He had not expected that Ji Bo could be so honest and blunt.

Usually, the face of a family was more important than anything else. When Ji Bo talked about Ji Family’s fear towards the Jing Family, people would look down at the Ji Family if this went out.

He knew that if Jing Yichen was speaking in this way, he had approved of his proposal and what he needed most was trust at the stage.

“Leave Yang Muyan and Jing Yiran to me. I will report to you about their plan. But I only have one request at the moment. Now I have returned the shares to you, you must not touch Ji’s Enterprise for one month. You can help Family Ji formally when you trust me fully. One month would be enough for me to gain your trust.”

Despite Ji Bo’s determined words, Jing Yichen displayed no reaction.

He picked up the share certificate that was worth tens of billions, stood up and walked out of the room.

When he reached the door, he said in a calm voice, “For the time being, I will follow the collaboration.”

That basically meant that he had just promised not to ruin Family Ji.

Ji Bo felt instantly relieved and the heavy load on his chest suddenly disappeared too.

Could it have been because he had found a competent helper?

Ji Bo had not had a good meal for days. But now, he suddenly felt very hungry.

She had always believed that Ji Bo was not a bad man.

Shangguan Ning praised him.

But Jing Yichen, who was driving around, sounded displeased. “You dare to speak so highly of him?”

That sounded like a dangerous question!

This single sentence made Jing Yichen happy. He even showed a small smile.

Shangguan Ning slapped her forehead and could not help but think that this man was such a child, innocent and gullible.

She smiled and wondered if the baby would also be innocent and gullible, just like his father.

The early spring wind was quite chilly. Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning took a walk outside for only a few moments before getting back in the car.

They did not return home, but went to Huang Lihan’s, instead.

On the way there, Jing Yichen called Jing Tianyuan and told him about the regained shares.

Jing Tianyuan was very glad. His grandson was getting more and more capable. He had gained back the shares without spending a cent. He felt very gratified.

Jing Yichen, however, said calmly, “Grandpa, don’t tell the Old Lady yet. Jing Yiran must not get to know about it right now.”

If Mo Lan knew about the regained shares, she would definitely inform Jing Yiran, instantly and would ask for Jing Yiran to be brought back to Family Jing.

Ji Bo had come to him privately. If Jing Yiran found out that Ji Bo had given back the shares to Jing Yichen, he would suspect Ji Bo.

Jing Tianyuan knew how Mo Lan favored Jing Yiran, so he replied in an angry tone, “Of course I know that, little boy. You are capable because your father is a good teacher and your father is capable because I am a good teacher!”

Jing Yichen drove the car to Huang Lihan’s villa soon after.

When they arrived there, arguing voices greeted them.

“My fish is the biggest! This is going to be served to Ning. You must not compete with me. She is pregnant with my grandson and needs the best food.”

“Jing, can you be less pompous? I got this fish. Why has it become yours? You have taken all the credit. How will I show off in front of my girl?”

Huang Lihan was not pleased about Shangguan Ning calling Jing Zhongxiu “Dad”, so he kept calling Shangguan Ning “his girl”, reminding Jing Zhongxiu that Shangguan Ning was his niece, first.

“That is only because you wanted to take the biggest fish for yourself. I want to keep it for Ning!”

“Of course I would share this with Ning! Why would I wait until you remind me?”

They were still arguing when Shangguan Ning could not help but burst into laughter. She greeted them one after the other.

The two of them turned to look at her and stopped arguing when they saw her coming towards them with a bulging belly. Instantly, they looked gentle and mild.

Huang Lihan continued, “Spring is not that warm yet, Yichen, don’t let Ning freeze. Come and take a seat, I will get the fish soup to get your stomach warmed.”

Jing Yichen noticed that they both pushed him away and helped Shangguan Ning take the seat holding her arms, as if he were just an extra person around.

It was still reasonable if uncle treated him in this way, after he was Ning’s family. But even Jing Zhongxiu, his own father, was trying to push him away too!

Shangguan Ning was born to be liked by the elder people in the family, be it from the Jing Family or the Zhao Family. Even Mu Wensheng, who was known for his terrible temper, favoured Shangguan Ning.
