Chapter 624: Ja.n.u.s caught

All the G.o.ds reached the heaven, going straight to the G.o.d of Foresight, who lived in his own palace in the heaven.

The G.o.d of Fortune didn't live alone like most G.o.ds. He didn't keep servants either. Instead, he lived with his students who learned under him. As for the students, they weren't from heaven either.

Instead, he preferred going to different worlds and finding different people who he believed had the talent to learn his art. It was all because he didn't have a kid, and he wanted to find someone to inherit his Foresight so that this art never disappeared.

Even though other G.o.ds didn't like the fact that the G.o.d of Foresight was meeting mortals to heaven, he kept them in his place and didn't let them leave. The students didn't know that they were in Heaven either.

On the promise that he was going to keep the kids in his Palace and wouldn't let them know about the heaven and the G.o.ds, he was allowed to keep them here.

The G.o.ds didn't want to make a big issue out of it since it was happening in the Palace of the G.o.d of Foresight. Moreover, it was all so he could find an heir. They understood his plight.

What actually surprised the other G.o.ds was that the G.o.d of Foresight was already thinking about his death. It was strange since most G.o.ds didn't think about death.

Some G.o.ds believed that he had seen through his foresight about his death and how he was going to die. They believed that was why he was in a hurry to find an heir, so much so that he started picking mortals.

Other G.o.ds believed something different though. They believed that he wanted to create more people to inherit his art so they could teach it to others, spreading it even further. There are even more theories about why he was doing it, but no one knew the truth.

At the moment, eight G.o.ds stepped before the Palace of the G.o.d of Foresight.

The G.o.d of War stepped forward to push the door open, but before his hand could even touch the door, the doors opened.

The doors were opened by a human-like being, but it was clear that he wasn't human. He had red skin and two long horns protruding from his forehead.

He was also one of the students of the G.o.d of Foresight. He also didn't know that the ones he was facing were G.o.ds. He still had no idea where he actually was. All he knew was that seven guests were coming.

The G.o.d of Foresight was only allowed to tell the truth to his heir if and when he selected one.

"Greetings to the Esteemed Sirs. Master already expected that you'd be coming. He's already waiting for you inside. Please follow me," the horned man said.

"I expected something like this. Not a bad show of skills. Take us to him," the G.o.d of War let out, rolling his eyes.

All the G.o.ds were escorted inside the Palace.

They were taken to a chamber that was very small. It was only three meters long and two meters wide.

There was nothing in the room except nine mats placed on the ground. On the first mat, a man was sitting on his knees. The other eight mats are still empty.

The horned man stopped in front of this room.

"That's as far as I can go. You all can go inside. He is waiting for you inside," he told the G.o.ds before he turned around and left.

Pus.h.i.+ng the doors open, the seven G.o.ds stepped inside the room, accompanied by Ja.n.u.s.

Entering, they all noticed the eight mats in front of them.

A dark-haired man was sitting before them. His hair came down to his waist, and so did his long white beard. The man was sitting with his eyes closed.

"Greetings, old friends. So what brought you here?" The G.o.d of Foresight asked the G.o.ds.

"You already knew we were coming. Don't tell me that you didn't know why we were coming?" The G.o.d of War asked, frowning.

"I just want to hear it from you," the G.o.d of Foresight said, smiling. "I saw you were going to come, but I didn't bother seeing our conversation. For me, it's the real conversation."

"I'm sure you know that our sons have been kidnapped. We need your help in finding them and to know who kidnapped them," the G.o.ddess of Destiny asked.

"Who kidnapped them? That's a good question. Unfortunately, even I don't know who kidnapped them since they were never kidnapped," the G.o.d of Foresight said.

"Huh? What do you mean they weren't kidnapped? Where did they all go then?" The G.o.ddess of Water asked, surprised.

"They went to the place where a lot of G.o.ds went before us. One day, all of us shall go to that place too. Unfortunately, the young ones went before us," the G.o.d of Foresight said, sighing.

Sitting in the back, Ja.n.u.s couldn't help but frown. It seemed like this guy really knew everything, despite all the precautions he had taken.

"Don't speak in vague words. Speak clearly. Where did they go? Where are they right now?" The G.o.d of War asked.

"They're in the afterlife. Your sons are already dead. Well, most of them, at least. I see that one was left alive. That guy is really lucky," the G.o.d of Foresight said, sighing.

Hearing his words, all the G.o.ds stood up, shocked.

"Our sons are dead?! That b.a.s.t.a.r.d! I'll kill the Lord of s.p.a.ce! As soon as I find him, he'll be gone, I swear!" The G.o.d of War roared furiously. He was already convinced that it was the work of G.o.d of s.p.a.ce.

" I don't think you'll ever find G.o.d of s.p.a.ce again," the G.o.d of Foresight said, sighing.

"Why won't I? Even if he is hiding in the depths of h.e.l.l, I'll find him!" The G.o.d of War declared.

"You can't. Even I can't see where he is or what happened to him. So I doubt you can find him," the G.o.d of Foresight said, sighing.

"Even you can't see where he is? What are you saying?" G.o.ddess of Water asked, surprised. "Where could he be hiding that you can't find him?"

"I'm not sure, but I think there's one person here who can answer that question," the G.o.d of Foresight said, smiling.

"Who? Who can tell us where he is?!" the G.o.d of War asked.

"The one person who met the G.o.d of s.p.a.ce last," the G.o.d of Foresight replied. "Ja.n.u.s, why don't you answer them?"
