How am I supposed to know which games I can play the best, Emily thought. She carefully studied the list of games. Before she could do anything, the first period started as the teacher came in. "Alright everyone, time for your history test." He announced. The cla.s.s was now filled with sorrow as they prepared themselves for the test.
In recess, Emily tried to find Aiden, and Linda followed. After wandering around the whole school, Aiden was found playing basketball with his friends. Emily sat down on the bleachers and waited for the game to pause. In five minutes, the game was over. Aiden saw Emily and went towards her, waving. "Hey, Emily. Need any help?" he asked. "Well, yeah. Hope you can spare a few minutes." Emily asked with a confused and worried expression on her face. "Yeah sure, go on." he replied.
"Which games should I partic.i.p.ate in? There is a requirement of a maximum of five games." Emily informed. "That's what is making you worried?!" He laughed. "Come on. Five games are literally more than enough. Believe me." Emily couldn't help but blush. For Aiden, it wasn't a big deal. However, Emily was taking it way more seriously than one should. "Honestly, you better pick out them yourself as only you know your capabilities better than anyone." Aiden explained. Emily gave a thumbs up and went away, not truly satisfied.
"Well... Any useful advise?" Linda asked. Emily shook her head, "Uhmmm... I am not saying that there wasn't any useful advise, but I think that he was trying to say that I should be confident in myself and my abilities." Linda slapped her shoulder and exclaimed, "Good girl!" Emily smiled put the forum away. "Hey, you not gonna fill the last part?" Linda asked in a surprise as why Emily wouldn't fill it right away. "I want to do some research about the games I'll be partic.i.p.ating in. So I will be mentally prepared." Emily winked. "You're such a nerd!!!" Linda replied rolling her eyes.
They two quickly grabbed a snack and went towards their next cla.s.sroom before the bell rang. Chemistry was their next period. All of them went to the science lab and carried out a few experiments. At the end of the day Linda and Emily waved each other goodbye and parted ways. Linda entered her car and sat on the pa.s.senger seat, next to her dad, who drove away. Emily was about to start her walk towards the gym and stopped when see heard Aiden calling his name. "Emily, you are forgetting me!" He laughed. So did Emily, "Sorry!"
Aiden took out his phone and texted something. He then turned to Emily, "Emily, wait. Henry said that he's near the college. So the three of us can go to the gym together." "Okay, sure." Emily responded. So the two now waited for the car to arrive. Within two minutes, a yellow sports car appeared and stopped in front of them. The black window opened down and revealed a face, wearing sungla.s.ses. It was Henry, "Hey fellas! Jump in." The two got in and now they were on their way towards the gym. "So... Henry, I haven't seen you in college. Which college are you from then?" Emily asked. "I am home schooled. I have studied in my home all my life. Neither do I go to college... Home sweet home. " He replied in a proud and confident manner. After a long silence Emily exclaimed, "Nice car." "Thanks!" Henry responded.
They reached the gym and all the three of them entered the cool and peaceful gym. Emily started to work out on the elliptical, Henry on the treadmill and Aiden on the stair mill. As soon as they started their respective exercises, the bell on the door sounded, as someone stepped in and went directly towards the counter. Emily closely looked at the new figure. Definitely a girl, she thought, but who. She never encountered a girl here before, although she had been here only once. But she was filling out a forum, so it meant she had to be a new person.
