The young master lay frivolously in her lap, his face plastered with a giddy smile. His eyes were closed, but Miya didn't believe for one second that he was asleep. In fact, she thought she saw him beam subconsciously, more than a few times. She could barely hold in a laugh.
This man… sometimes, he was too cute!
She scanned the contours of his flawless face, studied those inviting lips, and was automatically drawn. She was still ruffling his hair, but right then, she had the urge to kiss him again. She couldn't though.
That would mean tempting herself to danger.
She recalled the young master kissing her over and over again, the taste of his mouth still lingering on her lips. Thankfully, her heart had now slowed down to a low beat, and she could control her own raging emotions.
Somehow, the events from last night, and from today, made her feel like she had just got off a roller coaster ride.
Miya looked at Jimmy again, concentrated on the slow rise and thump of his chest. Well… just one kiss couldn't be that bad. She fixed her eyes on the young man's lips.
And she would have taken advantage, but the man's eyes shot open just when she was scrutinizing her chances of getting away with the act.
Jim's lips curled into a dazzling smile. Miya's heart leapt, and she mentally slapped herself thrice.
"You know," he said, looking up directly into her eyes, "If you stare at me anymore, I'll flip you over and kiss you again."
Well…
Miya was startled at the words. A faint blush crept up her neck, but she remained silent.
Now that, the young master hadn't expected.
Indignity, and a loud "No!", he had. But quiet? No.
That was interesting.
Smirking, he wiggled his head in her lap to adjust it better. Then with his most exquisite smile and a determinedly flirtatious voice, he remarked, "I must be really good in bed, my dear, if I have shut up THE Miya Jimmy Hunter. Aren't you going to tell me I'm the biggest pervert on earth?"
And the all too familiar mortification spread on her face again. Jimmy chuckled happily.
Here she went.
"You…!" Miya's reply was automatic, "Can't you stop flirting?! And I am Miya, not Miya Jimmy Hunter! Stop calling me that, or I'll start calling you Jimmy Miya Lang from now on. I swear!"
"Lang?"
"It's the name of my village."
"You use it as your surname?"
"No, I'm using it to threaten you!"
"Miya?"
"Yes!"
"Doesn't 'lang' mean wolf?"
"It does."
That was enough for Jim to burst out laughing.
He sat up straight too, just to hold his sides so that his ribs wouldn't hurt.
"Miya The Wolf!" he cried out, his vision bleary from amused tears.
The missus, however, was not amused.
She picked up a pillow and threw it at his face. She would have hit him too, but the man dodged her attack skilfully.
"And the wolf attacks!" he then declared. He saw the missus reach out for yet another pillow, but before she could, Jim leapt down the bed and rushed into the bathroom. Before he shut the door, he yelled out, "I win!"
The pillow hit the door instead.
Night fell.
Miya walked about the room, dressed in her brown and white pyjamas again. She checked her clothes for signs of holes, or any way whatsoever from which her skin could be exposed. When she was satisfied that the only visible part of her body was her neck, face, fists and feet, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She had promised Jim a long, deep conversation tonight. Which meant she wouldn't go too close to him, and definitely not let any part of her get into direct contact with his skin.
Because Heaven knew her thoughts were impure!
She was attracted to the man, and she didn't like it one bit. Well, not when she thought about it with her brain.
Also, weird as it was, she didn't know how to go about the conversation with Jimmy too. What would she tell him? And how much?
She still hadn't decided.
And the fact remained, that how much did he already know?
Miya sighed.
She had contacted Mr. Park, and asked if she could come over and pick up Ben. The butler had informed her that Ben was with Simon Hunter. That had scared Miya unnaturally. She had been quick to call the Chairman, it was almost midnight after all. But the old Hunter hadn't picked up the call. In fact, he had rejected it thrice.
She did however, receive a video from him thirty minutes later, along with the words, "Let him sleep. Tired."
The video was of Ben snoring softly, as he lay comfortably on a couch, properly covered with a sheet.
Miya had sighed in relief. But it seemed the Chairman was still mad at her.
Well, she had crossed a line, so it was kind of obvious.
Albeit it would be easier, talking to Jim without the fear of Ben overhearing them, but she still would have liked the comfort of her son's presence. She would want moral support, if she was going to talk about her past.
Finally. To someone.
No… to Jimmy.
The door creaked open.
Miya stopped pacing around and looked up at the familiar figure of her husband, as he stood against the door frame. He had gone off to the headquarters for some work, but somehow, he looked refreshed instead of being tired.
He smiled when he said, "Ready?"
Miya nodded stiffly.
Jim noticed the tense expression on the wife's face, and he knew she was uncomfortable. It was expected. It would be strange if she wasn't. But, really, when he thought about the events from the last day till tonight, he still couldn't believe this strange, impossible turn of circ.u.mstances.
The wife had agreed to talk about herself.
In fact, she had been the one to suggest it.
A strange warmth made home in the young master's heart. He looked the missus up and down, and an idea struck him. He shrugged, then called out loud,
"Little Mouse, let's start."
Miya opened her mouth in nervousness, about to say something, when her mind concentrated on just two words.
Little Mouse.
There. Jim had hit home.
"What?" she frowned back, now confused.
"What?" Jim shot back too.
Miya's scowl deepened.
"Little… what did you say?"
"Oh, that. Little Mouse. Aren't you cute like one? Especially when you wear these brown pyjamas of yours."
Miya couldn't believe this man thought of her as a mouse.
A mouse!
"I am not a mouse!" she retorted crossly. Jim simply shrugged again.
"Of course not," he then told her rather dismissively, "Strange as you are, I still believe you are human."
Okay. This man was picking a fight.
Jim pressed his lips to hold his chuckle, instantly relieved that the missus wasn't anxious anymore. She was fuming though, but that he somehow preferred.
"I won't quarrel with you," Miya then said with utter determination.
Jim pushed her patience, just a bit further.
"Of course you won't," he remarked with slight disdain, "Not when you won't win."
That was it.
"You…!"
Miya glared at the man, and then launched herself at him. She was ready to slap at his chest, or punch a hole in it, when Jim held both her clenched fists in each hand. She would have crashed into his chest or fallen back, but he held her tight so that she was simply standing close to him.
The young man smirked, his eyes sparkling mischievously.
"And we're close again," he stated.
Miya wasn't pleased.
"What?" she scowled, though, and Jim chuckled.
"Come on now," he said in mock exasperation, "I thought you caught on that I've been flirting with you?"
With that, he dipped his head, and without warning stole yet another kiss.
Miya froze. And her mouth fell open wide.
What?
What!
But… NO!
She had just sworn to herself there would be no contact! This Jimmy Hunter…
d.a.m.n it!
