The rain had stopped about halfway through their watch. Raven had no idea how he felt as the sound of the rain ended. He did like the after smell though.

Their watch had been mostly quiet, other than the first few words between them. Raven was still surprised that Dawn had even tried to comfort him, even more so that she had gone as far as to hug him. Despite the awkwardness of that hug it had actually felt rather nice.

When he heard the others stirring, he quickly got to his feet, eager to help out. No one seemed to know what to have him do, until Lowks clapped him on the shoulder, "You can help me carry these buckets to find clean water for the horses."

Raven flashed a grin in the general direction of the ranger and followed his lead. Lowks was normally very quiet but right now he was making some noise making it easy for the blind man to follow him. Raven wondered if he was purposefully making some noise as the man was trained to move silently. Though he might just be relaxed and naturally making noise.

Raven had not really had much of a conversation with the ranger, either of them really. He sort of knew that Tira was his sister but that was about it. Well he had heard someone refer to the man as a half-elf so he figured that was his race but as he could not really see he could not confirm it.

Lowks seemed nice enough though. And Raven did admire his patience with Vixen. Though, he did not have to deal with those unsettling flirtatious comments that she made to all the other males. Raven tried his very best to avoid Vixen at all costs.

After a while of the silence though, Lowks actually broke it. His voice sounded highly apologetic, "I want to apologize on Vixen's behalf. I know you find her unsettling, but she really does not know any better. I probably failed with teaching her better. She has no father you see, so as her babysitter it was my duty…"

Raven frowned a bit, "Um, okay. Still, I am still going to avoid her."

There was a slight pause followed by a sigh, "Yeah, I can see why. Tira and I have tried to get her to stop, but she just does not listen."

There was a gloominess to Lowks voice that made Raven nearly laugh. He sounded like a father whose daughter was becoming rebellious.

Raven did not really have anything to reply to the other man so silence fell until Lowks had managed to locate a water source.

As they filled the buckets, Raven wondered how exactly he and his sister had ended up taking care of that girl in the first place. It might not really matter in the long run but Raven was mildly curious about all his companions, though unsure how exactly to go about finding out more information.

They moved slightly quicker when heading back to the building they had stayed in. It smelled old and a bit dusty to Raven but it had been dry last night which was what they had looked for. Raven happily volunteered to actually give the water to the horses. He liked animals.

The animals all seemed to like him as well. It made him feel happy when their heads would nuzzle him and ask him for attention.

He saved Zyph for last. Zyph was his favorite. He just loved running his fingers in its feather or fur and listening to its happy little puffs of air. Even after he had finished his ch.o.r.e he still stood beside of the large creature and petted it gently.

"Get up, we are heading out." At the sound of the queen's voice, Raven quickly scrambled up and patted the griffon's neck.

As she had her steed set off at a brisk pace, a smile came to Raven's face as the wind lifted his hair and brought a sense of freedom and refreshment to him.
