Hidden Hallows 78 Trippin'

After pulling up to the house and nearly dragging him out of the car, I pull him into the house and slam the door shut saying "House, don't let the vampire out." The house rattles a little before every lock in the house slides into place with a bunch of clicks.

Ambrose's eyes grow large as he says "Alive!! Everything's alive through you!" I nod my head with an exasperated look on my face and say "Right... so I want you to go over and sit on that couch until you hear all of its secrets."

He lifts up an elegant finger and waves it at me as he says "No no no, everything's connected to you so you have all the secrets. I will sit on you until I hear all of your secrets." He says this with such a serious face, I quickly realize he's completely out of his mind.

I slowly nod my head as I wave him to come closer. In all his seriousness, he walks over and leans in close, turning his head so that I have better access to his ear. I lean in close and whisper "If you try to sit on me, I will... ERASE YOUR EXISTENCE!!"

As I yell the last part, he jumps back and holds his ear with a look of confusion saying "If it's you... that is very possible but if you erase me from existence, who will hold all your secrets." I look at him and wonder if I could possibly kill him and get away with it.

When I think about all the vampires from the club who saw me leave with him, I quickly dismiss the idea and rub my temples. "Ambrose, try to think about when you drank my blood. When was that?" He frowns and looks to the side as if he's really trying to remember but when a solid three minutes pa.s.s and he hasn't moved, I look over to see him watching Binx lick his b.a.l.l.s again!

I reach up and grab Ambrose's chin, forcing him to look at me and focus as I ask "When did you drink my blood?" Ambrose keeps his eyes on me as he lifts his arm and points at Binx while saying "He's connected to you to... everything is connected. Did you know that you're changing? We're connected too..."

He uses his vampire speed to grab my wrist and steps closer to me as he says "I don't even feel hungry... not even a little but I can smell you... your blood is changing. You are changing... but you are still the same... Can you not feel it?"

I try to pull my arm back and step away but he holds on tight as he continues to ramble on incoherently. My blood is changing? Is he talking about the white blood I saw? "Ambrose... what are you talking about?"

He pulls me against him as he starts petting my face again saying "The beginning and the end... The connection... your blood is alive... it's all alive." I look at him in confusion but the things he says are somehow sounding a little... odd.

"Okay... thanks... good to know. Now let go." I say trying to step back but he refuses to release me as he says "They will come... they will all come. Can't you hear them!?" He suddenly looks up then down before wrapping me in a tight hug.

He starts petting my head as he says "Shhh... don't let them hear you. I will hide you and keep you safe because we are connected now and you make everything alive." I growl in irritation and call upon my s.h.i.+fter side.

I use my strength to push against him and step back but instead of releasing me, he stumbles with me and falls over on me, knocking us both over. My back hits the floor hard and then he lands on top of me but to my surprise, he catches himself at the last moment so that he doesn't crush me.

"Ambrose!! Get off!!" I yell out in aggravation and try to push him away but he easily swats my hands away and lays on top of me as he says "I will hide you from them all..." I grit my teeth and say "Ambrose... This is your last chance. Get off or I'm going to light your a.s.s up!"

I feel an odd pressure change and look over to find Kian standing in my house in all his dark glory. Dark wisps of smoke surround him as he steps into my living room through some kind of portal but as the darkness behind him seals up, his dark eyes land on us.

I'm pretty sure there was only a second of silence before Ambrose is flying through my house! He flies through a wall and keeps going until he hits the refrigerator in the kitchen. I quickly jump up and lift my hands as I say "He's a friend... employer really but he's not in his right mind right now! He wasn't trying to hurt me or drink from me, he was trying to... hide me. I will explain in a minute."

Kian's eyes glow a bright red color as black wisps of smoke lift off his body like a mist. He looks at me with a rising chest, eyes full of worry and fear but also anger. He walks over to me and starts looking me over asking "Are you hurt?"

I shake my head and say "I'm fine. I need to go check on the vampire..." I turn around and walk into the kitchen to find Ambrose holding the dry, shriveled up grapes with tears in his eyes. The refrigerator door is completely destroyed and everything inside the fridge is now all over the floor. He looks up to us as we come to a stop and says "They're dying... save them Eris... you have to save them!!"

Plaster from the wall falls out of his hair and other than being covered in the white plaster... he looks completely fine. I sigh and close my eyes, reaching for strength as I say "They're grapes, Ambrose... they're made to be eaten."

Ambrose brings the half-dried grapes to hits chest and says "NO!! No one will eat them!! You need to save them." Tears fall from his face, leaving streaks down his handsome face. I turn to find Kian right behind me with a look of confusion.

"Eris!! You have to save them, you have to! YOU HAVE TO!!" He yells like it's a life and death situation! I throw my hands up and walk over to him as I say "Give them to me, Ambrose." He shakes his head like a toddler as he says "Not until you promise to save them."

I finally give in and play along. "Fine, I promise to TRY and save them, okay?" He slowly reaches out and hands me the grapes. I look down at them with a perplexed look and wonder how to work with this. They're practically raisins at this point...

Ambrose sniffs and says "Blow life onto them..." I look up to see him giving me a puppy look I just can't ignore. Sighing, I take a deep breath and blow on the grapes. One of the dried up grapes falls off and hits the floor between Ambrose's long legs.

He makes a small squeak noise and gently picks it up and replaces it back in my hands as he says "No, you have to blow life onto them." I feel my eye twitching as I picture shoving the grapes up his nose but I take a deep breath and think about blowing "life" into them. So stupid...

I blow all the air out of my lungs and just as I'm about to tell him they're beyond help, the grapes suddenly start plumping back up. My eyes grow large with shock as the grapes really do come back to life!! What the h.e.l.l!?!
