Master Lu had already too much into his plate and now he had to also look up at that Lei Xinyi! Was she a plastic surgery result? But then how would that explain the almost same pitch of her voice and that unique eyes they both shared?
His daughter imposter was hundred per cent a Lei. The unusual grey eyes with golden specks were only found in their family. And apparently she was an heiress.
A Lei's presence could only mean 'The Heir's Game' had begun and if so the young woman could have been there to kill his daughter to exterminate her but how would she even know?
Lu Xinyi was supposed to be dead 15 years prior so how would they know of her residing in the Lu Family?! According to how much he knew, they shouldn't even know each other faces, the only thing they were told was the number of remaining heirs.
And the Young lady was a carbon copy of Lu Xinyi! And then relation between the Yu's and the Lei girl, from how much he knew from his intel, Yu Youhan and Li Yuan were hunting the Lei's like rabid dogs so this...
Then the girl was also pregnant with the Li's heir. A war was on the horizon and he could practically hear the war calls!
He Zheng still had his eyes fixed on Lu Xinyi worriedly, his voice brought Master in the present, "Lu Xinyi, where is Su Qing? Is she alright?"
Lu Xinyi who was already crying got out of her father back still holding his arm to a.s.sure him. She shook her head, "Doc...The doctor hasn't said anything."
At the same time, the Doctor got out of the room and Lu Xinyi hold on her father's arm tightened dreading to hear what comes next.
The Doctor looked at everybody present then turned to Master Lu, "The girl took a high dose of anti-depressant drugs over a lot of alcohol, clearly a suicide attempt." He declared and paused for the information to sink in, "The anaesthesia would wear off in about an hour then you can meet the patient and...I would suggest a psychologist."
Master Lu nodded and a.s.sured his daughter he was going to go to any extent to protect her stupid friend. Saying his piece the Doctor left.
Master Lu made sure there wasn't going to be any legal investigation nor media involvement. This was going under the rug!
He Zheng sat on the chair with a thump and held his head, Yu Jian's face morphed into torture and agony. It wasn't the first time she did it but they thought it was the last time then.
She was lucky two times but what if the third time...
He Zheng took a calming breath and looked up at Lu Xinyi, "I don't really know how to thank you. If it wasn't for you...I don't even want to think about what it could have been."
Lu Xinyi nodded with her eyes trained on the floor, there was nothing she could say.
She tried to stomach the sandwich but all her mechanism was doing was chewing and swallowing, her taste buds were numb like her mind to register anything.
Yu Youhan had called about four times and Lu Xinyi had told him, she would update him when she gets home. He was antsy and was asking her location, which she was sure he already knew but was humouring her Then she told him she was with her father, he rested his curiosity for a while.
After an hour when the nurse permitted them to meet Su Qing, they rushed inside except Yu Jian who was still recovering from the blow to his guts.
The ward was a VVIP arranged by Master Lu. It was exclusively reserved in case of an emergency for the Lu's. It was first time it was another person hosted in the ward.
Su Qing was sitting on the white sheets within a white cover in a room with white walls. It was like she was going to combust in a smoky sheet-white too. She still looks devastated but her colour was returning.
What was horrifying was that she wasn't bawling her eyes. She was just looking out of the window that was illuminating light. There was no regret, sadness or relief in her eyes. They were just empty, dark...lifeless.
She looked like a doll, dead doll.
They stood there in deep as an abyss silence, saying nothing. Perhaps... there was nothing left to say.
He Zheng was standing with a painful betrayed expression as if looking at her in this condition hurt less than her act, Lu Xinyi was reigning her heart from bursting with grief, she felt like her emotions were in overdrive and MasterLu was straight-way glaring at Su Qing.
"So How was it? Did you see angels or h.e.l.l?" Su Qing who was frozen up until now frowned and blinked at the new voice she has never heard before.
She was expecting wailing and cries at what she had done. She deserved to hear what would rip her soul by tenfold at what she had done.
She was ready for it but not this.
She slowly turned her head at the voice to see an infamously renown Military Ex-General glaring at her with a piercing razor-sharp gaze, she didn't know him but Lu Xinyi presence explained him too.
She stammered to form a sentence,"Yo...You! Ho...How?"
Before she could utter even a proper word Master Lu coldly cut her off, "Did you have a good chit-chat with G.o.d?" His serious expressionless-face gave no emotion away that he was taunting her.
Su Qing looked at him with her features contoured in pain but Master Lu who had lived half his life in a war zone, had led his life and taught his children with an iron fist.
Broken people didn't need sympathy and pity at their state, they needed a little light to be shed on their pieces and it could never be done on a pillow-talk. It is meant to be harsh.
"Why?" Su Qing met his harsh glare at his cold question that she wasn't ready to even acknowledge the answer herself.
A tear slipped down her cheek and she averted her gaze to the blank-white comforter on her "...I had many reasons to." Her voice broke cutting her soul several meters deeper.
Master Lu didn't look fazed by her pain or internal battle, "And did not have one reason not to?"
