childhood stories, embarra.s.sing and funny. It turned out that they had all the cla.s.ses together. In addition to that, Linda found out he was hosteled as well and had come from Russia. No wonder he was so stunning. They spent the day together, in cla.s.s and in their breaks as well. Jackson had been completely ignoring Kevin.
At the end of the day, they headed to the hostel together and parted ways when returning to their rooms. Linda was so happy. It was such a wonderful day. She had finally found some company and did not feel as lonely as she felt before. But... She would not be at ease unless she talked to Emily. She needed to find a way to talk to her. It's been a week. She couldn't text her either as she had run out of balance. Ugh... Luck was totally not on her side in this case.
She wanted to go outside to get balance for her mobile and a data package as well, so she can video call Emily. But, how? She could not wander outside the campus. Her only chance was a trip in the city, which she had no idea, when would happen. Reaching her room she found it to be empty. Perhaps the rest had not come back yet. She went for a long nap, till she woke up at midnight, finding everyone fast asleep, she fell asleep again and woke up the next day.
Another week went by, her routine would be: studying in college, talk a lot with Jackson, come back to hostel, do her homework, talk with her roommates, go for tea and then dinner until finally hitting the sack.
Weekend had arrived. She was in the balcony, admiring the view, her heart feeling unsettling, when she heard the speakers in the hallways say, "Everyone, it is to inform you that, tomorrow, Sunday morning, we shall be taking you all on a trip around the city. So make sure to be in the lobby at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Thank you." Hearing this wonderful news she, along with everyone else in the room started to cheer and dance around the room.
