Of course, I desperately wanted to learn both skills.
However, I only had 3 skill points, so I needed to choose between the two. Besides, there was not much time left because I had to meet my sister in five minutes, so I quickly chose one skill without paying heed to the number of golden rings required because they were not important to me whether it be 45 million or 55 million.
What's more, I currently didn't want to use the extremely valuable ‘Maximum Skill Upgrade Charm' that would upgrade one skill beyond its maximum level.
At the Myongjin Shelter's 3rd Study
The Shelter had many places available that my father could use as his office. Among them was a study that was much larger than this 3rd Study, but there was a need for secrecy for discussions among a small number of people, so I made the 3rd Study as my father's secret office.
Actually, this was my sister's suggestion.
Anyway, when I gently opened the door of the 3rdStudy, Dad, DIrector Sok, my brother and sister were already there waiting for me. Chief Secretary, Donyoung Ahn, who a.s.sisted me when I worked as the head of the Myongjin Shelter, and President Kilsan Lee who was the previous head of the Shelter were also present.
Of course, I wasn't surprised because Ahn and Lee were as reliable as Director Sok, and it was very important for them to know my ident.i.ty so they could properly support me.
Anyway, I went to an empty seat in the middle and sat down.
“I hear you have achieved level 1000.”
“Yeah. Just a little while ago.”
“Good job.”
During my previous messages with my sister, I proudly tipped her off that I had just reached level 100, so it seemed that everyone in the study including my father knew about it.
And they started off the discussion by praising my achievement.
We talked about various things for ten minutes.
After that, my father suddenly asked, “So, what are you going to do, Juyoung?”
“I'll do it.”
I couldn't hunt in the Cunning Vampire Garrison for the time being, so I Immediately replied to my father because I was in desperate need of a level 1200 hunting ground.
Besides, j.a.pan's Mitsuya Guild were already my enemies, , but I was not scared at all because even if I reencountered the Oizuki brothers, who possessed the fabulous traits of Item Master and Skill Master, I was much stronger than before and would have access to more skills since I got 2 extra skill points during the level 900 only quest.
I also had the Constellation Hunter's badge, but it was a last resort. I didn't want to use it because I did not want to reveal my ident.i.ty as Sarnga at this stage.
“By the way, I don't like the quest that they mentioned.”
The reason I could get the best results in the numerous quests and events so far was because I was strong.
What if I was weak? I would just be like the many other weak users.
However, the quest that the Mongolian Tugal Guild brought to me was rather troublesome.
Six teams, each composed of 20 members, could challenge the quest at once. But everybody who challenged it would be level 1, with strength 1, agility 1, and intellect 1.
All we had to do was catch monsters roaming in a large rectangular area.
Of course, there were other rules.
[Rule.
1. When the monster that appeared at the starting point does not die and returns to the starting point again, 1 health is deducted from the team's initial 300 health.
2. If all 300 health is deducted, the whole team will fail the challenge.
3. At the end of each round, one of strength, agility, and intellect randomly increases by 1.
4. Strength affects sword attacks, agility affects bow attacks, and intellect affects magic attacks.
5. All attack methods have the same range and the same attack speed.]
First of all, there were three attack methods: sword, bow, and magic. At the end of the round, one of strength, agility, and intellect that directly influences each of the three methods increases by 1 at random.
“The Tugal Guild has undertaken many challenges, and they said that it was the worst to see the skill increase evenly. In other words, you can reach a higher round if you have one extraordinary strong skill among strength, agility, or intellect, for example.”
I roughly understood Director Sok's explanation, so I gave a slight nod.
But that wasn't all the rules there were.
[Rule.
6. At the end of the round, one golden ring is awarded.
7. It is possible to upgrade the following with one golden ring.
-Sharp Blade.
: Inflicts additional damage when you attack with the sword.
-Threatening Arrow.
: Inflicts additional damage when you attack with the bow.
-Lethal Mana Ball.
: Inflicts additional damage when you attack with magic.
-Attack Speed Increase
: Increases attack speed consistently.]
“Man, this is random… yeah, it's random.”
In other words, when each round was over, one of strength, agility, and intellect was meant to increase at random.
So, if I received 3 strength, 1 agility, and 1 intellect from reaching the 5th round, I should use the 5 golden rings I earned to upgrade ‘Sharp Blade'. This was very logical and reasonable.
However, if agility or intellect, not strength, increased from the 6th round, the Sharp Blade that I upgraded would be useless.
And I would feel very sorry if I were forced to upgrade another skill when I already used five golden rings for Sharp Blade.
At that moment, Director Sok again opened his mouth.
“Yeah, you're right. It's random. The Tugal Guild of Mongolia has also conducted numerous experiments and acc.u.mulated a lot of data because of that, but they concluded that they could not find the solution because everytime they challenged it, they got different results since it was so random.”
“Hmm.”
Despite that, I had to do it because securing a level 1200 or higher hunting ground was important not only to me, but also to the Myongjin Guild.
However, even if they tried hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands of times, the Tugal Guild still failed to reach the final round.
Anyway, the meeting continued for nearly 30 minutes, and we made the decision to go ahead with the quest.
No matter how low the probability of success was, we could not afford to miss the rare opportunity.
Of course, we contacted the Mirae Guild because we were allied with them, so it would cause friction with them if they found out later that we had not informed them of this opportunity.
“Good morning. I am Tamir, the person in charge of the Tugal Guild.”
“Nice to meet you. I am Sangman Hong, the leader of the Myongjin Guild.”
Before we moved to the ‘Land Without Light' in Mongolia, our new hunting ground, my father and other Myongjin leaders encountered the Tugal Guild's executives, and our meeting was considerably longer than we thought.
The Tugal Guild, who brought information about the new hunting ground, made the formal request that they wanted to establish a lasting friendly relations.h.i.+p with the Myongjin Guild in the future. They even expressed their desire to join the Myongjin & Mirae Alliance.
