I slowly rose to my feet, only to realize that we were no longer in s.p.a.ce, but rather in a large open field. I was not alone. I could see the familiar sight of my party members only they were different from before. Each of them seemed to be a lot younger, around the age of 10. Hylia was the only one who had not changed, her appearance was the same as before.
When I looked down at myself I realized that I too had changed, but the body i inhabited was unfamiliar to me. I looked around 10 years old, but my body was not anything that I had experienced before. In this world I had been a goblin and a dark elf. But at this moment I was neither.
my once dark grey skin had changed to a pale white. I could see long blonde hair, and none of the curves that I was used to. As I ran my fingers through my hair I suddenly stopped as I felt something that did not belong. Two long protrusions could be felt on my forehead, right before my hair line. They were rather sharp, and the sudden brus.h.i.+ng against them had caused my fingers to be p.r.i.c.ked. I could feel the warm blood trickling down my fingers.
I looked on in a state of shock as I saw my arms were covered in scales. The scales seemed to blend in with my flesh, but I could see them gleam as they reflected the lightning in the sky.
At my feet I could feel something rubbing against me. It seemed to cling to me. As a particularly loud clash of thunder roared its clinging became more intense. I reached down and grabbed the creature. It was around the size of a cat, but it's appearance is what shocked me. The creature had no flesh that I could see. It was made completely of bone. It had short horns on its forehead, horns that resembled my own.
I could feel something inside of the beast resonating with my soul. As I examined it further my eyes opened in shock as I saw the two flaming blue eyes that inhabited the empty sockets of the skull. The creature before me was none other than the arrogant and mighty skeletal dragon. However at this time none of that arrogance or power could be felt. It seemed to have regressed just like the rest of us.
As I held the dragon in my arms I could see the others around me begin to stir. Leisha was the first to get up. Her once semi refined appearance had disappeared. In its place was a complete feeling of the wild. Her eyes darted around fiercely, as she appraised the area around her.
The next to wake up was Bailey. Her youthful appearance was rather adorable. As she stretched she let out a rather cute yawn. She looked around with a confused look, not knowing where she was.
Sierra woke up after that. She was covered in her own drool, and her hair was even more wild than the look in Leisha's eyes.
The last to wake up was Hylia. She only stirred when the rain began to pour. She grumbled as she got up, and rubbed her eyes sleepily.
I observed the children for a moment. I noticed that each of them looked at each other curiously, as if they were kindergartners at their first day of school. It was easy to tell that they did not recognize each other.
As the storm around us became even stronger the girls instinctively huddled together, though they made no attempt to move from their spot. I could not help but sigh, the situation seemed worse than I had feared.
As the storm grew worse I was forced to look at our surroundings for some kind of shelter. In the distance I could see a faint light. I moved in this direction instinctively, anything was better than our current situation.
The girl's eyes followed me as I began to walk. The first to move was surprisingly Bailey, followed shortly after by Hylia. The other two girls moved at the same time. I could tell that they were apprehensive about moving, but they were even more reluctant to stay where they where.
There was nothing but the barren field around us. There were no trees, only the endless expanse of the fields of gra.s.s. The thunder rumbled above us, and they rain seemed to grow heavier with each step we took.
We were completely soaked by the time we arrived at the source of light. To my surprise it was actually a rather large tower. I could feel a strong presence of magical energy surrounding it. The baby dragon in my arms looked up at the tower and a low growl could be heard.
We circled the tower, finally finding a door. It was not surprising when I found it to be locked. I began to beat on the door, yelling for the inhabitant to let us in.
There was no reply from the tower, but the door seemed to open on it's own. Inside was a deceptively large room. It was filled with books of all kind. It had a large fireplace and a couple of couches. In the center of the room was a spiral staircase. The stairs went both up and down, showing that there was even more to the tower than what we could see from the outside.
When we all.had entered the door closed of it's own accord behind us. A tall man with a beard began to descend the stairs. He looked rather kind, and his eyes opened wide as he saw the group of us. He let out a sigh.
"Another group of adventurers who were unfortunate enough to enter this forsaken tower. Well come in, I will show you to your rooms. As per the rules outlined by my agreement with the tower You will stay here for a total of 6 years. Everything you knew before has been forgotten. Except for any unique skills or talents you have gained. For example you Leisha are still a werewolf, And Sierra still has her fire core."
