"But... Aren't you guys tired?" Emily hesitated a bit. "We are, but the main purpose of camping is to learn new stuff and get along with each other. So, I think, now is the right moment. It's okay if we are tired, we will have plenty of time to rest!" Cyril replied. "Hmm... You're right. Let's go!" Emily jumped excitedly and went ahead to help her cla.s.smates.
Some of them have also completed to set their tents and also started to help one another. Ivy could not get her tent to stand up at all. Looking at her struggling, Emily bit her lip and went forward, asking, "Do you need some help?" Ivy turned to look at her. Her face stiffened. She did not want to cause a ruckus when everyone was having a good time. "I'm good." She replied while clenching her teeth. Emily rolled her eyes, shrugged and walked away without sparing a glance, "Suit yourself."
Ivy messed with the poles and could not get anywhere near the final product. Aiden and Cyril were busy helping others and Emily was the only person free and sitting casually on a log watching the rest of them. Gritting her teeth, she had no choice but to call for her help. "Emily!" She slowly called out. Emily heard her and looked at her raising an eyebrow. "I think I'll need your help." She quickly spat out waiting for her to mock her and refuse to help, but instead, she coolly walked over, grabbed the poles and started explaining her how to set it up.
Soon enough, the area was filled with brightly colored tents. Emily walked up to Aiden and Cyril who were sitting and leaning against a shady tree, who were greedily chugging down the bottle of water in their hands. Emily shook her head while chuckling, "Who told you to do everything for them?" Aiden stood up and placed his hand on her shoulder, "I have a lot of stamina. Don't worry about me, we'll see who runs out of energy first when we would be exploring these days."
Emily placed her hands on her hips, tilted her head and raised her eyebrows, "So, now you are challenging me?" Aiden shrugged smirking and looked away, "I don't know."
"Oh, you are so challenging me. And you should know, if I accept a challenge, I would dare not go against it. In fact, I'd win. For sure!" Emily started walking behind Aiden who was chortling at her reactions. "You better stop boasting! It won't be good." Aiden turned around, crossing his arms over his chest. "Huh! We'll see about that." Emily huffed.
Just then, the teacher came back with someone else walking beside her. "Everyone, look over here! This is Mr. Wilson. He is a professional camper, a hiker and a mountain climber. He will be accompanying you all during our stay. Make sure to welcome him and listen to whatever he says." The teacher said, her eyes sparkling as she occasionally glanced at Wilson, pa.s.sing a smile and blus.h.i.+ng.
"Ehhh..." Cyril rolled his eyes at the teacher and snorted.
Wilson indeed was a tall, built man with dark skin. His rough look and well toned muscles definitely made him look like someone professional in this area. "h.e.l.lo, everyone. I am Wilson and it's a pleasure to meet you." He greeted in a British accent.
Cyril's jaw dropped open, "He's British?!" He squealed under his breath. Emily and Aiden, too, were taken aback by this revelation. "Wow..." Everyone gasped. Wilson awkwardly rubbed his head and said, "Hahaha... I know, I don't look like someone from Britain."
"And I'm Ellen, nice to meet you too." The teacher, whose name turned out to be Ellen, giggled and introduced herself to Wilson. Wilson nodded uncomfortably.
"Alright, then! We have gotten permission to explore the area!" Wilson turned to the crowd and excitedly announced. They all started cheering and jumping in joy.
"We will be exploring for about an hour or two, just so that you all know the routes and get used to the surrounding. That's why, this one time, we will transverse together in a group. After we are done with that, you will be allowed to roam around by yourselves, but on two conditions. One, you will only wander in the area specified to you. Two, that you will have at least one person with you, in case something happens. Clear everyone?" Wilson narrated loud and clear.
"YES!"
"Good." Wilson smiled as he started moving towards a dirty track. "Follow me everyone!"
All of them started shuffling among themselves and followed Wilson. "Make sure to memorize the surroundings and the routes!" Aiden advised Emily and Cyril, while the three of them were treading along the rocky path.
