Willow branches outside the window drooped. Some flew with the wind, and others remained, seeming to wait for someone. Only loneliness was staying by his side now. After so many years of waiting and searching for her, it appeared that she still kept the everlasting love, with an implication of ‘I love you' buried in the memory.
Standing at the entrance of the past, she couldn't enter and wouldn't leave, just wanting to ask him, “Do you trust me?” She shed tears, recalling those lies.
Ironically, everlasting love came to an end. Only the inconstant love left.
He asked, “Whether my love was still everlasting if I forgot my beloved?”
She answered that even though lonely, she was willing to wait for the one she loved. Wherever she was, she concealed her ident.i.ty just for her beloved.
In the past ten thousand years, whenever he pa.s.sed the street corner, snowflakes fell on his shoulders, but she was no longer there to softly slide them down for him. Whenever he saw the radiant flame at its best, still inferior to the bright sun, she wasn't snuggling up against him.
Weilian said, “You consolidated your position at every step in the past. Now I just want to show up in front of you, enjoying blossom drop and drinking. It is our fate that I saw you stretching out your hand to me in the crowd.”
“However, our connection was soon broken, and I could merely saw your lonely figure be quickly swallowed up in the crowd.”
Without his beloved, he was drowned in nonchalance.
He stood at the entrance of the past, drinking her favorite liquor. He wanted to be drunk but sobered up too early, for he didn't truly understand alcohol.
He said, “Why can we get together if there is no fate? When will our fate disappear if there is one? Although fate is unsteady, I still remember you.”
“What I have done is all for you. I'm glad that you are always accompanying me. I have cried oceans of tears after you leave.”
She enjoyed night breeze, with liquor, in a tea house.
Drinking peach blossom liquor, he was sleepless nightly.
He slowly closed his eyes, trying to see her but turning around.
He remembered that she was always silent.
He felt sorrowful as he was haunted by the previous experience.
Although he and she were framed by someone, he felt less painful than what he suffered previously.
He was still in grief even though it had been a long time.
Our connection was broken.
He couldn't let her stop crying.
He remembered that in the past, she had said to him, “I don't want the world. I just want the one I love. I was defeated due to love, and you won eternal loneliness. Will you love me just the way I love you?” It was a pity that he didn't answer and only gave her a disappointing back. He had never expected that it was the time for her departure.
“I am chasing you in the dream, but you are always running. I always remember your smile, and I can't forget the first time you smiled at me.” Weilian continued, and somehow, his petulant heart would calm down as long as he smelled her fragrance.
“Do you know I am always waiting for you? After you come back, we will get married, and you will be my wife. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. We can see the flouris.h.i.+ng world, boil the tea, enjoy the sun fall and the moon rise and dance together, and we will spend our life just like this.” Weilian slightly released the woman in his arms.
“I promise you.” He looked at her eyes, her smile, and everything of her. She was the one he deeply loved but also deeply hurt. Looking at her smile, he felt slightly bitter.
He took her to the table and let her sit down, “Do you know it is your favorite tea?” Weilian gave it to her, but she was dull, staring at his eyes. She didn't take it. Weilian realized and brought it back, laughing, “I just forgot you have no feeling, and you are just a phantom.” He took the tea and said, “How time flies! Everything has changed rapidly, and my previous experience has already become a memory. What about you?” He was drinking tea, but what he said made him appear like a drunk.
Love always brought worry. One who saw his beloved in a dream didn't want to wake up because he was afraid that the dream was not real, and he wouldn't see his beloved if he woke up. He was the same now, and he wanted to be in the dream forever.
This day of last year, she and the peach flowers were beautiful. This year, she was still there, and the peach flowers flew with the spring breeze again.
Weilian took her hand, kissing it, “I am willing to write a poem of love for you in my whole life. Although I am not as smart as you, I just follow my heart. My love is deep, just needing one word. This word has been in my heart. Could you respond to me?” Weilian prayed, but she was just silent. He didn't get annoyed, just smiling softly, “When will you talk to me?” Looking at the woman, he remembered that he had only met her once since he attempted to look for her.
Nothing happened. It was just the soul of Lingran. To be more accurate, it was only a phantom Ronghua made for the King of Death by his illusion and obsession.
The wind was blowing, and the peach flowers flew to them. “Lingran, the peach flowers blossom again, will you be back?” Weilian gently flicked those peach flowers away from her shoulders. Everything looked so good. He hoped that he would be in this scene forever.
He knew this was not real, but there was such a place in the Realm of Demons. Lingran had planted the peach trees there. Only there could he feel the breath of Lingran and calm down. Every time he was in a bad mood, he would go there.
Weilian opened his eyes, not bloodthirsty, with warmth.
Certainly, Ronghua wasn't here anymore. It meant that she succeeded in escaping again.
“Ronghua… Don't let me seize you again. Otherwise, I would let you regret meeting me.”
“Your Majesty,” said the hidden guard.
“What's the matter?” Weilian came to his senses.
“There is something unusual in the Realm of Demons,” said the hidden guard.
Weilian looked at him, sneering, “I just left for a moment. Why did it happen so soon?”
“Lady Lingran's… iron fan was gone.” said the hidden guard.
“What do you mean?” Weilian suddenly caught the hidden guard, gnas.h.i.+ng.
Looking at the furious man, the hidden guard did know the consequence after he got the message. Still, he had to tell him, “Lady Lingran's iron fan behaved quite unusually today. It melted the ice wall surrounding it, broke the seal, and flew out of the Realm of Demons. We couldn't stop it.”
Weilian left him with anger, directly tearing the s.p.a.ce crack. He returned to the Realm of Demons.
Ronghua, who was escaping, saw the blood in her hand. Somehow, she spat out blood more and more frequently, but she didn't find anything wrong in her body. Did it link to the seal?
It was impossible. The only seal made by Ronghua's body was for her younger sister. But her sister's power wasn't enough to break the seal. Did she force to break the seal after suffering from the external force? Ronghua couldn't help worrying about her sister. How was she now?
She was muttering incantations, whose right hand folding the fan with a fancy swing and left hand reinforcing the seal. “I can't look for my sister now, so I just reinforce the seal first, but will it be good for my sister? If she is in danger, how should I do?”
Although she knew she shouldn't do that, she did it. She sent a stream of power to her sister through the seal secretly, which was enough for her sister to protect herself.
A black shadow appeared near her, “Your Grace.” The black shadow is her henchman, named Shengyuan.
Ronghua calmed down, “What's the matter?”
“Her Highness Lingxi wanted to enter the mysterious territory,” said Shengyuan.
Ronghua didn't hear clearly, “What did you say?”
“Her Highness Lingxi heard that there was one thing in the mysterious territory that can help to find her mother, so someone helped her to give the slip of Shu Ruomi. She was about to enter it,” said Shengyuan.
Ronghua sighed, “What a bothering child!”
“Get ready for the mysterious territory.” Although she'd better not enter it, this was the only way to protect her.
