Chapter 171: The Wonderful Band-Aid

There was a brief silence in the room.
The three chieftains from different martial clans—Wei Zhishu, Long Qi, Murong Buyi shared a glance, with Wei Zhishu smiling, “You’re such a joker, Mister Jiang.”
In fact, the trio did not immediately recognize the Strengthened Bezoar Detox Pills since it was slightly larger than normal Bezoar Detox Pills, but the Amoxicillin capsules and the band-aid was too obvious...
‘This is self-made medicine?
‘Are you joking?’
Jiang He, however, was rather displeased. “Did you think I was joking, gentleman?”
They traded looks, and Long Qi could not help asking, “Weren’t you?”
He appeared to be the youngest amongst the tree, was wearing a black training uniform and white-soled canvas shoes. Despite his slight plumpness, he appeared rather imposing even as he smiled, “Mister Jiang, we came in good faith.”
“Do you mean that I don’t?”
How could Jiang He feel at ease when the things he planted with so much difficulty was being belittled? Turning towards Long Qi, he said, “Chief Long. Please lend me a hand.”
Long Qi was rather doubtful, but he extended his hand regardless.
With a turn of his hand, Jiang He brought out his Dragon-Slaying Saber and chopped it.
What the h.e.l.l!
None of the three chieftains expected that at all, with Long Qi bursting with True Qi in his great shock, and promptly drew back his hand, but he was just a fraction too slow—all he felt was agony on his hand as one of his fingers dropped to the floor.
“Jiang He!”
Long Qi exploded, barking, “What are you playing at!?”
Likewise, both Murong Buyi and Wei Zhishu unleashed their aura, glaring ferociously.
Long Mountain Lin quickly stood up and said, “Gentleman, please calm down...”
Then, he was unable to continue.
After all, it was not just the three chieftains who did not expect this scene—even Long Mountain Lin could not wrap his head around this.
They were having a pleasant business discussion, so why was a blade drawn out of the blue?
“...”
In fact, Jiang He was dumbstruck as well.
Blanking out for a second, he put away his Dragon-Slaying Saber and smiled awkwardly. “Sorry, Chief Long, I’m really sorry... I actually only wanted to cut a small gash over your hand and test my medicine, but you suddenly pulled away...”
Long Qi clutched at the stump where his finger was which was gus.h.i.+ng blood like a fountain, and circulated his True Qi to block the artery. He scowled harder than a person who was forced-fed feces, unable to say anything in return.
So did that mean he only had himself to blame?
I was merely pulling back my hand, and that was still a mistake?
You could have just told me you want a cut. I brought my own dagger...
Drawing out a giant blade out of nowhere like that. I even thought you wanted to kill me!
Nonetheless, the three chieftains did withdraw their aura.
At the same time, Jiang He had already picked up the dismembered finger, saying, “Still, chopping it off is better. I could present a more direct performance of my medicine’s effect... hmmm, patience, Chief Long. There’s too much blood on the finger, so I’ll wash it first.”
He picked up the finger and went inside the washroom.
Soon, there were gus.h.i.+ng sounds of water.
Was.h.i.+ng it with normal tap water?
Was he not afraid that it would be washed down the sink?
Shaking with rage, Long Qi was about to storm in when Jiang He came out, staring at his hand as he said, “Wash your hand, Chief Long. How are you supposed to st.i.tch the finger back in place?”
Even so, as the saying goes: ‘one’s fingers are connected to the heart’—having one cut off was extremely agonizing already.
Nonetheless, Long Qi withstood the pain and coldly seethed, “I’ll see what you can come up with, Jiang He!”
He entered the washroom furiously, and more gus.h.i.+ng water could be heard soon enough.
Then, after Long Qi had cleaned his hand, Jiang He held it by the wrist, picked up the dismembered finger and gestured with it, saying, “Actually, there’s a lot of contaminants and bacteria in tap water, and it should not be used to wash wounds. Hospitals usually do their was.h.i.+ng with hydrogen peroxide and alcohol to disinfect. So...”
Taking out an Amoxicillin capsule and splitting it, Jiang He poured the contents on Long Qi’s finger. “We’ll need this Amoxicillin Capsule for disinfection.”
“I made this Amoxicillin Capsule myself too, and it’s a strengthened version with strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, effectively curing various inflammation.’
After sprinkling the Amoxicillin Capsule, Jiang He then opened the wrapper over a band-aid.
At three times the size of a normal band-aid, the Strengthened Yunnan Baiyao Band-Aid resembled a certain item which women often use, though there was some difference in their specific appearance.
Long Qi’s mouth twitched as he watched Jiang He cheerfully pasted the band-aid over his severed finger, unable to resist a jibe, “Isn’t this a band-aid, Mister Jiang?”
“Is this thing even useful here?
“Please don’t waste my time if it doesn’t. I have medicine back home, and with surgery it could connect my finger without side-effects.”
To tell the truth, Long Qi was rather shocked.
A band-aid connecting a dismembered finger?
Why did this feel ridiculous?
And though it was just a finger, his ability would definitely be affected if some residual effects remained, not to mention that it would affect him severely since the Long clan’s specialty was palm techniques.
On the other hand, after wrapping the band-aid, Jiang He squeezed the dismembered finger a little, adjusting the angle so that it wouldn’t be skewed.
Even as he adjusted, he smiled, “To tell the truth, this is the first time I used this. I won’t know what the effect would be like—but don’t worry, Chief Long, I’ll take responsibility.”
Blue with shock, Long Qi reached out and was about to tear off the band-aid, but paused when his fingers reached it.
He held his hand before his eyes, studying it carefully, a look of disbelief flas.h.i.+ng in his eyes.
Being a rank-eight martial artist, his perception over his body was quite sensitive.
And in this very instant, Long Qi could clearly feel the flesh and bone where the stump was were wiggling and growing.
There was also a numbing itch where the finger was cut.
That sensation faded after around three minutes, and Long Qi attempted to move the finger... which moved freely.
Not quite relieved, he used it to pick its nose and could not help exclaiming then, “It worked?”
Promptly tearing off the band-aid, Long Qi studied the finger which was now as good as new, his eyes twinkling as he asked, “Does your band-aid have any other effect, Mister Jiang?”
Jiang He considered it seriously before answering, “it could fix any parts that it could be pasted on, curing blade wounds, broken bones, and the like.”
It was not just Long Qi—both Murong Buyi and Wei Zhishu were getting excited too.
The band-aid... was divine!
Re-attaching fingers was actually no big deal. Even modern medicine could achieve that as long as surgery was performed in time, and such level could be reached if medicine was used as well.
But that takes a procedure.
Even if a martial artist’s body was strong and regenerates quickly, it would take at least one month for the finger to recover up to peak condition.
So how on earth did the band-aid take mere minutes to get that done?
If wounded in a fight, one could slap on the band-aid and keep fighting as long as it was not a lethal wound, and they would recover soon enough. Of course, the condition was that your opponent allowed you the time to stick one on.
Meanwhile, Jiang He took a seat and grinned. “I don’t have a lot, but I can spare some and sell them to you gentlemen.”
Then, picking up a Bezoar Detox Pill, he added, “By the way, this pill cures all poisons... Chief Long, does your clan have strong poison to test this with?”
“It’s fine, it’s fine.”
Long Qi quickly waved him off, saying, “Elder Lin has told me about it. It must certainly be extraordinary since it could cure the rank-nine Six-Eyed Desert Spider’s poison!”
Still, there was a weirded-out look on Long Qi’s face as he spoke.
The Bezoar Detox Pill...
Giving a pill of such wonder a normal name was really ill-befitting for its effect.
In fact, Long Qi had already made up his mind. When he got his hands on the Bezoar Detox Pills, he would rename it the ‘Antidote Pellet of Wonders’, repackage it and sell it as the pièce de resistance at the auction.
The trio traded glances then.
Murong Buyi smiled then. “Mister Jiang, I wonder how would you trade for this medicine?”
“By item exchange, of course.”
Jiang He replied. “Weren’t your clans planning for an auction? You must have some good stuff, so prepared an inventory for me to read through.”
“Alright!”
Murong Buyi nodded, whipped out his phone and made a call.
Soon, a middle-aged man brought a catalogue.
“These are part of the collection we will auction, Mister Jiang. There’s a total of seventy-eight items in this catalogue, including cultivation manuals, floral spirits, rare relics, combat suits.”
Jiang He took the catalogue and studied it carefully.
There was a total of twelve cultivation manuals, including swordplays, blade techniques, boxing styles, and inner cultivation.
Even so, Jiang He shook his head in disappointment.
Those were too weak.
Most were inferior martial art techniques, and anything he made up himself would be better.
Then, there were the floral spirits.
In fact, a majority of the seventy-eight treasures were floral spirits. There were some that strengthened physique, while others improved cultivation and spirit... and what piqued Jiang He’s interested was that a rank-nine Origin Fluid was available.
He then read the caption to find that it was extracted from a rank-nine locust tree.
“How much of this Origin Fluid do you have?”
Jiang He turned towards Murong Buyi, who turned to Wei Zhishu in turn, since that item was provided by the Wei clan.
Rising to his feet, Wei Zhishu said, “Mister Jiang, this Origin Fluid strengthens spirit, and was obtained two years ago after elites of my clan chopped down an old locust tree. We have around two thousand drops in store, and we would be selling five hundred drops at this auction.”
Jiang He frowned at that.
Measured by drops?
The rank-nine Origin Fluid that improved spirit was higher in value than items that improve cultivation. For example, his Origin Fluid extracted from a willow tree was worth five hundred thousand dollars per drop, which makes this locust tree’s around a million.
Still, it was very petty to measure the Origin Fluid in drops.
Or what, was he supposed to find a dripper that delivers Origin Fluids by drops when he wanted some Origin Fluid to quench his thirst?
“Chief Wei, how does the Origin Fluid taste? Is it delicious? I want everything if it is!”
“...”
Wei Zhishu did a double take.
‘Delicious?
‘Taste?
‘You want everything if it’s delicious... does that mean you don’t want it if it wasn’t?’
He was certainly unaware of Jiang He’s lifestyle—why buy it if it wasn’t tasty?
