Hidden Hallows 58 Learning

We continue practicing until I can hardly keep standing. The woman was terrifyingly powerful. "How are you feeling?" Queen Cara asks with a stretch. She looks like she just had an invigorating workout while I look like death warmed over.

I give her a weary smile as I say "Never better" She giggles a bit as she says "You'll get stronger but you're still holding back. You need to stop thinking about it so much and just feel it. I know you can feel it... why aren't you using it?"

Her words. .h.i.t home for me when I think about the power my mother told me never to touch. I give her a conflicted look as I say "I don't want to lose myself to it..." Queen Cara looks at me with surprise before giving me a confused look.

"Lose yourself? It's your power child. Own it." She says with a straight and serious face. Own it? My mind slips back to the time I used those powers as a teenager and almost killed myself and my mother. Ever since then I've been terrified of it.

"That's all for now but I want you to keep working on your control." She says making a seed the size of a grape appear in her hand. She places the seed into the palm of my hand as she says "Get the seed to grow and you'll be able to leave this place."

When I look back up to her, she disappears without another word. I look back down at the seed and groan. "I can't make plants grow with magic!" I yell out but no one answers me. Sighing, I sit down on the ground and place the seed in front of me.

I look around and see that there isn't a single source of water. How am I going to make it grow without water? I scratch the side of my head and stare at the seed with a perplexed look. I give up and lift a finger, pointing at the seed as I say "Grow!"

I sit in silence, waiting for something to happen but nothing but more silence greets me. I lift my other hand and point both fingers at the seed as I say "Grow!"

Nothing...

I point all my fingers at the seed and yell "Grow!!" again.

Nothing.

I grab my hair and pull at it as I yell out "I can't grow plants!!! What do you want from me!?" Again... nothing but silence greets me as I sit in the empty s.p.a.ce. I can feel the wind in my hair and on my skin but the s.p.a.ce was void of any real life.

I glare at the seed, lifting my hands and making little guns with my fingers as I say "Grow or I'll shoot!"

Nothing...

"Argh!!" I yell out in frustration and fall back. I stretch my arms out and look up at the blue sky with anger boiling under my skin. I'm tired, hungry, and in need of a hot bath but what am I stuck doing? Growing a freaking seed!

Should I talk to the seed? Maybe this is a trick... "Um... little seed. Could you please grow for me?" I slowly sit up to look at it again and see that it's still just sitting there. I lick my lips and try again as I ask "Do you need something? What if I plant you?"

I jump up and start digging a little hole before placing the seed into the hole with a strained smile. I cover most of the seed, only leaving the very top uncovered as I say "Ahhh? Do you like it? Huh? It's nice and comfy now, right?"

I look down at the seed and suddenly slap myself. Have I lost my d.a.m.n mind!? Was I really talking to the d.a.m.n thing and asking if it was comfy?? I fall back on my a.s.s and stare at the thing with defeat.

She said I was holding back, right? I tightly shut my eyes and lean forward, placing my hands down on the soil on both sides of the seed and pus.h.i.+ng my power into it. I frown when I feel my magic seeping into the ground and dissipating.

"You've got to be kidding me!! What do you want from me!!?" I snap as I stand up and yell. I kick at the seed as I curse and yell out in anger. Do I have a temper? Maybe... and this isn't helping it!! I want out of this d.a.m.n place and I want out now!

I also want a freaking coffee!! I throw my head back and scream out in anger! Suddenly, the sound of gla.s.s shattering surrounds me and when I look up, I'm standing in the greenhouse from before. Queen Cara stares at me with surprise before outright laughing.

Kian looks at me with surprise and confusion but I completely ignore him as I glare at Queen Cara. "I can't grow plants with magic!" I say between clenched teeth as she continues to laugh. "You have quite the temper my dear. I guess that's a good thing... We can work with that." She says wiping a tear from her eye.

My eye twitches from my slipping sanity as she says "Calm down, child. You did very well for your first time. You just broke out of my enchantment, something no one has been able to do. I'd say that was pretty good." I continue to glare at her as I proceed to flip her off.

She looks at it in confusion as I turn around and storm out, hungry, tired, and p.i.s.sed. Kian runs after me but as I'm storming out of the Greenhouse, I run straight into a solid chest. When I look up, I see that it is the male elf from the other day.

The one that was on the horse in the front... He looks down at me in surprise before glaring at me. "You.." He says slamming me into the wall. Kian tries to run over and stop the other male elf but Queen Cara uses her magic to stop him.

I jerk my right arm away from him and bring my elbow up and across his face. I'll give him credit, he only flinched a little before trying to backhand me. I bring both my arms up to block the blow and lace them with my magic.

I quickly lace my knee with magic as I bring it up and knee him in the side. I hear a satisfying crack as he grunts and grabs me around the neck. He slams me back against the wall as he says "I will personally kill you for that!"

My eyes begin to glow, surprising him as I say "I'd like to see you try pretty boy..." My canines begin to grow as my nails lengthen. He stares at me in shock as he quickly releases me and steps back.
