Chapter 263 - Game?
If she really was from the Murong family then there could only be one place where she would be taken to. Lu Xingyan could only hope that she was right. If not, if she was going to be sold off then it was going to be a big problem. The moment she would leave the s.h.i.+p and be sold off to someone, going back to the mainland would be extremely hard.
"Do you like to play games, Little Lu?" Teacher Yu asked with a sinister smile.
"Where are you taking us?" Lu Xingyan tried her best to sound as brave as possible. Her mind was already thinking of multiple ways on how to escape. The only problem was how to untie the rope around her wrist.
"To place where you can play with us." Teacher Yan replied. "Have you heard of a place called the Azure Republic?"
So she was right! They really were taking them to the Azure republic! The only question Lu Xingyan had in mind was... Why would they take the hostages there? To a place where they can easily be captured?
"You should know. Aren't you Lu Xian Yu's niece?" She continued.
Huh... So that's why. Could they be after her uncle too? But she did say that they were actually after Han Yehan and his brother.
"You won't get away with this. I am a member of the Lu family." Lu Xingyan warned.
"Yes! That's what makes it more fun!" Teacher Yan grinned. "Let's see how long will it take for them to find you. Days? Weeks? Months? Or maybe years? That's if... You will survive the game."
"Game?"
"You'll know it once we get there." The woman snickered. She turned and left the room after, leaving the hostages alone.
When Lu Xingyan made sure that they were alone, she scanned the room with her eyes just to make sure that there were no surveillance cameras around.
"Whatever you're planning, there's no use. Even if you can untie yourself, you will not be able to leave this room." A woman said in English.
Lu Xingyan turned to see the woman who spoke out. When she saw her face, her eyes went wide in disbelief. For some reason, the moment she saw the woman, the blurry image of the people in her dreams cleared up. She was the same woman in her dream!
The foreign woman looked at Lu Xingyan in pity, after all, she was the youngest in the group of people in the room. The people in the room were from mixed races. She sighed, "What am I even saying? It's not like you can understand me."
"I do," replied Lu Xingyan in English. "I understand you."
"Everyone in the room can speak that common language." Another person said. "Those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds captured people who can converse."
Lu Xingyan turned and saw a foreign man resting his back against the wall.
Wasn't he... the same man who died in her dream?
"My name is Elizabeth. You can call me Eli. That man is Furihata Sano." The western foreign, Elizabeth introduced.
"M-my..." Lu Xingyan stuttered and paused. She inhaled deeply and tried her best to remain calm. "My name is Lu Xingyan..."
"I would normally say 'it's nice to meet you' but our situation is not so nice at all," sighed Eli. "As I was saying, the lackeys here are smart. They would check our ropes every two hours."
"Yeah, ever since that woman tried to escape." Sano scoffed. "She was an idiot so now our opportunity to escape is gone."
"Woman?"
Eli lowered her eyes in pity, "Yes. You see, Fiona managed to untie her ropes and she waited for an opportunity to leave the room. She even helped us by releasing the ropes from our wrists. We had a plan on how to escape but she was impatient and got caught. She was... killed on the spot. We couldn't do anything against men who were armed so now, we're back to being tied."
"Oh..." If that was the case then escaping the place was impossible. Although what was more alarming for Lu Xingyan was that her dream was about to come true. That was not the only problem...
In her dream, Eli and Sano looked a bit older. Not just that. They even looked experienced with the game. It only meant that they were playing it for years, right? She could also remember how she looked mature in the dream. Her dream felt so real... The only thing she was able to change was that... she was captured earlier. In her dream, she remembered being captured in a foreign country, a day before her concert.
The dreams she had were not in detail, it was only scenes by scenes. Although connecting the dreams were not hard. Those nightmares even looked more like a premonition for her future that was why Lu Xingyan tried to do something about it and yet she ended up being captured earlier than expected. What should she do now? She only made things worse for herself!
Lu Xingyan tried her best not to cry. There was no time for that. All she could do is think and plan their escape. The good thing about her dreams was that it gave her information about the people that she was about to meet. Eli has medical skills while Sano knew his ways through machines. He was the person who thought her how to decipher the machines.
For some reason, scenes that were not even included in her dreams filled her mind. It was weird and strange but it was not the time to wonder about how it was possible. She needed to solve one problem at a time. Right now, all she has to think about was how to survive the upcoming storm. She needed to strengthen her mind. She was not allowed to panic or cry but despite that, her body trembled at the thought of being taken to a dangerous place. Even if she told herself to stay strong, she would be lying to herself if she said that she wasn't afraid.
Lu Xingyan buried her face in her knees as she bit her lower lip. "Someone... Please save me..." She murmured so softly that no one was able to hear her call for help.
