"Raigon? Is that you?" Zoe didn't know if she was hallucinating or what. Her eyes were dimming and his head was running dizzy. The oxygen in her scuba tank was almost running out. But she kept paddling away.

Her attacker was even hurtling toward her. Her knee kick had no effect on this inhuman stranger. He seemed to have no plans to retreat until he has eradicated her.

Zoe was becoming hopeless, being alone under the mighty sea with this savage murderer. 'Mama, Papa,' these were the sacred words that she could only envision on her thinking cap.

She recalled the grisly scene from Blackvine Forest, in her fearful dreams, or in fact her flashback. They were all coming back to her, now that she was within the jaws of death.

Monstrous wolves were also haunting her down. At that particular moment, she was experiencing a similar terror.

She could feel her anxious heart throbbing inside her chest. Her lungs felt like they would burst. Her throat was so parched. Her skin appeared like it was roasting even with the unreasonably frigid glacial water. She could not rest.

Her shapely legs seemed numb and unsteady. And they were painfully sore. She swam even though she doesn't recognize where she was rustling. All she could concentrate on is this manslayer from h.e.l.l after her.

And like that moment, her head spun. Her tired knees were already trembling. Her eyes became blurry. Dreadful darkness was starting to envelop her.

The only difference is that during that instance, a young man suddenly appeared out of nowhere. His bare hands grabbed the beast nearest her and flung it away like a piece of a pebble.

Will that youthful man come to her rescue again this time? Her dear parents died tragically. She got bullied during her highschool days. And she was still earning her way to the top. But by the skin of her teeth, she doesn't want to die yet!

'Can that young man spare her now? Can he see me in these unfathomable boundless waters?' She thought as her energy slowly drifted away.

"Save me," she muttered incoherently between her last breaths.

She was about to let go of her remaining strength when a prominent figure of a colossal man showed up from the direction she was wading into. He was piercing the waters like a sharp scissor cutting through a jagged piece of paper.

He was not wearing a scuba outfit, which made Zoe marvel at how he could breathe in the depth that she was in. He was particularly wearing plain white, long sleeves, and white pants like a lovely angel of the heavenly seas. As he drew near, Zoe narrowed her eager eyes, so she could take a better look at him.

When she was a vulnerable child, she would simply let herself pa.s.s out and allow the world to crumble on her. This time, nevertheless, she was not giving the green light.

She had suffered enough to make her raise the white flag on life just like this. She kept on swimming with the meager stamina that she has. She didn't stop until she grasped the man who, by a whisker, have the appearance of her savior then. And he was about to liberate her again now.

As he drew near, though, the details of his face grew clearer. It was not the familiar of the young man, but a mature one. By a narrow margin, he had the spitting image of Raigon!

'Raigon? Is that really you?' She whispered under her ragged breath. She stretched out her weak arm to brush against him.

She cannot distinguish the distinct emotions that were displayed on his handsome visage now that he was hardly a few inches away from her. It looked like a complex mix of genuine concern, anger, and unspeakable joy.

Or was it merely because of the flowing waters that clouded it? Or maybe due to her fainting consciousness.

She was about to touch him to see if he was undeniably real and not only a figment of her hopeful imagination.

In an instant, he reached for her hand and beckoned her towards him to the other side where he came from. He pointed his deft finger upward as he motioned her to swim there. And then swam towards her vicious attacker.
