Jimmy however, only blushed slightly. He had heard the girl praise him as 'cute' two times before, after all. So, he recovered quickly, instead reminding himself that he was furious.

At both the old man and his bride.

And when he gave them both a harsh look, that none of them took notice of – for one was blus.h.i.+ng furiously, and the other laughing in hysteria – Jim's anger trebled.

"Miya Jimmy Hunter!" he instantly thundered, his eyes dark with rage, "You explain this to me right now!"

Miya was so shocked at the loud bellow of the young master, that she instantly stopped laughing. She looked at him with wide eyes, surprised that he had called her Miya Jimmy Hunter, again. Moreover…

Why the h.e.l.l was he suddenly shouting?

"Y-Yes…" she blurted out instinctively though, slightly afraid now.

Jimmy Hunter's face had darkened. And he looked at her with such a brooding expression, she couldn't help but flinch. It was almost as if a dark cloud had surrounded the man and the temperature around him had dropped to freezing point.

Jim sized her up, as if he were summoning her for battle. When he saw her look afraid, he felt somewhat satisfied, but his face didn't betray the emotion. He stiffly folded his arms across his chest and continued to glare.

Miya was at a loss of words.

What did this man want? Hadn't she just saved his father? What was he so angry about then?

Before her thoughts could run astray with conjectures though, Jim rewarded her with his cold, stern voice, "Why did I find you hanging upside down from a tree, when I just left you in a room?"

Miya immediately frowned. Her first instinct was to retort with, "It's none of your business!", but then she remembered that Simon Hunter was with them too. The old man's face was no longer red, and he was watching Jimmy with a bland look.

Was the young master acting this hyped up because they had to pretend to be married? Oh, no, they were actually married. But was he behaving this concerned because he was supposed to play protective?

d.a.m.n it, she had not discussed this with him before! And she had definitely not thought it through while agreeing to the marriage!

Therefore, in order to oblige him, Miya suppressed her own anger at the man for having yelled at her. Instead, she said silently.

"Something came up."

Jim was obviously not happy. But before he had the chance to howl again, he noticed something strange.

Miya had frozen up.

Miya had been ready for Jim's outburst, when another squall of wind brushed through her skin. It also made the kite in Mr. Simon Hunter's hand fly around haphazardly for a second, and then drop down. It was then that she noticed the painting on the kite. She instantly froze.

It was a creepy looking face that had been drawn onto the kite, almost similar to the painted face of the man who had attacked her with the slingshot earlier.

Miya recalled the Chairman insulting Jimmy, insisting that the kite had been made by him. That it even had a face on it, and he was going to retrieve it anyhow. Now that she thought about it, the events made sense.

It was easy to connect the dots.

Her entire demeanour grew cold, and she looked at the old Chairman with dangerous eyes. Jim raised his brow in question, as he watched Miya's face drop. Then he was startled slightly, as he saw her look at his father with havoc in her eyes.

Even though clearly angry, her eyes were still very beautiful.

The young master shrugged.

"Focus, Jimmy!" He yelled at himself internally, "Don't act stupid now!"

Meanwhile, it only took Mr. Simon Hunter a second to realize that he had been found out. The look that the girl then gave him, stabbed daggers into his heart.

He was definitely unlucky today.

Had she been just the rustic woman he had found out that she was, the Chairman wouldn't have cared at all. But not only had she saved his life single-handedly, she also seemed to possess some amazing skills.

To top it all, she had heard him insult her as well, and now she had found out about his sneaky act too.

That, when he hadn't even had a proper conversation with the girl!

d.a.m.n, if Simon Hunter had known that this small girl would somehow not be the simple peasant that he had thought she would be, he would never have acted this rash.

She must think he was the biggest sc.u.mbag on earth!

Senior Hunter gulped, and then, in a low voice said, "Can we talk?"

Miya only slightly nodded her head. But before she could turn around and walk away to a secluded corner in the field, Jimmy held her hand.

He was not going to let this go.

Even though he did not understand what had just pa.s.sed between his father and the girl, he knew something was not right. Simon Hunter had clearly met her only when she had caught him on that tree.

Why now then, did his father look at her so guiltily? Even initiating to have a talk?

Contrary to his conclusions, had the old man actually done something to hurt Miya?

The notion immediately blackened Jim's face.

"Answer me. Properly," was all he said, as he tightened his hold on her hand. Miya winced slightly in pain, as her arms hurt even now from grabbing the old man for so long. Jim noticed it and immediately let her go.

Miya's eyes lost some of the danger in them. She looked at Jimmy calmly, and said, "It was boring in there. I just wanted to explore."

Lies!

The woman was afraid to look up from the ground when he was taking her though his palace earlier. Explore, and on her own?

His a.s.s!

Jimmy breathed harshly, and when he noticed a slight cut beneath her right eye, he wanted to kill something. The wound looked fresh and bled fairly. Anger surged within him. With a demonic face, he turned to look at Simon Hunter.

Before he could say anything though, his father blurted out already, "Alright, I should have listened to you and not climbed the tree. I admit it! Now can I talk to her in peace?"

"No," was all Jim said.

He then took her hand and dragged her away.

Miya was surprised.

What the h.e.l.l was Mr. Hunter doing? She still had to settle the matter of the slingshot man with his father. Why was he interfering?!

The girl was ready to retort. So, she forcefully stopped walking and looked at Jim with a lot of indignation in her eyes. Just when she was about to open her mouth though, Jim lightly held her face.

Then he muttered coldly:

"If you utter a single word, woman, I'll kiss you right here, right now. And it's not going to be a simple peck on the cheek. So follow me, and get your wound dressed first."

Miya didn't move.

What. The. h.e.l.l.
