Regan looked at him, her green eyes lit with rage, "excuse me?"
Vixen grabbed Regan's face and held it firmly but gently in his hand, "you think I'd have enough patience to listen to your rant if I didn't have a tad bit of interest in you?"
Regan flinched as the temperature in the room dropped, "what?"
"Shut up. Do you think you're special?" Vixen laughed his smile holding a belittling grin, "yea, you're right this is an asylum, so have a bit of common sense. You should be happy you know? The only reason why you stand out right now is because I find you interesting and the only reason why you are interesting is because you remind me of someone."
Vixen pulled her face closer.
"You think you're the only serial killer here? My father is here and he has murdered more than the people residing in half of this building. So what if I'm bored? Of course I am. It's only normal when I am surrounded by monsters in human skin like my dad and even normal unfortunate people who sadden me to even look at. But you? You are the most ordinary here so of course it's fascinating. You aren't basic nor overwhelming and it's fun to pick on you," Vixen grinned, "but so what? Deranged? Special? Don't make me laugh. It's so pathetic it's funny. But then again that's your charm right?"
Vixen pushed Regan's face away then picked up a tissue and wiped away spaghetti sauce on her lips, "when you're done acting like the victim maybe you'll realize that this isn't a hospital and I'm not your doctor. I gave you comfort so give me something in return. In a place filled with criminals, give and take is a common topic don't you think?" He stood up and walked towards the door before turning back and saying one more thing, "I'll be back tomorrow for my daily entertainment. Don't disappoint."
Regan pulled her legs unto the chair and wrapped her hands around them letting her hair fall around her face, hiding them while Vixen left. Yea that's right, she thought to herself, even after killing, I'm not special. Nothing will change. I should be happy there's one person who actually finds me interesting. Ha..."Killer." What an overrated t.i.tle. Even after killing, and wis.h.i.+ng to be different you just end up being one of the faceless monsters in a pool full of other murderers. In the end society will have ranks for even the lowest of the low. What a funny world.
Knock Knock Knock
Regan raised her head from her thighs and looked up at her door. She knew it was morning already but no rays peeked into her room, the only shred of light drifted from the lights hanging from the ceiling which clothed the room with a peach-ish cloud of light. Her pants were damp from crying half-way through the night, her eyes like water sprinklers temporarily shut off, waiting to be triggered into creating waterworks again.
"I'm coming in," Vixen announced pus.h.i.+ng open the door.
Regan ignored his greeting and tinkered with the red ring on her finger. Despite everything that had happened it still lit up with a crimson glow, standing out on her brown bony fingers. It filled her mind with old happy memories, bright and colorful, a huge contrast in the place she was trapped in now. How much longer would her mind be fouled by the memories called her past?
"I brought you a new set of clothes," Vixen grinned placing the gray outfit on the table, "seeing how I left you yesterday, I figured that your pants might be a little damp."
Regan looked at the bland outfits on the table, "they look the same, there's no reason to change out of what I have now in order to put on something that looks exactly the same."
"Exactly the same?" Vixen raised his eyebrows, he lifted the s.h.i.+rt up and waved it in front of his face, "it has our emblem on it, and the neck cut has been readjusted."
Regan sighed, "like being stuck here isn't enough, now we have to be branded by this too? Is it comical to watch a bunch of puppets wander around with your emblem on them like a leash?"
"Think what you want to think," Vixen shrugged, tossing Regan the s.h.i.+rt, "if I found it comical I would have done it a while ago. Put it on."
Regan let out a baffled chuckle, "now?"
"Do I look like I like to make jokes?" Vixen muttered his eyes piercing into Regan's, "put it on now. You can't seriously be worried about changing in front of me are you? Like I'd do something to you."
