MY KIND OF LOVE 2 Chapter 2

Miray was awakened up by a familiar scent as someone tried to carry her from the chair.

"..mmh ... what time did you get here?" Miray spoke in a sleepy voice as she wrapped her arms around the man who was trying to carry her. 

"So you are awake now? How did you know it was me?"

Miray gave a faint laugh as she gave him a sign to put her down, "...apart from you, which other man would dare to carry me or even come close to me, Zain?"

When Zain walked into the room and saw his sister sleeping on her desk, he felt sad and decided not to wake her up. 'Why did she work so hard?' 

He remembered a moment when they were kids; 

"Zain, don't worry, when I grow up, I will make a lot of money to give you everything you want.." She said that to him after he was crying because of not having one of the latest toys most of his friends had. Back then he thought it was just something his sister said to comfort him. Little did he know, that his sister would keep her words. When she finally, got enough money, she bought him the latest brand new BMW car before she even had one. Even the house she was staying in, was under his and her name. He actually lived a very luxurious life in university all thanks to his sister who really gave him everything. But looking at how she worked so hard made him feel really sad for her. He couldn't wait to finish university and help her with everything.

"Where are your car keys? I will drive you home," he said that while looking at her desk.

"I came here with a taxi," she answered him rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"A taxi? You still haven't given up your old habits?" He twisted his lips.

"Ey,.. if I keep on using my car everyday, how do you expect the taxi man to make money for his family?," she have a sigh while patting his head as if she was talking to a child ".. there are still some things you need to understand."

Zain looked at her in amazement, 'all those books she reads might have made lose her senses,' he shaked his head while taking her bag and high heels in his hands.

"What time is it? ... Aah, I remember mum said we should have dinner tonight, is that why you came?," she jumped on her feet, closing the laptop and reaching out for the door. Zain remembered that they were supposed to have a family dinner but Miray didn't show up making their father furious. He got her stuff and followed her as she made her way out of the office.

Everyone was still surrounding Jeff, hoping he would say something but he kept on ignoring their questions. Miray finally came out of the office, her hair was messy and she had no shoes on. They were all surprised seeing her in such a state. 

" I am sorry, I slept off making everybody wait, you can all go home now ...aaa," she exclaimed and turned around.

"Don't worry, I already got your phone, iPad, shoes and bag... Let's go" Zain looked at her sister while showing her the things in his hands. 

"You really know me better, ... Okay everyone, see you tomorrow," she said that while smiling and grabbed Zain's hand as they walked out of the office . 

'You know me better?'

'Eh, she was even smiling?'

Everyone kept on staring even when they could not see them anymore. Jeff knew he would be asked a lot of questions, so carried his things and left without saying goodbye to them.

'Who could that young man be?'

This should be the best gossip of the week! They need to bribe Jeff with something for him to spill the beans. 

At Yethu's residence...

Old Yethu was sitting on couch watching a soccer game. He was so lost in watching the game he did not notice the new arrivals. 

"Who comes for dinner at this time?" Madam Yethu raised her voice shouting at Miray as soon as she walked in.

Zain could only avoid the situation and went to his room pretending he had to get something. Miray saw what Zain did and gave him that traitor look.

"Mummy, I am really so sorry, I was so tired that I slept at the office.. After coming back from visiting grandma, I didn't have enough time to rest," Miray explained to her mother, while getting closer to where she was and then gave her a tight hug "...next time, I will make it on time... I hope you kept some of those dishes, so I can take...." 

"Aaah, sometimes I feel like I don't have a daughter, I only have sons!" old Yethu interrupted her before she could finish coaxing her mother.

"Aaayi papa, what is that suppose to mean, am I not your daughter?" She stopped hugging her mother and turned to the direction her father was. 

" if I had a daughter, she would visit me often and give me beautiful grand children," 

'Really? Was this the reason he said that ?'

Miray couldn't hold herself and started to laugh, "hahaha papa, do you have to bring that marriage thing again?.." 

Old Yethu looked at her while holding a serious face. "See? Exactly what I mean, you don't even take my advice seriously... you remind me so much of the young me, come here let me embrace my daughter... Hahaha I missed you Mimi. " 

Miray could not believe this man, not long ago he was saying how he doesn't have a daughter and now he is saying that he missed her?This was why she loved her father, he was just like her. 

Madam Yethu looked at the father- daughter, smiling while went to the kitchen to pack up some dishes for Miray. These two always behaved this way. Miray understood his father better than her brothers. There was no doubt she was her father's favorite.

"Have you seen the news?, it seems like you have a compet.i.tor.. " .

"Oooh papa, I thought you never cared about my company at all?.. " She sounded like a child while talking to her father.

"Who says that I cared?, I was just asking since I had nothing much to say.." 

Miray bl.u.s.ted into laughter. She knew how much her father paid a lot of attention to everything she did. He would always seem like he never cared but was always there to help her in time of need.

"Why are you laughing?... Eh Mimi, you should take care with this one, he might be the toughest compet.i.tor you have ever met.." old Yethu looked at her with troubled face, making Miray to stop laughing.

"Alright papa, you should know how tough your daughter is. I will not allow anyone to bully me easily... By the way, who is this?" She took the remote and switched to another television channel.

"Eh Mimi, didn't you see that I was watching something? Wait till the game is over or go and watch what you want at your house!.." he grabbed the remote from her hands and switched the channel back. 

Miray was puzzled. She  remembered how back then  she had to wait for the soccer game to finish, just so she could watch her favorite tv drama. 'Aaayi this old man hasn't changed a bit.'

"Sorry papa, now tell me who this rival of mine is?.." 

"His name is Skylar Wandeers. .."
