Gu Chaoyan shook her head.

Gu Zhenkang might look flattering, but she did not believe that Gu Zhenkang was doing this because he treated her as the real daughter. He was doing this only because of Zhou Huaijin.

“I am staying at the Qiong Pavilion.” Gu Chaoyan answered, looking cold.

Gu Zhenkang was displeased inwardly... How dare this girl show arrogance in front of him, when he was doing everything for her sake? However, he did not dare to utter a word at all.

“I will ask Chen Fu to keep you company there.” He said coldly.

Gu Chaoyan nodded. Then they started to head towards the Qiong Pavilion.

Gu Zhenkang and Mrs. Gu remained, with Gu Zhenkang looking displeased.

“See, you are sucking up for nothing!” Mrs. Gu snapped ironically.

“What are you talking about? I am doing all of this for you guys, for the whole Gu Mansion!” Gu Zhenkang snapped.

Mrs. Gu snorted and left.

Gu Zhenkang pursed his lips and left too.

Gu Chaoyan did not hear their conversation. As she came back to the Qiong Pavilion, she saw the Pavilion had been cleaned up by someone before. With Qing gone, it must have been servants from the Gu Mansion that had done the cleaning.

Chen Fu said with a lowered head as he accompanied her to the Qiong Pavilion. “Elder Miss, you can walk in now, I will be off.”

“Hang on.” Gu Chaoyan took out a medicine bottle. “This is medical cream and it works well, you can use it if you want to.” Then she placed the bottle into Chen Fu’s hands.

Chen Fu was surprised. Obviously, he had not expected that Gu Chaoyan would offer him the medical cream.

His hands were s.h.i.+vering as he was holding the medical bottle. He looked at the medical bottle and then at Gu Chaoyan.

Tears gushed out of his eyes, and he looked very saddened. He mumbled. “I am sorry, Elder Miss, I am so, sorry.”

“Sorry?” Gu Chaoyan looked at Chen Fu with a searching look.

Chen Fu was the housekeeper, but he had never done anything evil. What was he sorry for?
