During the first battle, she did find something off about the way he finished his match but she shrugged it off as he wanted to show off his skills.

But during Jinha's battle, she saw him panting slightly at the beginning and later changing his attack to a formation which made her doubtful.

As he bent down to catch his breath after placing the formation, she saw a scar on his shoulder which made her realise he was poisoned.

She was impressed that even though he was poisoned, even though he only had half of his energy, he could battle against Jinha for a long time and successfully place a third-degree formation on him.

She doubts whether anyone would be able to move if half of the same dosage was given to them.

Usui smiled," You are the first one to actually know that I'm poisoned. Are you a healer, by any chance ?"

She ignored his question and asked him the question which was nagging since she realised he was poisoned, " How did you get the scar on your shoulder?"

Frowning, he touched the scar on his shoulder and said, "It happened during a battle against Silvia's prince. Why did you ask?"

She nodded in understanding.

It was well known about the enmity between Silvia and Sun kingdom. They would battle against each other given the opportunity.

She wondered what reason could make the prince want to poison Usui that he stopped him from advancing further.

She looked at him, "That scar is the reason behind your current state."

Usui was shocked hearing this as he didn't expect that idiot to take things too extreme. He clenched his fists tight, cursing that blockhead. He wanted to rush back and chop his head off.

Freya shook her head, "There's no point in killing him. You would have been saved if the healers knew about the poison before they st.i.tched your wound. Now that they have st.i.tched, it's already been absorbed by your body."

Usui smiled helplessly as he thought about the incident. It was obvious that the healers sided the prince as no poison could go undetected.

"Looking at you, you wouldn't be able to fight another battle. It's better for you to withdraw tomorrow's battle."

Hearing that, Usui smiled and shook his head, "I don't want to. I only have two choices: win or lose. I don't have any other option."

Freya was stunned hearing him but later she angrily asked," Do you not care about your life? your family? "

Usui's smile faded and looked at her coldly, "This has nothing to do with me caring about my life or family. Call me selfish but I don't want to lie in some bed thinking of the day I would die. It's better to fight till my last breath than waiting around for the grim reaper to arrive."

He turned around and left, saying these words.

Freya was dumbfounded.. she didn't know what she was supposed to make him out to be, a fool or a brave person?!

Soon, she heard footsteps behind her and turned to see her team members. She had sent them a message when she figured about the teleportation gate.

Hak took in his surroundings as he ordered some soldiers to clean the mess.

Zeno looked at Freya who was staring at one direction," What is it, Freya?"

"What we feared, has started. We need to warn the royals and make the necessary preparations."

Freya said as she remembered the red eyes staring at her. She clenched her hand around the hilt of her dagger tight as she stared at the burnt body in hatred.

She felt a hand touching her shoulder which made her relax her gaze. She turned to Hak and Zeno, who had a grim expression on their face.

Hak whispered, "It seems like princess Hazel's words are coming true."

In the quiet alley, his words were heard loud and clear to the groups who had a dark look on their face.

Freya shook her head and sighed.

" Let's go. We need to notify them."
