Chapter 2393: Mission 73

Giles wore a look of complete confidence and unwavering certainty.
Behind the Tribe Chief, he exuded an unmistakable sense of pride.
Their arrival didn’t take long.
Gary and a few of his fellow clan members, armed with bows and arrows, regarded the Thunder Fire Clan representatives warily, ready to defend themselves if any provocation occurred.
In reality, Gary harbored a desire for action. He wished to confront these individuals and would rather become enemies with the Thunder Fire Clan than allow them to continue interfering with the Tribe Chief and motivating her to engage in reckless actions.
If they were to become adversaries with the Thunder Fire Clan, they might as well employ their weapons to eliminate the threat entirely, leaving nothing to fret over.
However, the Thunder Fire Clan members appeared fully confident in their Tribe Chief. They refrained from resorting to violence and solely intended to communicate their intentions.
They were aware that once the Tribe Chief spoke, she might take irrational actions.
This was the very situation Gary despised and dreaded the most.
“Are you from the Thunder Fire Tribe?” Gu Chaoyan inquired, her tone cool and unyielding.
Gary closed his eyes in despair.
The Tribe Chief was present, and no one knew if they would repeat the same mistakes and endure a similar existence.
The members of the Five Elements Clan bore grim expressions, all sharing the same concerns as Giles.
Giles nodded to rea.s.sure them and whispered, “Don’t worry.”
He then positioned himself behind the Tribe Chief, ready to protect her.
A smug smile spread across the faces of several Thunder Fire Tribe members upon seeing the Five Elements Tribe’s leader.
These individuals had, by chance, witnessed the sudden transformation of the Five Elements Clan just the day before. They had rushed back to report to their own Tribe Chief with hopes of securing the Five Elements Clan’s resources.
To them, these resources were valuable, and if acquired by the Thunder Fire Clan, they would be akin to the icing on the cake.
The Tribe Chief had organized their visit with this in mind. Their primary objective was securing these resources.
Understanding the Five Elements Tribe Chief’s character, they were confident that if the idea came from her, she would readily present the resources as if they were treasures, lest she be considered too slow.
In the eyes of these Thunder Fire Tribe members, these resources were already as good as theirs.
“Yes, we are from the Thunder Fire Tribe, Tribe Chief of the Five Elements Clan. Our Tribe Chief requested us to come. He wishes to discuss a matter with you,” one of the Thunder Fire Tribe members remarked nonchalantly, displaying a lack of respect for the Tribe Chief of the Five Elements Clan.
After all, they were well-acquainted with the situation.
“If you have something to discuss with me, you’ll need to come in person to demonstrate your sincerity. Can we proceed with the discussion?” Gu Chaoyan replied icily, showing no interest in the Thunder Fire Tribe members. Simultaneously, she emphasized her authority as the Tribe Chief.
Several Thunder Fire Tribe members were about to express their intentions, but upon hearing her response, they swallowed their words and continued, “Our Tribe Chief has been occupied lately, so he arranged for us to come in his place. In the past, we visited many times ourselves. Why is the Tribe Chief…?”
“The Five Elements Clan follows its own set of rules. While we may be vulnerable, we remain a clan,” Gu Chaoyan stated, unwilling to waste any more time on the matter. She turned and walked away, disregarding the Thunder Fire Clan representatives.
