Chapter 328: The Eerie Flower that Sucks Blood

The eerie flower opened its petals wide like a huge mouth and swallowed Feng Tianlan’s fist whole. But just after her fist went in, the flower spat it back out and hurriedly retreated. Its petals stood straight up like hair that goes frizzy in the heat. It looked oddly adorable, if not for the fact that it was actually incredibly vicious.

Feng Tianlan considered its behavior and figured that this must be the Spirit Severing Vine. It certainly seemed to have some spirit in it.

The Spirit Severing Vine waved its flower, then all the vines that were facing outward now turned to attack Feng Tianlan together. It recognized that she was difficult to deal with.

Feng Tianlan looked at the oncoming vines and unleashed her Fire Element in all directions. It wasn’t real fire, but since these vines contained the Wood Element, a Fire Element attack was enough to scatter them.

The Spirit Severing Vine took this chance to pounce on Feng Tianlan again. It had decided that it must eat her, even if she was on fire.

Feng Tianlan held onto her dagger and accurately aimed for the middle of the flower. If she was going to take out the vines’ source, then she had to fight carefully. The Spirit Severing Vine itself didn’t have any intention of avoiding her either. It leaped up violently and wound itself around her legs. Then, it climbed up her back, attaching itself to the wound on her back and sucked greedily.

“Tianlan!” Luo Yunzhu and the rest of the team reached the place and saw Feng Tianlan suspended in midair with a vine attached to her back. In a blink of an eye, her entire back was covered with vines, and it looked like she was about to be swallowed alive.

Lin Suyin flew up. “Miss Feng, don’t be afraid! I’m coming to save you.”

Luo Yunzhu and the rest didn’t say anything, and they just dove into the fight. But the other vines started going crazy when they smelled the strong stench of blood and started attacking them.

Feng Tianlan and the others were entangled with the vines, but there were no sounds of insects or birds. Only the smell of danger and death lurked all around.

Feng Tianlan couldn’t turn back to look at them, but her heart was extremely anxious. She looked at the flower in front of her. It was so red that it would soon turn into a crystal. She clenched her teeth and stowed the Fire Element on her fists. The flower petals immediately closed around her hand and bit her.

Feng Tianlan quickly used her left hand to squeeze the flower stem tightly. Since the Spirit Severing Vine still needed to breathe, the flower instantly opened up and spat out her bloodied hand. Angrily, it opened and closed its petals, wanting to try to eat her again.

“That’s for biting me!” Feng Tianlan squeezed the flower stem again with one hand and used the other to pull at one ruby red petal. Since the plant had dared to use its petals to bite her, she was going to pull them all out!

When one petal had been successfully plucked out, the Spirit Severing Vine trembled. Even the vines attacking Luo Yunzhu and the others started shaking without any particular rhyme or reason. It looked like one green wave surging after another.

Feng Tianlan’s lips curled into a smile when she found its weak spot. The other four petals were so fearful that it closed up again, afraid that it would lose another petal. The other vines trembled even more intensely. They couldn’t attack anymore.

When Luo Yunzhu and the others saw that the vines were no longer as imposing and had weakened their attack, they quickly started chopping at them. They headed in Feng Tianlan’s direction, hoping to protect her.

Feng Tianlan was still holding onto the flower stem and looking at this flower, which couldn’t stop trembling. A malicious smile appeared on her lips as she exerted some force and broke the flower in half with her bare hands. She was left holding nothing but the section of the flower above the stem. It was only about as long as her finger.
