Once more I sat in the sofa opposite to the Marquis. Like usual he was sipping his d.a.m.n tea. I looked around the room. I wonder who it is that makes the tea for him. On the small wooden table there was a cup of tea for me as well. But this time it was green tea. I looked at the Marquis. His expression did not show that he put something in the tea.

Something on the inside told me that I shouldn't drink the tea this time. The Marquis set down his tea cup and looked at me with an icy expression.

"Mila. I have not seen our deal be implemented. Are you waiting for something?"

Wow. He just dived in to the subject. What an annoying a.s.shole. I glared back at him and answered.

"Marquis. I will not enact the plan until I receive my down payment."

The Marquis chuckled as he sipped his tea once more. I stared at the small cup. How much tea was in there? He's been sipping tea for over ten minutes yet the cup is still not mother f.u.c.king empty!

"Mila dear how will I be a.s.sured that you won't run away from our deal?"

I looked at the Marquis. Stupid old geezer. I've already thought about the possibility of your question.

"In that case you can send the three of your sons to come on the s.h.i.+p with me and report back to you."

The Marquis looked at me in awe. I smirked. I got you a.s.shole. You didn't expect me to propose such an idea did you? I looked down to see the Marquis's fists slightly shake as a vein in his neck pulsed. I stifled my laughter. The Marquis was now raging mad. This is perfect. Once someone is provoked it will be easier to coerce them into a decision. I have no interest in the Marquis's sons.

But the more leverage I have against this old man the better. He's quite a terrifying partner in a deal. I need to protect myself as much as I can. The Marquis chuckled then replied.

"Okay Mila but only one condition."

I looked at the Marquis. His smiling face is always bad news.

"My sons must have their personal guards attention to them at all times."

I chuckled. What a calculated condition. I had originally planned to slowly coerce the Marquis's sons to become part of m crew so that they would obey my orders over that of their father. This way I can protect Baron from being tuned in. But now with the guards protecting them I can't get close to them that easy.

It doesn't matter, having the Marquis's sons is still leverage in the end.

"Okay Marquis I agree to your condition."

The Marquis clapped his hands together as he smiled.

"Excellent! Then we should have any issues."

"I'm sorry Marquis but may I be so bold as to ask you a question?"

"You may Mila."

"Do you have a grudge against Baron? Is it related to his origins?"

The Marquis spilled tea in the table. He stood up fl.u.s.tered as he looked back at me.

"Mila. Has anyone ever told you that there are things better left unknown?"

I s.h.i.+vered at the expression that the Marquis gave me. Just how complicated and dangerous is Baron's ident.i.ty? This wasn't in the history books for sure.

I waved my hand dismissively and answered the Marquis.

"I've been told that before. I apologize for my carelessness of the situation. I just wanted to know what I was getting myself into."

The Marquis wiped his slacks with a handkerchief and nodded. He then smiled forcefully as he said.

"Mila I will provide your down payment to you in a week. During that time period I would like to see the Baron completely enchanted by you. Once your down payment is paid, I will give you two weeks to convince him to travel to Avalon instead of the Bermuda Triangle. Once you land there I will have a team of knights waiting for him to turn him in. Is that a deal?"

How long has this f.u.c.ker thought of this plan? It was intricate and well thought out. It deserves my praise. Whatever. I smiled. This f.u.c.ker doesn't know that Baron is aware of this deal. So all we have to do is pretend to be in "love" in front of him for a week. How entertaining.

"It's a deal Marquis."

The Marquis nodded as I walked towards the door. Before closing it I turned to the Marquis and said.

"Marquis. Have you ever heard of Karma?"

The Marquis looked at me with suspicion.

"What is that supposed to mean Mila?"

I closed the door as I said.

"Think nothing of it Marquis. I just wanted to say that when you wish to do something to someone, don't be shocked if the same happens to you."

I saw the Marquis's look of worry before I slammed the door shut. I sighed and stretched my arms out. I then scratched my head.

Now, where was Baron?
