Mrs. Lin turned pale. What Chaoyan said differed from the other doctors, but their conclusion was the same – only a couple of years left to live.

Lin Jiashu was drinking the tea as his face turned more pale. He bellowed. “You doctors, just stay at home if you can’t cure me. Don’t be out here humiliating yourselves!”

He hated it when his mother got full of hope before getting disappointed again as she saw off the doctors.

If that had to be the case, he could just give up and live the way he should be.

Gu Chaoyan threw a glance at Lin Jiashu.

This boy pretended to be careless about his life, but as a matter of fact, he did hope to live. That made everything easier.

“But now you have me, and I can guarantee that you live up to a very old age.” Gu Chaoyan said with a smile.

Mrs. Lin had been shedding the tears earlier. However, upon hearing these words, she did not wipe her tears, but tugged at Gu Chaoyan’s clothes, asking, “You can cure him?”

Gu Chaoyan nodded.

Lin Jiashu snorted, refusing to believe what she said.

“I can cure him, but I need some time. It will take at least ten days, or at most one month. I will have to be here very often during this time.” Gu Chaoyan said.

Hearing that she could cure her son, she did not care about her being around here often at all.

“It is totally okay! Let me fix the arrangement.” Mrs. Lin said and was about to hurry off, when she stressed to Lin Jiashu. “Jiashu, Chaoyan cured Tong of the w.a.n.g Family. If she says that she can cure you, she is definitely confident about this. You must work with her!”

Lin Jiashu nodded, but he still had a flat expression on his face.

After knowing about his physical condition, Gu Chaoyan did not linger in Chuyun Pavilion any more.

As Mrs. Lin was arranging the accommodation she went to prepare the medical materials. She claimed that she could cure the disease, but she needed numerous materials for this serious disease.

The Old Master had been helping with a long face, refusing to exchange a word with Gu Chaoyan.

Gu Chaoyan understood that situation clearly. He still did not like her that much.

She wrote what she needed and gave the list to the housekeeper, who went out to get those things.

Mrs. Lin was done with the accommodation arrangement too.

He did not believe her words at all, but he did not want his mother to get disappointed again after the hope inside her arose. So he could not help but approach Jingxin Hut.

He expected to persuade that ugly girl from the Gu Family to tell his mother the truth.

As he had just reached Jingxin Hut, he heard some small whispers.

“Do you think that hideous woman could cure Young Master?”

“I think so. She could cure the Young Master from the w.a.n.g Family, so she should be able to cure our Young Master. I heard that she raised some conditions too. When the Young Master is cured, she is going to get her wishes realized. Maybe she is going to be our mistress! She is so ugly and has been divorced before, it is worth all the while to get a good husband with her medical skills,” the maid sneered.

The other maid looked slightly annoyed. The same went for Lin Jiashu.

He was so annoyed that he clenched his fists.
