The Demon King's Cowardly Vessel 100 Family, Money... Weapons

President Presley was slightly taken aback by the tone of the teenage boy in front of him, who seemed and according to rumors, to be quite timid. However, he quickly regained his composure and narrowed his eyes at Juin, hoping to find out more about him through his body language. 

But Juin merely looked at him, seemingly a different boy from the one President Presley met at the library days ago. 

"Yes, you didn't… It was a little presumptuous of me to think that…" President Presley said after a moment of silence. He then chuckled and continued, "Well, if you are interested, you can call me with the card as well."

"Then my chance of calling you to bail me out would be used just like that?"

Upon hearing the question, President Presley laughed softly. "No, don't worry about it. I'll break the rules and let you use it twice." 

Juin nodded before pocketing the card in his back pocket. He then looked up at President Presley and asked, "What do I get from joining your group?"

"Protection," President Presley answered immediately. "As well as resources…"

"Resources?" 

"Family, money…" President Presley smiled and said, "and powerful weapons."

He then straightened his blazer and said, "You have called upon a powerful demon, one that seems to be giving you some unknown strengths… As you might have known by now, Luca is one of us, and I've seen his injuries from his fight with you."

"He started it," Juin said defensively. 

"And I believe you," President Presley said and chuckled. "Luca is talented, but I have spoiled him a little too much. I have to apologize on his behalf." 

Juin was surprised that the man in front of him was so humble. It was not a behavior he expected from the president of the Order from where Luca Rockefeller hailed from. Feeling a little fl.u.s.tered, he mumbled as he waved his hand nonchalantly, "It's fine… As long as he doesn't try it again."

"I have warned him…" President Presley rea.s.sured Juin. He then said, "Because of that fight and Luca's description, I know that you and your demon have merged together, and I think it's safe for me to a.s.sume that you have signed a contract with it?"

"Don't confirm anything…" Lucifer's voice suddenly came into Juin's ears. His tone seemed to be laced with warning, thus Juin did not say anything.

But it wasn't like President Presley was waiting for a confirmation from him. 

The man continued talking after a moment of silence, "I know that it's probably listening in to us at the moment. Mr. Juin, as strong as a demon could be, on Earth, it's strength is limited, especially since it came as a soul. It has a limited reserve of energy, and unlike in their own worlds, it takes a long time for them to replenish their spent energy. 

"But with certain weapons, you can increase its strength and conserve its energy, thus making it more efficient and better for the two of you."

Juin remained silent. He merely waited for President Presley to tell him things. 

"And you're no longer fully human, Mr. Juin," President Presley said, his tone darkening all of a sudden. "It's not just the Order; the Nakamura Family is also keeping an eye on you… Not to mention the other smaller groups. At this moment, you are just a baby, easy to get rid of even by the smallest supernatural group."

President Presley was convinced that Juin was housing a powerful demon soul within him. Thus, he was doing his best to convince Juin to join the Order. And he had to act fast. According to the latest intelligence that he received, members of the Dark Night Clan have been seen nearby. 

President Presley was sure that they were coming after Juin. Three years ago, that demonic aura that they felt, the one that caused even someone like President Presley to sweat profusely... came from the same direction as Bayfront Coast. Because of that incident, President Presley sent his people to scout the area for the demon. 

And some of the men he placed in a city near Bayfront Coast after the incident sent him a report, that a suffocating demonic aura could be felt a few days ago. Based on one of them, the aura seemed to have come from Bayfront Coast. 

Not only did President Presley know from his research that Juin used to be fostered there, but he could also confirm that Juin was there a few days ago based on his talk with the clueless Mrs. Martin.

Hence, he had a feeling that Juin was related to the incident from three years ago. Even though he had not known the how of it, he was determined to bring Juin into the Order before anyone could s.n.a.t.c.h him out. 

Even if he was wrong about that, at least he was sure that there was a demon soul within Juin, one that could defeat one of their strongest young Elementalist, so it would still be a good idea to bring Juin in. 

Because of that, President Presley had to make sure that no one could get their hands on Juin, especially the Dark Night Clan, which had been collecting demons like pebbles. The clan moved fast, and the demons that were sighted all over the world lately were either killed off by them or taken in, thus increasing the strength of their clan. 

If this continued, the Dark Night Clan might one day overtake both the Order and the Nakamura Family, which would mean disasters for both humans and supernatural humans. 

As for Juin… Even though the Dark Night Clan cared about the purity of blood, if the demon in Juin was proved to be a high-ranking demon, they would definitely make an exception for him. Especially in the advent of the Battle of the Underground Beings. 

"Why are you guys so interested in me?" Juin suddenly asked. 

"We are not interested in you," President Presley said with a smile, but the way his eyes narrowed slightly made Juin feel as if he were being preyed upon by a predator. "We are only trying to protect you. If the Nakamura Family gets a confirmation that your power comes from a demon, they would force you to join their ranks… Or they would exorcise the demon soul within you."
