The day when Mi Xiaoxiao had heard about her promotion, she treated Shangguan Ning to a fancy lunch and said proudly, “That is very wise of you to recommend your friend. You can tell the President next time that he can promote me to become the Director, one without “Deputy”. It sounds nicer!”

What Shangguan Ning had said, surprised her tremendously, “You became a Deputy Director? Since when?”

Only then did Mi Xiaoxiao understand that it had been Deputy President Liang who had promoted her on his own and not because of anyone’s influence. Mi Xiaoxiao had got moved in vain. After all, Shangguan Ning didn’t deal with public affairs with private favor!

But it was Shangguan Ning’s favor anyway.

Mi Xiaoxiao knew pretty well that she couldn’t possibly become a Deputy Director with her own abilities. Apparently, Liang Fus.h.i.+ knew about her friends.h.i.+p with Shangguan Ning so he had promoted her.

She had established a great network just by sticking to Shangguan Ning!

“Shangguan, why do I feel that you have put on some weight recently?”

Shangguan Ning had been feeling a bit nervous to see such a large-scale press conference which she had never experienced before. Also, the press conference would be broadcast globally and if anything happened halfway, there would be a huge disaster.

But what Mi Xiaoxiao had said released her from the tension. She flushed.

“Oh really? Maybe not, I have been this chubby for long.”

Actually, she had gained some weight. Jing Yichen had been urging her to put in enough nutrients so as to make proper preparations for the pregnancy.

Shangguan Ning used to be too skinny with 168 cm in height and barely 50 kg in weight. Now she was 52.5 kgs instead.

But when she gained weight, her b.o.o.bs seemed to get plumper than before. Jing Yichen also said that one hand was not large enough to cup her b.o.o.bs, the night before.

Shangguan Ning shook her head.

Oh G.o.d, she must have been crazy to think about what happened the night before!

It was all Mi Xiaoxiao’s fault!

Shangguan Ning turned her head to look at her and snapped, “Xiaoxiao, I think that you have gained some weight too! Look at your waist, your legs and your arms. You need to lose some weight.”

She looked so serious that Mi Xiaoxiao almost believed her. She had been eating a lot of food, recently.

She looked down at her figure nervously. “Really? Oh my G.o.d, I am such a pig. I keep eating all the time, that’s why I have gained weight. What should I do? I have just got a new boyfriend but he has been very fickle. Do you think that it is because I have become fat? Bah, men are just cheaters. He loved me when I was slender and now he is showing such a bad face to me. I must lose weight and get skinny again so that I can abandon him and find someone more handsome!”

Shangguan Ning was speechless.

She was just making a joke. Mi Xiaoxiao didn’t have to take it so seriously.

“Ms. Mi, please do not take my words too seriously. You are not chubby at all! You are as thin as a stick. I just made a joke and you believed it.”

Women loved their appearance and body shape. Mi Xiaoxiao was not an exception to this.

But what mattered more was the press conference, which had just begun.

Mi Xiaoxiao had been in charge of handling press conferences from the beginning to the end, so she had learnt a great deal of things. She couldn’t wait to see the achievement and she was not worried that anything unexpected would occur in the middle. A simple press conference would surely be performed excellently, otherwise the staff from PR department might as well resign.

Shangguan Ning also stopped talking with Mi Xiaoxiao after hearing Liang Fus.h.i.+’s voice that announced the starting of press conference.

It was an excellent opportunity to promote Jingsheng through global broadcasting, one that Liang Fus.h.i.+ would not possibly miss. So for the first ten minutes, he was just making a presentation about Jingsheng.

Then he told the journalists to ask their questions.

After several journalists raised some irrelevant questions, someone started to ask sharp questions.

“Please tell us, is the rumor that Jingsheng will be divided into half, true? Is it true that Jingsheng is splitting?

Liang Fus.h.i.+ didn’t look very serious. Instead, he had a slight smile on the face and said through the microphone, “As this fellow journalist says, it is just a piece of rumor that comes from nowhere. I have been with Jingsheng for so many years and I have never heard of this. I can a.s.sure you fully that Jingsheng will never be divided and there will always be only one Jingsheng in this world.”

But the journalist didn’t seem to be convinced.

He continued. “I heard that the two heirs of Family Jing are fighting fiercely against each other and both of them want to be the owner. It seems that there is no other way out than division. Will the enterprise collapse if the brothers remain rivals?”

Shangguan Ning threw a look at the journalist and got a bit annoyed by the question which he had put forward.

However, Liang Fus.h.i.+ answered leisurely, “First of all, you have made a mistake. There is only one heir in Family Jing, same with Jingsheng Enterprise. Also, the two brothers of Family Jing are in a good relations.h.i.+p with each other and theirs is a tightly-connected family. The reason why they are said to be rivals is because someone behind the scenes is trying to throw dirt at Family Jing.”

The journalist raised couple of more questions which were answered properly by Liang Fus.h.i.+ without difficulties.

At that moment, some other journalists started to raise their hands to ask questions.

“Why is the Second Master not in jail after Ms. Shen Lingbing was killed?”

“Have Family Jing bribed the Public Security Bureau when Second Master has been hurting so many girls from A City?”

The questions were getting sharper and harder.

“First of all, Ms. Shen Lingbing did not die because of Second Master. She was picked by Second Master for their engagement and he was also devastated by her death. Secondly, Family Jing has allowed the police to take over the case who have reached the conclusion that someone else is behind the case. Apparently, the killer aims at making Family Jing suffer by killing Ms. Shen.”

“If the Public Security Bureau can be bribed so easily, then I don’t think that Jingsheng would ever need to host a press conference to clarify everything, because in this way, we can also bribe the journalists, the news agencies so that only advantageous reports would be published for our sake. Everything Jingsheng does is legal and Family Jing will never try to save Second Master, if he ever commits a crime.”

“Second Master is better looking than me and attracts girls…”

When Liang Fus.h.i.+ spoke these words, he was apparently very amused, so were the journalists sitting there.
