Chapter 215: Lin Hui The Bootlicker – 1
Chen Jun scratched his head when he heard what Fu Zhi had said.
He did not know how to put his thoughts into words, but this was not something he would expect from someone as young as Fu Zhi. After all, given her prowess in the medical field, she had every right to be arrogant, and he was certain that other people would have behaved in such a manner. However, Fu Zhi was different. Despite the fact that she was a professional herself, she remained down to earth and humble. She did not act all high and mighty, and all she had done was just ask him to pay her.
‘She’s really such a good person!’
Chen Jun had become Fu Zhi’s fanboy, so he would agree to anything she said. “Of course! Just tell me how much I need to pay. I’d pay you even if I had to sell my own house!”
‘Well, that’s not necessary...’ Fu Zhi thought.
In the end, Fu Zhi charged Chen Jun 8 million yuan for saving his elder brother’s life. Then, she said, “Remember to take the medicine according to the schedule and don’t forget the wheat soup. If he cherishes his life, you can add my WeChat number and sign your elder brother up for one of my cla.s.ses. The cost for the entire course is 90,000 yuan. After you sign him up, he could consult me online wherever he came across a problem or danger during his mission, and I’d do my best to help him save his skin.”
Chen Jun was left speechless.

Meanwhile, Lin Hui was waiting in the lounge. He was sipping his tea as he restlessly looked at his watch from time to time.
It had been two hours, yet he heard nothing from the other side.
‘Could the little girl have failed to save the patient? Is he already dead? No, there’s no way I’d let that happen! I will not let the patient die before my eyes!’
With that thought in mind, Lin Hui shot up from his chair. Just as he opened the door, he b.u.mped into Dr. Liu, who had come to bring him a message.
Dr. Liu’s cheeks were flushed, as he had run all the way here. He was huffing and puffing, and he seemed so excited that he could barely speak.
Lin Hui’s heart skipped a beat, and he asked with a grave tone, “What happened? Don’t tell me the patient is already...”
‘F*ck! I knew it! I shouldn’t have left the patient in the hands of that little girl!’
With that thought in mind, he grabbed his medicine chest even tighter and prepared to return to the patient’s room. “See? I already told you guys that she had no idea what the h.e.l.l she was doing! Inform Young Master Li that I will do my best to save the patient. As for Fu Zhi, let’s give her a chance to redeem herself. After all, she’s still young, and I...”
“Hold, hold on, Dr. Lin!” Dr. Liu finally calmed down. He went forward to stop Lin Hui in his tracks and added, “The patient has already awakened, and his condition has improved!”
“I know he’s awakened. That’s why I’m going to...” Lin Hui suddenly paused, as he felt that something was not right. He turned his head around to look at Dr. Liu and asked, his voice thick with disbelief, “What did you say? Are you saying that she cured him?!”
“Yes! It took her roughly two hours, though. We gave the patient a full physical checkup, and all his reports came back clean! It’s just like a dream...”
All color drained from Lin Hui’s face, and his brain went blank. He had been wrong. When the realization hit him, his body began to shake as a chill rushed up to his spine.
He knew both Young Master Li and Young Master Jiang would not want to see him right now. He knew he had become everyone’s laughing stock. He knew he was going to lose his t.i.tle as the most talented doctor, but those were not the things he cared about the most.
He had nearly killed a patient. He had made the wrong diagnosis, and had it not been for Fu Zhi, the patient would have been dead already. As a doctor, he found this unacceptable.
“What a useless doctor I am. Even a little girl, whose name is unknown in the medical field, is better than me,” Lin Hui muttered absent-mindedly as he plopped back on the couch.
“Dr. Lin, different people have different skills. Maybe Ms. Fu is more familiar with gu poison...”
Dr. Liu wiped the sweat off his forehead as he tried to comfort Lin Hui. However, his effort did not have much of an effect. After all, once a doctor realized they had given the wrong diagnosis, their psychological state would collapse instantly—especially if they were a doctor in the emergency room.
Lin Hui covered his face with his hands. Just as he was about to find a hole and bury himself in it, his phone rang.
It was his master calling. When he answered the call, Sun Sanzhen’s voice wafted over into his ear. “How is Chen Ming? If you have taken care of everything over there, then hurry up and come back here. We’re swamped.”
However, Lin Hui could not hear what his master was talking about right now. In a dejected voice, he said, “I misdiagnosed the patient, Master. Young Master Li will not let me go so easily...”
