Hidden Hallows 113 Heating Up

I take several steps back as the thing continues to grow in size but in reality, it was just standing up. Large claws sc.r.a.pe against the ground as equally large arms stretch out. Black as night scales seem to drink in and absorb all the dim light down here as it stretches.

It's a freaking Dragon!?! I stumble back a few more steps but when one of its claws come down, the ground slightly shakes from the impact. I look at the thing in awe and disbelief as I mutter "You have got to be freaking kidding me..."

I continue to slowly step back as I try to rack my brain for what I know about Dragons but it isn't much! They disappeared along with the elves and I never saw one when I went back in time... how the h.e.l.l am I supposed to fight this thing when its pinky toe is bigger than me!?

With each step, the ground shakes! It locks its red-golden eyes on me as its tail uncoils around it like a large snake coming to life. Can it speak? I should have read that d.a.m.n book my mother had about Dragons but they were extinct! I didn't think it was important!

When it pulls its lips back and growls, my insides shake from the vibrations! Its teeth are... they're HUGE! Golden markings streak up the sides of its large face and forehead. If this wasn't so terrifying, it would be magnificent to look at.

I decide to give it a try and say "Hi... Um... I didn't mean to disturb your slumber down here and what not but this demon named Enzo kinda threw me down here and now I'm kinda stuck... you see? I don't want to fight or... kill you or anything... just trying to find a way out... that's all."

I continue to back up the entire time but the Dragon's golden-red eyes follow my every move with a preditors grace. I nervously bite my lip as I say "Nothing? Nothing at all... no h.e.l.lo or, I'm going to eat you... nothing?"

Suddenly, smoke can be seen rising from the gapes of its sharp teeth! Oh s.h.i.+t!! I turn and haul a.s.s down the tunnel as fast as I possibly can! With each step of the Dragon, the tunnel shakes. When I feel the air in the tunnel flying past me... I know I'm in trouble.

It's inhaling! I use my magic to try and help me but it's quickly being absorbed into the surrounding walls. I grit my teeth and call forward my Leopard as I leap! I s.h.i.+ft into a Snow Leopard mid-air and land on all fours with ease. I dig my claws into the ground and take off as the air behind be becomes still.

I can hear my own heart pounding in my chest as the air behind me ignites! s.h.i.+t s.h.i.+t s.h.i.+t!!! I kick it into another gear and tuck my tail in tight as my a.s.s begins to feel extra toasty. The whole tunnel lights up from behind but I have no chance to look back.

When I see another tunnel branching off to the left, I quickly dart for it! The fire is so intense and hot, it's sucking all the oxygen out of the air! As I turn the corner into the next tunnel, I feel the hot fire brush past me from behind but I'm safe.

I continue running as I try to think of a plan but when I feel something, I slow down and look to my paws. The ground is shaking... and it's getting worse... I dig my claws back into the ground and hightail it when I realize it's now running after me.

When it comes around the corner, I try not to squeal. I HATE being chased! As I run for my life, I turn my head to take a look and instantly wished I hadn't. Its body nearly takes up the entire tunnel as it chases after me like a freaking bullet train of death!

Binx suddenly screams "What the h.e.l.l is going on!? What the h.e.l.l is that!??" I grit my teeth and run with all my might as I yell back "What's it look like! It's a freaking Dragon and I'm about to become barbecue!!"

I hear Binx cursing up a storm before saying "I'm coming!" I almost trip as I quickly say "Noooo!! If you come here, who will keep Kian bound to the house!? If you come here, who the h.e.l.l is going to summon me out of here!?"

Binx quickly snaps back "If your a.s.s is turned into kitty barbecue, no one's going to be summoning your crusty a.s.s anywhere!" I make a sharp turn down another tunnel just in time for the Dragon to plow into the tunnel behind me.

Stones and dirt fall down everywhere as it scrambles to get back up and chase after me again. I snap back at Binx and say "Untrue! They could always summon my spirit once I'm dead." Binx is silent for a full three seconds before he's growling at me.

"Not funny, Eris! I'm being serious here." I can tell he's pacing back and forth in worry but I send him a mental smile as I say "I'm laughing so I won't cry. I'm being serious too. Do not come here Binx. It's an order. I will find a way out of this... I always do."

Binx is silent again as I feel his anger and worry war with each other but he can't disobey an order. He growls at me and says "You better come back alive... or I'll follow you to the underworld and make your undead life miserable..."

I smile bitterly as I say "I wouldn't have it any other way." I cut the link and try to think of something but other than tunnels, nothing else exists down here. There has to be a catch... there has to be something I'm missing or something I'm overlooking...

When I feel the air behind me heating up again, I push myself to run faster. I can't keep running like this... all my energy is going to run out at this rate.
