"Trust your heart, but if you wish to give in to your impulses of anger, make sure you have the ability to do so. »
Tying her horse to a small tree bordering a isolated temple, Nina thinks she hears her mother's sweet voice coming from a faraway place.
If her mother were to come and give her some advice, Nina believes it is unlikely that she would do so in this place run by the Human priests. Furthermore, if her mother were to teach her a lesson, no doubt she would teach her peace and love, not revenge and hatred.
Seeing her soldiers with a haggard expression still on their horses, their bodies motionless, as if frozen in time, she guesses that it must be some kind of mental attack launched by those traitors who spread their religion through fear.
Thinking back, even if she doesn't know why, since her first trainings with Gandor, it became clear that this kind of basic mental attack has no effect on her.
Aware that these madmen of G.o.d are almost as skilled with a sword as they are with their poisonous mouths, Nina raises her arms to the sky without taking her eyes off the big wooden door.
(Rays of the Black Moon - Corruption of spirits)
Above the temple made of white crumbly material built by the best stonemasons in the Kingdom, a small black sphere appears in the beautiful blue of this mid-afternoon sky.
As the small black sphere grows larger, an irritating crackle emitted by black beams like electric arcs begin to be heard.
From the sphere, which must now have reached a radius of about thirty feet, the dark beams previously concentrated around the celestial body are expelled.
Moving at very high speed towards the ground, a small part of them manage to reach the location of the soldiers of the Dark Brigade.
The victims of the immaterial black rays that have just penetrated their heads, are taken in very slight spasms.
After a few moments, they begin to drool, then when they vomit a mouthful of blood blacker than charcoal, all look around them, not seeming to understand what has just happened.
Nina's s.e.xy lips bow down. Of her thirty soldiers, she has only managed to reach twenty-one. As Gandor said:
"You may have great powers, but if you are not able to reveal their full potential, you will never be aware of your true possibilities."
Maybe she's still immature, but she's inherited her mother's powers and...
...if that day her mother had broken her vow and fought, Nina has no doubt that in a split second, thousands of corpses could have satisfied the hunger of the animals of the little woods.
"Mom, I need you to guide my steps."
It's not her mother who answers her call. From the heavy wooden door at the front of the temple, 20 men in white armor rush towards her...
What are the warrior priests doing here? These elite warriors don't usually come out of the bas.e.m.e.nt of the great temple of the Capital.
Nina takes a few steps back and immediately pulls her sword out of its sheath.
She knows she is powerful, but when faced with these warrior priests who wear a metal outfit that protects them from any magical attack, she cannot maintain her usual confidence.
The first of the men who wears on his armour a symbol representing three intersecting circles is already within reach of her arm.
The sword of this warrior priest, whose speed and strength are no longer human, falls mercilessly towards his skull.
The manifest will to kill her quickly behind this blow will not be enough.
If she just takes a step to her left, in the eyes of the other fighters, Nina seems to have slipped on the ground so quickly that the warrior priest's sword has missed his target.
A third of her men are still under the grip of the mind control spell, the other twenty won't be able to hold out against these monsters for long, as for her, if she can't use her magic, after this simple exchange, she is now aware that she will never be able to defeat them all with her sword.
Taking advantage of the fact that the warrior priest is still in the preparation phase, Nina kicks him in the ribs with a powerful kick.
Under the violence of the blow which is such that the face of the man of G.o.d turns white, he is ejected against an old tree twenty feet away.
Breathless, directing his magic towards the area struck by this steel girl, the warrior priest diagnoses that despite his thick, now dented armor, three of his ribs are broken.
A little groggy and containing the bile that rises to his throat, he soon gets up again.
"b.i.t.c.h of the infidel, my sword guided by the G.o.ds will cut off your head."
Nina can't hear to that vengeful statement. Her eyes wander the vast skies. Captivated by the blue beam that makes her heart beat at a frantic pace and moves extremely fast towards the temple, she lowers unconsciously her sword.
This feeling of closeness. That sense of familiarity. Her heart beating wildly and her moist eyes that hadn't cried for years...
No longer able to concentrate on what surrounds her. Leaving aside the three warrior priests who take advantage of her state of near bliss to throw themselves at her, Nina, who hasn't let go of the blue comet's eyes, doesn't move when she suddenly crashes the ground.
"Mummy?"
Nina's senses are much more developed than those of the Human Beings, but she herself has a hard time following the strange murderous ballet that the dancer in front of her offers her.
The one who moves on the tiptoes of her feet at a speed that Nina had never before observed, turns on herself from right to left and comes to decapitate the three warrior priests who threaten beautiful red-haired girl.
Suddenly changing direction without slowing down, creating a whirlwind that lifts the earth, the beautiful woman, whose size is even superior than Nina's, now goes around the men in white armour.
The grey ground is covered with red. Heads roll in various directions, then when the twentieth body protected by its white armour splits in two, the tornado leaps towards Nina.
(Time stop)
She does it by instinct. Nina's hand can't help but touch the cheek of the woman whose long halberd tip which appears to be drinking the blood of its victims, now rests on the ground.
Her skin is as white as hers. Her deep yellow eyes slightly stretched out on the side, remind her of her mother's.
While her two enormous horns on her head...
