The next day Eleanor was out of her room, we were all eating breakfast together, when Kurt suddenly asked 

"So, how was yesterday?" 

"W-Well, We only did stance training, and then I came home" 

"And after that?" kurt asked 

"After that, I got some rest" I replied 

"Eleanor, I'm glad your feeling better, it's become rather rare for you to join us" Said kurt 

Eleanor looked a lot better than she did yesterday and was no longer tired 

"T-Thank you dad, I got a lot of rest" Said Eleanor 

"That's good, I'm just glad that you're feeling better" said Kurt with a smile on his face 

Serena and Ariel continued to eat as they watched with confused expressions

As I was about to head to training, Serena stopped me in the entrance 

"What happened last night?" Asked serena 

I cast Silentium, before answering her question, so only we could hear the conversation 

"Eleanor was in a bad mood, so I kind of, showed her that spell..." 

"The flying one right...?" Asked Serena as she let out a sigh 

"Yeah, that one" 

"Does she know about how you don't need to chant?" Serena asked 

"Nope" 

"Hm, alright, enjoy your training" 

"Thanks, how was training yesterday?" 

I didn't check up on them and went straight to sleep after returning eleanor to her room 

"We had to stop halfway, because someone was putting his secret at risk" 

Ah... Sorry, but how did you know...? 

'Maybe it was a fluke?' I thought to myself before leaving

As I approached the training field where me and master usually trained at, I was surprised to see another guest here. It was a guy, he looked just as old as master, around his 18s 

"Master... is that your friend?" I asked 

With a poker face, she nodded 

"Oi. I'm not her friend, I'm her older brother" He replied 

"O-Older brother? Wow... now that I think about it, you do look alike" 

He was tall and had a good frame, his hair was a dark black just like master's, his eyes were brown and the expression on his face was a lot livelier than masters. 

"The only difference is the expression..." 

"Haha, we're told that a lot, and you are?" He asked 

"I'm master's student, John" 

"Ah, I see... So you're the one my sister is training..." he muttered as he got closer 

He looked at me from the bottom to the top as if he was a.s.sessing my ability 

"Hmm... How old are you?" He asked 

"Ah, hm... I'm 12 or 13" I replied 

"You don't know your exact age?" 

"Ah, no, I lost my memories" 

"Can't you just ask your parents?" He asked 

"I'm an orphan" I replied 

"Ah, haha, you're just like us. Well then, how about we practice a little?" 

After he said that, he got into a stance, seeing that I pulled up my daggers and brought up my guard. I was getting a similar vibe that I got from master... 

"Practice? Haha, can it be lat-" 

In a single blink, his dagger was right in front of my eye, but before it could pierce me, it stopped. I leapt back and noticed that master had grabbed on to his arm 

"What are you doing?" She asked 

Even though it wasn't directed at me, I could feel the pressure in the words when she asked that. 

"Haha, sis, no need to get mad, I was just trying to see what your first disciple is made of. Although, I might have overestimated him." 

What the h.e.l.l...? I couldn't even react to that... What is he? 

"John." Master called 

"Y-Yes?!" I replied 

"Come over" She said 

I nervously walked towards them while gulping down the air stuck in my throat 

"Get in the stance." 

"Eh?" 

I don't like where this is going... 

"Attack him again" Said master to her brother after I was in the stance 

I knew it 

"Hm? Alright" He said as he went back 20 feet 

"John, focus on his attack." 

Without saying anything I nodded, and got into the stance 

This stance involved balancing my body, I practiced it all day with master yesterday, it focused on s.h.i.+fting the balance from one side to another to dodge or counter attacks, Master said it was a basic stance for countering. It's also different from the one master uses 

But will it really work? I couldn't even see him last time. 

"Start." Said the master 

Without wasting a single second, he moved again, last time I was a bit distracted because I was talking but this time I could see it, he leapt straight at me 

I instinctively, s.h.i.+fted the balance of my body from one side to another, causing me to nearly fall, but after all that practice, muscle memory took over, and it caused me to do a 90 degree turn. 

"Hoh... Not bad" He said as he looked at me 

His arm was stretched out with the dagger at the tip, because to the s.h.i.+ft, I avoided it which caused him to barely miss me. 

"Than- Ow..." 

I felt a stinging pain on the right side of my chest, when I checked it, I felt a s.h.i.+ver go down my spine. The s.h.i.+rt was cut and a bit of blood was pouring out of it. Even though I dodged, he still managed to graze me 

"Ah... Sorry, I got a little excited..." he said with a nervous smile 

Sorry... ? If I was a second slower, I would have died... 

"Well done." Said master as she gave me a pat 

"Master..." 

I think this was the first time that she had ever complimented me 

"That was the defensive stance, we'll continue training it, but for now, we're moving to offense" She said as she looked around for something 

Master's training really is helping me improve, I made the right choice asking her... But sometimes I feel like I might really die again. 

"John, cut it." She said as she pointed at a nearby boulder 

"Wait why is there a boulder over there?!" I asked 

Cut it...? She doesn't mean... Well it should be fine if I use magic 

"No magic"
