However, when she recalled Jiang Xuecheng’s words, there was a sweetness in Su Wan’s heart.

Yes, she and Jiang Xuecheng were husband and wife united as one, so why should they be calculative?

On the other hand, Tang Yifeng, who had been declined, did not look too good. His handsome brows were slightly raised and he tapped Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulders.

“You’re the CEO of Di Chen Group but you’re so petty after getting married. You’re even showing your affection in front of me. Are you trying to attack a bachelor like me?”

Hearing Tang Yifeng’s bitter tone, Su Wan sneered and started defending her husband.

“Master Tang, my husband and I didn’t mean that…moreover, if you really want to find a girlfriend, it should be easy for you, shouldn’t it?”

Tang Yifeng rolled his eyes and replied, “You wouldn’t even allow me to say something about your husband and you’re saying you didn’t attack me, a bachelor…Alright, please be seated. It’s strange standing here.”

Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng gazed at one another and then held hands before they sat opposite Tang Yifeng and Lu Xiao.

Jiang Xuecheng took a piece of red bean pastry and pa.s.sed it to Su Wan. Su Wan took it from him and ate it. Then, she peeled an orange for Jiang Xuecheng.

Both of them did not talk but everyone could see their affection for one another.

Tang Yifeng saw the little couple closely bound together and suddenly envied them. He turned sideways to look at Lu Xiao and couldn’t help sighing.

“Look at them, acting as if no one is here. I can’t stand the sight of this.”

When Su Wan heard Tang Yifeng’s tease, she choked on the snack she was about to swallow. She coughed for a good while and felt some pain in her throat.

Jiang Xuecheng saw her suffering and poured her a gla.s.s of water. “Did you choke on the food? Are you alright?”

“Cough, cough.”

Su Wan raised her brows and her face was all red. She took the gla.s.s from Jiang Xuecheng and drank two mouthfuls of water but ended up coughing more.

One could see heartache from Jiang Xuecheng’s deep eyes. He patted Su Wan’s back gently and said, “Drink slowly, no one is fighting with you over the water.”

Feeling embarra.s.sed, Su Wan touched her neck gently and nodded. She cleared her throat and finally felt much better.

Jiang Xuecheng only relaxed when he saw Su Wan feeling better.

He took the tissue box from the table, took out a piece of tissue paper, and pa.s.sed it to Su Wan. Su Wan continued drinking water and wiped the water stain from the corners of her lips.

Lu Xiao and Tang Yifeng watched every gesture of theirs and thought it was beyond comprehension. They had known Jiang Xuecheng for a long time but neither had seen Jiang Xuecheng caring for someone like this before.

Tang Yifeng glared at Lu Xiao. “Who says I don’t understand their love? I just haven’t met my true love.”

Hearing how Tang Yifeng touched lightly on the subject, Lu Xiao did not believe him. She narrowed her eyes and teased him.

“If switching targets every week is what you mean by searching for true love, your true love will be far away, outside this earth.”

Tang Yifeng replied after being shot by Lu Xiao, “Maybe! Fate is such a wonderful thing. If I can find my true love, I’ll submit to my fate even if she is out of the earth.”

Su Wan saw how Tang Yifeng and Lu Xiao interacted with one another and when she recalled their intimate postures just now, she couldn’t help guessing their relations.h.i.+p.

Both of them felt like a couple in love but Lu Xiao had denied she was Tang Yifeng’s girlfriend.

However, Su Wan found it hard to believe that Lu Xiao and Tang Yifeng were only friends, as she felt there was a special chemistry between them.

Su Wan probed, “Sis Lu, do you have a boyfriend?”

Lu Xiao darted a glance at Tang Yifeng and answered slowly, “No, so you and the young master should please take it easy. Now, Master Tang is no longer the only single who is being abused.”

Su Wan ignorantly nodded her head but was still not clear of the relations.h.i.+p between Lu Xiao and Tang Yifeng.

Just then, the sound of knocking filled the air and a waiter pushed a trolley with a cake on it into the room. “Mr. Tang, the Black Swan birthday cake you ordered is here.”

The waiter took the hazelnut chocolate cake and carefully placed it on the table. Then, he took out a knife and cut each person a piece of cake before he quietly left the room.

Lu Xiao took a slice of hazelnut chocolate cake and smiled happily. “Ah, I love cakes from Black Swan!”

Tang Yifeng rolled his eyes. “Eating is all you know how to do. Just be careful about putting on weight. Look how calm Su Wan is about the cake.”

The innocent Su Wan wiped off her sweat. Actually, she was someone who loved to eat too and was a complete meat eater. Luckily, Jiang Xuecheng didn’t mind if she put on weight.

Lu Xiao didn’t mind what he said. She ate the hazelnut chocolate cake and cut another slice for herself. She then sneered, “Me putting on weight has nothing to do with you!”

Hearing their bickering, Su Wan shook her head. Because of Tang Yifeng’s comment just now, she was too shy to gobble hurriedly. Hence, she took small bites of the cake.

The hazelnut chocolate cake was not big and perhaps because Lu Xiao liked it so much, only half a cake was left in no time.

Jiang Xuecheng, who was sitting beside Su Wan, took the plastic knife which Lu Xiao had placed by the side and cut another slice of cake for Su Wan.

“Here.”

Su Wan received the cake smilingly. She knew Jiang Xuecheng was worried she was hungry. However, she did not really enjoy eating such cake because she felt it was too sweet.

After Su Wan ate that piece, the hazelnut chocolate cake had almost been divided up. Just when she wanted to excuse herself to go to the washroom, Jiang Xuecheng took a piece of tissue paper for her.

Su Wan didn’t understand and so looked at him. Jiang Xuecheng looked at her calmly.

“There’s cream beside your lips.”

Su Wan instantly felt awkward. She took the tissue paper and wiped her face carefully. Then, she excused herself and went to the washroom.

After Su Wan left, Tang Yifeng gave Jiang Xuecheng a meaningful look. “I have not realized that an ice cube like you could have the potential of a lady-killer.”

Jiang Xuecheng smiled when he heard what he said. “That’s because you have poor eyesight.”
