Su Qing looked up at him with a grateful smile and Master Lu gave her a nod of acknowledgement and patted her head as he did with Lu Xinyi.
"Be strong, you can make this world better for you and many others just by trying to." Su Qing nodded with watery eyes.
The door was opened at that time with a 'THUD' and a very ruffled Madam Lu entered with her breaths coming in pants.
Instantly a smile rose on Master Lu face at the woman who had done a very ungraceful entry and now was straightening in a posture and moving her eyes until they landed on Su Qing on the bed.
She at once almost lunged at Su Qing but Master Lu held by her shoulders to stop her from squis.h.i.+ng the skinny girl. Madam Lu steadied herself then squealed, "Oh, Baby girl! You scared me!"
She held Su Qing hands who was still looking at her in bewilderment, "I am your biggest fan! I see all your dramas, movies and runway shows. I even comment ten times on your every Weibo post!"
He Zheng looked surprised and Lu Xinyi was pouting in annoyance. Everyone who knew Madam Lu knew her intense fandom of Su Qing.
Lu Xinyi subtly glared at her step-mother who was hovering over Su Qing, HER friend! If it was up to she wouldn't even call her but her Dad wanted to call her! She wanted to jeopardize everything that mattered to Lu Xinyi!
At that time the door was knocked and Lu Han entered with the Housekeeper in tow who was carrying a big food basket. He looked at his mother animatedly talking and shook his head then nodded at Lu Xinyi who returned it with a glare.
Madam Lu was jumping like a high school girl who had just finally gotten her crush alone. Su Qing by now was smiling, her grief long-buried. She was nodding and replying her questions attentively.
Madam Lu hadn't left her hand even now, "I want to have a selfie with you that I will hang in my bedroom!"
Su Qing promised her once she was picture-perfect again, she would make a picture alb.u.m with her with all the poses she wanted.
Lu Han smirked and added, "And Mom wants you to sign her breast."
Everyone eyes widened and they looked at Lu Han in horror who was still leaning against the door and smirking in amus.e.m.e.nt.
Madam Lu gasped and put her hands on her hips. She gave Lu Han one of her laser piercing eye, "Don't scare the girl already!"
Lu Han smug grin didn't falter instead he shrugged, "I was just giving the girl a heads up."
Master Lu chuckled in amus.e.m.e.nt pulled Madam Lu backwards, "Darling, the little squirrel there is sick and needs her rest. When we get home I will sign your breast."
Madam Lu reddened and everyone else in the room erupted in a peal of merry laughter. They chatted for a while avoiding talking about anything that would sadden Su Qing or further hurt He Zheng.
The Lu Family were doing their best efforts to lighten the mood when Yu Jian entered, the room was submerged in a pin-drop-silence at once. Master Lu held Madam Lu held and asked them to give the couple some privacy.
Everyone left, it was only Su Qing and Yu Jian. She was looking at the sheets like there was some prophecy written in an ancient inscription. He was standing above her with an unreadable expression.
"Wasn't I even worth breathing?" Su Qing heard him and closed her eyes in the agony of the words, "I would have followed you." Yu Jain confessed quietly.
Su Qing turned her head to him with shock written all over her delicate features, "Don't be stupid!"
"Why? Only you have the right to be stupid?" Su Qing tore away her gaze from him and looked at the sheet instead. There was no reasoning with him anyway.
He always did what he thought was best, right or wrong hardly held a candle in his life.
Yu Jain sat on the bed, held her hand forcing her to look at him, "I bought a new villa in the mountainside. Let's get back together."
"We can't." A whisper left Su Qing with a tear that ripped her wound bare.
"Why?" The hurt in his voice was as clear as desperation but there was nothing she could do for him, she was helpless against the course of life.
"You know why."
Yu Jain didn't know that she was barren, he just knew about their lost child. She didn't want to tell him. He thought she broke up with him because she couldn't handle the loss.
It wasn't his responsibility to look for her broken or ripped pieces.
If he knew, he would blame himself and feel obliged to marry her when it was all Su Qianwei's fault. She didn't want a granted love or relation she had enough pity for today. He was a good man but she just wasn't the right woman.
Lei Xinyi was the best Doctor there was, she literally played with organs in her childhood and when she had done a medical check-up, she straightway told her she was barren and prescribed her some medicines. At the end of the day, Lei Xinyi was no G.o.d too, her vulnerability testified it.
Su Qing was in her late teens then, dating one of the most eligible bachelors and heir of one of the most powerful and wealthy families in the continent. she was envied and was a little innocent sweetheart.
Like every teenage dreaming girl she fantasized about her future, after a dream wedding she pictured having a family with Yu Jian and now all these dreams and fantasies were like a p.r.i.c.k in her heart. Lei Xinyi was the only family she knew since then.
Since her break up from Yu Jian, her parents discarded her from their life, her sister had betrayed her only Lei Xinyi was there to stay and now...
With a heavy sigh, Yu Jian gave her a pained smile with pleading eyes, "Come home with me. I will take care of you."
