"What a good sleep!" Naga said while stretching his arms.
He stood up and went to the manor. He asked where Old Samuel is from one of their servants. He went to Bill's office. There, he saw Old Samuel and Bill looking at some doc.u.ments.
"You guys are quite busy." Naga smiles and sat down on one of the chairs.
"My Lord." Bill said. He was about to stand up but Naga gestured at him to just sit down.
"Your nap is longer than your meeting. You didn't even give them fine wines to enjoy." Old Samuel said smiling.
"Nah... Our celebration will be next month. We are almost done with the preparation. You should come." Naga said and smiled.
"Definitely. It's my honor to attend the official start of your Silver Sparrow Family." Old Samuel accepted responded.
"Those doc.u.ments." Naga said.
"These came from the Azure Demon Empire. A general visited the city and saw Old Drun's creations. He wanted it specially the armors." Old Samuel said and gave the papers to Naga.
"I see." Naga took the doc.u.ments and checked.
He asked, "What did Old Drun said?"
"He agreed but only for limited quant.i.ty. The empire already approved it too." Bill said.
"That Old Orc said that when he was young, a captain from the empire saved him when he was doing his coming of age mission. It was centuries ago. Hahaha!" Old Samuel said.
"So this is like him paying back the late captain? Then good." Naga smiled.
"The Old Orc will go to the empire too for this deal which is the reason why he is so busy right now. He wanted the city and our store to have enough supplies until then. He has seven students now. All talented. Two will go with him. Oscar will go with him too as his personal guard." Old Samuel said.
"I see. That is good to know." Naga said.
"My Lord, Albert's ranger squad discover something west of the city. A demon's den. A new one. They are planning to raid it to avoid any future problems." Bill said.
"A new demon's den? Who created it? How new?" Naga frowned.
"Five years at least. We investigated and found out that there are missing person cases from time to time. Usually in the commoner's area and slums so n.o.body really cares." Old Samuel said.
"Who created it? Why didn't anyone notice it before? Did you ask the officials of the City Lord's Mansion?" Naga asked curiously.
"Yes, among their scouts and rangers, there are no true experts and it is just usual
for demons to have high level spells to hide or conceal their teritory. It's just that Albert is an elf with good understanding of nature as a ranger. Elf rangers are the best scouts." Old Samuel proudly said.
"I see. That's cool. Then when?" Naga asked and smiled.
"No exact date and time yet. They are fully preparing for it." Old Samuel replied.
"I see. I'll go and take a look. I will bring Hextor with me." Naga said and stood up.
"Now?" Old Samuel smiled.
"My Lord, would you like me to..." Bill was about to go as well but Naga lightly shook his head.
"Stay here. You are the lord of the house. I will deal with this, consider this a gift from our Silver Sparrow Family to the City." Naga smiled and went outside.
Naga sent a telepathic message to Hextor. Naga waited near the city's western gate.
"My Lord. I had surveyed the area and I saw some resources that you may want. Also, there are no dragons but... there are two demon dens."
"Two? I heard about one and we will visit it actually." Naga asked
"Yes, there are two. One located here in the west and one located near a mountain just a few miles away outside the city teritory. It seems that they are planning to do a big raid." Hextor said.
"This is more serious than I thought. It seems that the one here in the west is under the command of the demon den you found outside. Go to the manor first and report it to Old Samuel. Tell him that Albert and Dilan will need to go with me tonight." Naga said.
He continued, "I will wait for the ranger's squad and Dilan in the forest. After that, go to the demon den outside the city and make sure that they won't be able to send any backup and reinforcements. I will destroy the den here in the west tonight."
"Yes, My Lord." Hextor lightly bowed.
He gave more location detail to Naga before he hastily flew toward the manor. After watching the leaving Hextor, Naga started to move as well. As a reconnaissance squad captain in his youth from his previous life, Naga enjoyed doing this type of task. He actually wanted to help Albert when Bill mentioned about the den since he wanted to reminisce the past but he didn't expect the situation to be this serious though.
With his scout and recon skill along with the information given by Hextor, he was able to locate the den without any problem. He fused his eyes with dragon mana to clearly see the environment. It bypa.s.s the concealment spell setup by the demons.
Naga stayed near a huge tree a few kilometers away from the den. He looked at the den and saw that these demons are humanoid beings. Some demons have blue skins while some are red. There is a huge tent at the middle and it looks like the leader's camp.
Albert and Dilan arrived with a ranger squad after two hours.
"Naga welcome back! It is good that you will help us." Albert said.
"Naga. Good to see you back" Dilan said.
Naga smiled and said, "Let's talk more later after this."
He looked at the group and said, "I have a scroll that can disable the concealment spell and other magic formation. But before that, you guys, the respected ranger squad, will need to do a surprise attack. After that I will activate the scroll so me, Albert and Dilan can attack the front directly. When we attack, you need to fall back and secure any possible escape route for the demon so you can ambush those who will run."
"Young master... young sir, are we going to succeed?" A young ranger squad asked.
"Of course. We will do this for our friends and family in the city. We will win. Definitely." Naga said.
"We have 15 rangers so split to 3 groups. You will do surprise attack them in three different sections." Naga told them.
The rangers were divided into three groups. They scouted the area again and look for the best three spots to start their surprise attack. They get into their positions and currently waiting for Naga's go signal.
Naga casted his arcane power blessing to the rangers. This technique was greatly improve when Naga became Arcane Master.
"This! I can feel the surge of power!" One of the rangers said.
"Go! Move!" Naga gave the telepathic command.
The rangers used their bows first. Some used arrow showers while others used elemental magic to their arrows. After that, they drew their swords and attacked directly.
Naga gave the signal to Dilan to get ready with a powerful magic attack. He waited for the demon to panic and to became total mess before giving the go signal to Dilan to attack and for the rangers to fall back.
Naga took the scroll from his earring's storage s.p.a.ce as well to get ready. When Naga saw that the rangers successfully launch their attack and the demons seems to use magic formations, he activated the scroll. "Bboom!"
"Dilan, go! Rangers, fall back!" Naga gave command.
The rangers hastily left the den. The demons were shocked since their magic trap and formation didn't work.
"Flame Heaven's Wrath!" Dilan casted his strongest fire magic. 'Bbaaaammm!'
