Chapter 265: A Construction Team of Awakened Folks
w.a.n.g Siyu had put on some makeup and light-colored lipstick, although she rarely did so.
She was also wearing a round-neck T-s.h.i.+rt with a black high-waisted skirt, a simple pairing that perfectly accentuated her figure.
Beside her, Li Fei teased, “Old Jiang, she insisted on following when she heard that I was delivering you rice seeds, even going out of her way to put on makeup.”
Even as he spoke, he shot Jiang He various gestures and signs.
Blus.h.i.+ng, w.a.n.g Siyu scolded, “Why don’t you offload the rice, Two Dog Li?”
Smiling mockingly, Li Fei placed one pack of rice seed at the yard before heading off to carry another bag before saying, “Old Jiang, w.a.n.g Siyu, you two go ahead and chat. I’m going home for a look.”
Clearly, he was giving them some personal s.p.a.ce.
Just as he was about to step out of the front gates, he ran into the Seven Bottle Gourd Brothers, Dumbo and Turmbo, who were playing chase, and could not help exclaiming in surprise, “Woah, where did these septuplets come from?”
Since the Seven Bottle Gourd Brothers looked identical to each other, they would naturally be seen as septuplets. However, they completely ignored Li Fei and scampered away right in front of him.
Dumbo, on the other hand, paused and tilted its head to study Li Fei.
Li Fei smiled. “Well, if it isn’t Dumbo!”
Even as he spoke, he walked up and tried to pat its head.
Dumbo suddenly stood on its rear legs and slapped off Li Fei’s hand with its paw, barking, “Moron, did Daddy allow you to pat my head?’
Li Fei was did a double take, but then started to laugh out loud.
It was no secret to the Lingzhou City Martial Arts Department (MAD) that Jiang He’s dog could speak human. Li Fei had naturally heard about it as well, and so simply climbed in his BMW and drove off, disappearing from the end of the alley.
Three alleys separate Li Fei’s house and Jiang He’s house. Though there were no big houses there, it was one of the most imposing yards in Jinyintan village.

Back at Jiang He’s yard, once Li Fei left, Jiang He began to study w.a.n.g Siyu.
He was...puzzled.
Why wouldn’t girls consider the feelings of their T-s.h.i.+rts when they dressed up?
It would be alright to buy a bigger-sized one, but they would rather stretch them to their limit... that said, it didn’t actually look bad when stretched too, though there was no telling how elastic it was and how it would feel to the touch.
Meanwhile, w.a.n.g Siyu blushed from Jiang He’s unrestrained gaze, and deliberately pouted cutely. “Thug.”
Hehe!
Jiang He chuckled evilly and said, “Don’t women love thuggish men these days? Alright, let’s chat inside.”
w.a.n.g Siyu slid a glance at the mansion then.
Even across the window, she could still see Sora busying away at the kitchen in her maid costume and promptly shook her head, saying, “I’m not going in.”
“Why don’t we have a stroll outside, then?”
With that, they left the house and had a stroll outside, with w.a.n.g Siyu looking at the houses around Jiang He’s.
The farmyards near his house were a mess, and signs of battle were everywhere. The Sky Demon Cultists’ attack and the clash against Three Blades Lin led to most of the houses collapsing into rubble.
The two of them had a lively chat talking about anything and everything, but after a while, they soon ran out of topics.
As always, a long silence ensued after several exchanges.
With that, air became rather awkward between them.
Deciding to get some topics to break the ice, Jiang He asked smilingly, “By the way, is your brother still working?”
“He went off to Sichuan.”
“Eh?”
Jiang He exclaimed in surprise. “Your brother may be an Awakened, but isn’t his power a support-type ability? It’s quite dangerous out there, so why would he run off to Sichuan?”
“Don’t you know? My brother founded a construction company consisting of Awakened, recruiting several D-cla.s.s earth-type and metal-type Awakened and even had a contract with the government. They’re now in charge of many construction and maintenance projects in many city bases.”
Jiang He could not help laughing.
That w.a.n.g Sizhen was quite something.
Still, it did not come as a surprise.
Both w.a.n.g Sizhen and w.a.n.g Siyu’s father had made their living as construction supervisors, with w.a.n.g Sizhen furthering his study in that field after graduating in high school. After that, he had joined his father’s group, more or less inheriting his father’s work.
Moreover, his awakened power was a rubber mallet, which was a natural advantage for construction work.
“By the way, I understand why your brother would recruit earth-type Awakened since that is very useful for building stuff. However, why would he recruit metal-type Awakened too?”
Jiang He was rather puzzled.
w.a.n.g Siyu held back her laughter and answered, “Tying rebars...”
Jiang He was dumbfounded.
Screw me!
If developed well, metal-type Awakened had a good chance of becoming Magneto himself, but they would rather tie rebars instead?
Really...they made good use of their powers!
Jiang He and w.a.n.g Siyu then talked about cultivation.
At present, w.a.n.g Siyu had developed inner strength and True Qi and formally reached rank-four, and rank-four intermediate at that. She had begun her martial arts training a month ago, and having developed so well in such a short time was G.o.dly progress.
Still, it was not that w.a.n.g Siyu had great talent—it was all thanks to Jiang He providing her with fine cultivation resources.
“Rank four martial artists can cultivate by taking qi pellets, but I don’t have any left.”
Despite having planted a lot of qi pellets before, Jiang He found no use for those after his cultivation improved.
That was why he had fed his pets the qi pellets before dumping what was left at Chongming Island when he needed s.p.a.ce in his System Backpack.
However, he still had the blended qi pellets.
It was useful for rank-six individuals or even rank-seven grandmasters, but a little too extravagant and wasteful for rank-four martial artists.
Nonetheless, that was just spare change for the rich and generous Jiang He.
“I have some blended qi pellet here,” he said. “You can have a hundred of these and it would be enough for you to cultivate up to rank-six. Come to me after you’ve finished them.”
w.a.n.g Siyu was stunned, and she quickly waved him off to decline.
“No way, blended qi pellets are so expensive. I can’t have them.”
As a matter of fact, the Superpower Research Department had recently introduced the blended qi pellets using certain rare materials to subst.i.tute for the original ingredients in subsequent researches. Though the production cost had almost been halved thanks to that, it was lacking in effect compared to version 1.0 of the blended qi pellets which Jiang He used.
Moreover, even though the MAD sold them, one pellet would cost around 1.5 million dollars even with the MAD staff discount.
As such, one hundred of those would basically fetch 150 million dollars, so how could w.a.n.g Siyu accept them?
But despite her firm reaction, Jiang He scowled and barked, “Why are you women so troublesome? A hundred blended qi pellets are nothing to me. I’ve fed them to the dogs by the buckets before.”
“And it’s me. Do you have to be so cagey?”
w.a.n.g Siyu almost giggled but retorted, “Keep boasting. Feeding dogs buckets of blended qi pellets? Do you have a mine in your house or something?”
“Mines?”
Jiang He shook his head seriously. “How much money could a mine make? I’m several times richer than those with mines at home now.”
As they continued strolling along and chatting, they returned to find Li Fei waiting at the front door.
The man must have earned even more money now and had swapped his BMW for a big Mercedes G-cla.s.s SUV. Winding down his window, he asked, “Old Jiang, w.a.n.g Siyu, done chatting yet? Should I go back first?”
“Just leave!” Jiang He barked, before adding, “Oh, and do come by again in two days’ time—I have something to give you.”
Li Fei was one of his handful of close friends, but this dog...had always lacked ambition. Even though those who awakened superstrength had always had an advantage in martial arts cultivation compared to others, it was clear the man had never cultivated.
“Alright, I’ll get out of the hair of you lovebirds,” Li Fei teased before flooring the pedal and left.
After Li Fei left, Jiang He led w.a.n.g Siyu to his mansion.
Inside, Sora came to greet them, asking sweetly, “Master, Miss w.a.n.g, dinner will soon be ready. Would you like to have it now?”
“Hold on.”
Jiang He waved her off, saying, “I have something to discuss with Miss w.a.n.g...by the way, Sora, please fetch me a handbag.”
Sora soon found a handbag and brought it to them.
It was a freebie from when Jiang He had bought some shoes and it even has the business slogan that read ‘Feels like flying’.
Jiang He then poured all hundred blended qi pellets he had in it, filling half of it.
He added two bottles of Origin Fluid as well.
“So, your free blended qi pellets come with mineral water too?” w.a.n.g Siyu teased. “Are you afraid that I would choke when I eat it?”
Giving her a little chop on the head, Jiang He smiled, “There’s rank-nine Origin Fluid inside those bottles. One is for spirit, while the other for cultivation and qi. You can easily reach rank-six pinnacle with these blended qi pellets and Origin Fluid. After that, I’ll help you ascend to rank-seven.”
w.a.n.g Siyu facepalmed and pouted, shooting a deliberate glare at Jiang He.
That look...
It was so cute.
They shared mutual feelings in the first place, and these intimate movements did bring them closer.
“Oh!”
Jiang He exclaimed then as he remembered something. “Come upstairs with me.”
He turned and headed above, while w.a.n.g Siyu hesitated for two seconds before clenching her teeth and followed.
Her heart was pounding, and her cheeks were a puffy red as if on fire.
What should I do?
Is Jiang He bringing me to his room...and do those stuff to me?
No way! I, w.a.n.g Siyu, am not someone so casual. I should play hard to get...I can’t just go with it! Eh?
Even as her thoughts run wild, she found that Jiang He had led her to the third-floor swimming pool when she looked up.
Jiang He himself had also took out a Blazing Tomato and said with a straight face, “Take off your clothes, get in the water, and eat this.”
w.a.n.g Siyu’s eyes widened. Tugging at the hem of her skirt, she stammered shyly, “I... I didn’t bring a swimsuit.”
Swimsuit?
Jiang He smile begrudgingly. “What are you thinking? This is a Blazing Tomato and you would awaken A-cla.s.s fire-type powers right after eating it. However, its power is so overwhelming that it would burn all your clothes into ashes.”
And I’m having you strip to help you awaken fire-type powers, but you’re thinking about swimming?
