"On the day of the attack, as we all know, it was the day Queen Isabella put to bed. That was the very same day the prophecy came that the lightning child would defeat Claudius. "
She looked around as she saw everyone in the hideout were already outside and listening to her.
"Right after the princess was born, Queen Isabella have a premonition of the future. She saw the princess, together with the Guardian's children all fighting together."
She took a pause, letting it all sink in to their minds.
"There was something else that put a smile on her face even in the situation her kingdom was under. She saw her daughter, the princess fighting and she had all the powers of the Guardians."
"What?"
"How can that be?"
"Never has it happened."
"A guardian cannot have all powers."
"Then what about the other Guardians, if she has all the powers?"
Here and there everyone had a doubt and were shocked at the truth been unveiled.
"You doubt the Queen?" Livia shouted at them. "Well never have any of the Guardians been married to each other."
"True"
"Now we have children with both powers from their parents, same with the princess and more. It was at that time King Alexander and Queen Isabella, named the princess" Ariana spoke to them.
"Isabel, for it was in her premonition that she heard the princess being address as such" Lady Ariadna spoke after keeping quiet all this time
.
"You want to know so badly where she and Lady Ariana had been all these years?"
No one dared talk back as Lady Phoebe spoke those words.
"Well I'll tell you. To fulfill what she had seen, the Queen had our powers gifted to the princess. And it was possible because the G.o.ds allowed it."
"This was not a battle to be won by we the current Guardians, Claudius had practiced dark magic for far too long. It was a battle for the new generation" Vita continued after Phoebe.
"After the ritual, Queen Isabella had Lady Ariana, Lady Ariadna, Lord Gregory, Lord Jamie and her most strongest mages Elizabeth and Aiden, take the princess to another realm."
"This is not a matter of betrayal or spies, they were entrusted with the sole duty of protecting and raising the princess till she is grown. Then she can return and save her people" Livia said.
"They left their people, she sent them with their babies and her heir to Earth to hide her from Claudius."
"After she opened a portal with her magic, they left. As soon as the portal closed, Claudius entered the ritual room. We were determined to fight till the end, but Queen Isabella wouldn't have it."
Livia had a sad expression on her face as she spoke.
"It's okay Livia, I'll take it from here. Queen Isabella opened another portal inspire if how drained she was and used a strong wind to push us all into it, sending us to the hideout against our wish. That was how we escaped Claudius, leaving behind the King and Queen" Vita finished explaining.
"What happened to the king and Queen? Claudius proclaimed them dead, is that true?"
"No one knows how true, but Queen Isabella was already too weak after child birth, then using her magic to perform the ritual, opening portals again and again. I... I—I... "
Everyone became sad at the news, they all felt in their heart that they had truly lost the queen. Claudius had announced the inevitable but part of them hoped that it wasn't true.
"They didn't die."
Everyone had their gaze s.h.i.+fted to the owner of the voice.
Standing there, in the midst of the Guardians, was a normal looking pretty girl. She was pretty alright, but her beauty didn't stand out as others.
But when she spoke, her voice felt angelic. smooth and calm, yet authoritative, holding and owning all the attention.
"What did you say?" one of the people asked.
"I said, they didn't die" her voice came out cool and calm again, still with that same authority in it.
"And who are you to say that? What do you know?"
"You probably weren't born at the time when all these happened" Trevor finally spoke after sometime.
