"So you really did run around the academy with a knife!" The Headmaster gave a hearty laugh.

Kyvas couldn't help but chuckle. 'Breaking! Knife wielding psycho runs through a school. More at 10.'

"Shut up, you! And it's 10 already." Krys glared at the knife.

The Headmaster broke into another laugh.

"And you're talking to it as well! To see the rumours weren't false, haha!"

Krys narrowed his eyes. "Just get in your room, old man. We have a situation on our hands."

The headmaster dismissed him with a wave of his hand, still laughing.

"Oh, stop it. You know the Queen was just jesting with you." The Headmaster wiped a tear from his eye. "You won't be locked up if you can't finish the commission. No need to make a big commotion out of it." He patted Krys's shoulder.

Krys promptly gave a glare.

The Headmaster saw it and shook his head, then walked to the door and opened it.

"I'm not joking, Lyre. We have an actual problem here." Krys frowned.

The Headmaster just gestured for Krys to enter and held the door open.

"We'll see what you have to say, heh. Come on in now, the corridor seems chillier than usual."

Krys did not drop his frown, but obliged, heading into the room. The Headmaster followed suit after him, shutting the door behind him.

Inside, Kyvas saw a room much smaller and more bare-bones than he had expected.

It was about triple the size of a cubicle, fairly small for a Headmaster according to Kyvas. It had a single desk in the middle of it, again not as large as one would expect from one built for a Headmaster. It had one of those metal terminals built into it as well.

The walls were unadorned, made of the same exposed bricks Kyvas had seen elsewhere. The only exception being a map of the world hanging directly behind the desk. The only items of luxury in the room were the carpeted floors and the large plush chair sitting behind the desk. Two smaller, less plush chairs lay on the other side of the desk.

The content on the desk were also few. Just a plaque with the Headmaster's name. A small stack of doc.u.ments and another stack of blank paper. A Quill. A bottle of ink with Krys's name on it (which Krys scoffed at for some reason). A small desk clock and two small portraits. One was of the Headmaster's likeness, and was being used as a paperweight. The other was of him, a lady and two young women. His family, Kyvas guessed.

Krys sat on one of the chairs for visitors and waited while the Headmaster lumbered over to his chair and sat down leisurely.

"We need to contact the Immortal." Krys stated matter of factly.

The Headmaster was taken aback.

He leaned forward and looked Krys in the eye, all signs of a smile vanis.h.i.+ng immediately. "...That is not something to be asked for lightly, Jafferi. I hope you have a good reason for it."

Krys nodded gravely. "It's good enough. Jach's already composing a letter."

The Headmaster closed his eyes slowly. Then proceeded to sink back into his seat in thought.

Krys rested Kyvas on the table and played with his hilt, waiting for an answer.

'Stop that.' Muttered Kyvas. 'Feels really weird.'

Krys nodded and stopped, but kept a hand on his hilt to maintain communications anyway.

The Headmaster sighed, opened his eyes, and reached for a blank sheet of paper and his quill.

"I'm giving you the permission." He gave Krys a look and started writing something on the paper. "But, I'll only send it to Jach once you tell me everything about what happened."

Krys pushed Kyvas towards the Headmaster. "Touch this, you'll know what happened."

The Headmaster nodded without looking up. He decided to finish the permission slip first. It didn't take long.

After that he inspected the dagger visually and frowned.

"You told me the Self-Repair repaired this instantaneously. Why is it repairing so slowly now, then?" He asked Krys, while moving to touch the dagger.

'Maybe because I'm in it?' Kyvas replied before Krys did.

"Wah!", Krys's reply got cut short even before it began as the Headmaster gave a startled shout and retracted his hand.

"Your dagger, it talked!", his eyes were wide open.

Krys couldn't help but let a small grin show. But that soon gave way to another grim look.

"Him, not it. Kyvas Troy."

'Hi!' Kyvas greeted, though his voice didn't reach anyone, as no one was in physical contact with him.

"We might have summoned a person into the dagger."

The Headmaster stared slack-jawed at the Professor.

Then without saying anything, signed the permission, hence letting the quill network send it to Jach.

"From the start. I need to know everything." He nodded at Krys.

===

Krys and Kyvas spent the next hour or so recounting everything they could about the summoning. Kyvas did not speak much about what happened on his end. He was scared that if they knew that he had suffered the effects of the summoning for 3 months instead of just a week, they would decide not to contact the Immortal. Every day here was equaled half a month on Earth. He did not want to think about what would happen if they were unable to come up with a solution in the next few days.

At one point in the midst of the explanation, the Headmaster set up his quill again, preparing to get the letter that Jach should have sent back by then. Unfortunately, the quill spit out all of his messages chronologically, and it took him half a dozen sheets of paper before he finally received the letter from Jach.

Half of the notices before that turned out to be complaints by other teachers about Krys and him running around with a dagger.

Krys, without batting an eye, pushed all the blame to Kyvas. But that didn't fool the Headmaster.

The Headmaster finally decided to summarize what the two had told him.

"You and Jach decided to use the dagger to cast the summoning spell. The summoning spell worked, becoming the first spell to affect a living directly. It summoned you, Kyvas, but only your... conscience? I can't follow that part. Anyway, it summoned you into the dagger. And you are from another world. And the world you came from doesn't have any magic."

'That's the gist of it, yes.' Kyvas confirmed. Now both the headmaster and the Professor were in contact with him, making it possible for him to relay his thoughts to the two.

The Headmaster sighed. "...We need to keep him a secret." He pointed to Kyvas.

Krys nodded in agreement.

"If word of him goes out, there's going to be too many out there willing to get their hands on him. Or worse, attempting to repeat the experiment." The Headmaster continued.

Kyvas frowned at their priorities, but he knew they were right, so said nothing of them.

"Which is why we have to try and send him back as soon as we can." Krys said. "And we need the Immortal's help for that."

The headmaster agreed with that notion, then looked down at the dagger and scratched his short, scraggly beard.

The room stood in silence for a short while, the only sound coming from the beard being scratched.

Then the Headmaster stopped and tapped on Kyvas's handle.

"...Say, you did not enchant him with Telepathy. How can he send his thoughts without it?"

Krys's eyes widened. "You're right!" He bounced off of his seat and grasped Kyvas from the table. He immediately drew a set of runes in the air and sent his mana into them.

Kyvas felt weird. Like something was probing his insides.

'Yuck--', He muttered.

He knew it was likely the effect of the spell, however, so he did his best to not fight against that feeling.

A moment later he saw Krys frown.

"None of the enchantments, bar the Self-Repair ones, are on the dagger anymore." He shared his findings with the other two. "This is weird. It didn't explode like usual during the experiment. The cracks were from the deterioration due to so much mana. That shouldn't have...Hm..."

The Headmaster just tilted his head in confusion.

Krys noted the Headmaster's confusion after a glance at him.

"You see, there was this small fluctuation when the spell first started. I'm just wondering about that." He said.

'What do you think it was?' Kyvas asked.

Krys's eyes widened. "There! It happened again! It looks like..."

A moment later Krys lightly slapped his forehead and stared at Kyvas again. "Kyvas! Say something! Quick!"

The intensity of his request took Kyvas by surprise.

'O-okay?' He muttered.

"No, no, no something longer!" Krys almost yelled.

'I would if you give some some time to speak, you idiot!' Kyvas yelled back.

"That'll do" Krys grinned, a gleam in his eye.

He took Kyvas over to the Headmaster. "Here! Observe him when he speaks."

The Headmaster blinked and reached out for Kyvas. "Alright then."

He moved his hands and drew the same runes as Krys did earlier in the air.

The gut-probing feeling redoubled. Kyvas groaned.

'Can you guys please stop doing that? It does not feel good at all.' He pleaded.

His pleading was met with glimmering eyes. Kyvas felt a chill run up the edge of his spine.

"He's emulating the telepathy enchantment whenever he speaks. Interesting." The Headmaster mused. Krys nodded.

...

The next half hour was spent with Kyvas acting like a lab rat. The two made him use every single form of telepathy he could. Generic, Exclusive, Sending Images... All the while probing his insides constantly.

Needless to say, by the end of it Kyvas wanted to cry.
