Chapter 65: Planting A Swordplay: The Secret Text of Ninefold Thunderblade!
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The red Transformer stood silently at the center of the yard, and reverted to its sports car form with a single thought from Jiang He.
The car door opened then, and Jiang He entered.
Still, he was left dumbstruck when he sat on the driver’s seat.
Why did it feel like... something’s missing?
“Hold on. Where’s my steering wheel?”
“There’s no gear stick either...”
“Not even pedals?”
There was a single LCD display at the dashboard in front of him, but there was no way of input.
Jiang He only came to a realization then.
“You really reap what you sow... the toy car might look exquisite in appearance and could even change forms, it’s still a toy. Who would care what’s inside if the outside looks good?”
“There won’t even be a steering wheel on it!”
“Then doesn’t it mean I planted a good-looking but useless object?”
Even as he complained, Jiang He punched the screen in front of him.
Oom.
There was a soft murmur.
Rainbow light flashed over the screen, and soon rows of options were displayed.
“Auto-drive?”
“Audio-visual broadcast?”
“AutoNavi?”
“Armored form?”
Reaching out with his finger, he poked on the auto-drive option... to no effect.
He got nothing when he tried the other options as well.
After searching around the screen, he did not find anything resembling a b.u.t.ton either.
“Maybe... I have to control it with my head?”
With a glint on his eyes, Jiang He thought, ‘Auto-drive. Park outside.’
Wroom~
The engine purred.
The sports car hence drove off the red leaf and parked outside the gates to Jiang He’s house, a process that took zero input. The car itself evaded any obstacles, and most importantly, it drove on very steadily.

A System Notification jingled in his head.
When the car drove off the red leaf, it meant a successful harvest.
Getting off the car happily, Jiang He more or less understood the car’s function now.
“I just have to issue my orders and provide a destination. And as for armored mode... it would be issuing orders as well, which the Transformer would carry out on its own. Pity this place is too small and there’s no s.p.a.ce for it to put on a performance, or I could test how powerful its combat ability is in armored mode.”
Then, when Jiang He returned to the yard, the giant red leaf had already crumbled into black ashes—and Dumbo was shoveling and spreading it.
Nearby, the dragon-slaying blade was flouris.h.i.+ng too.
Between its two leaves, a blade hilt had crept out slowly.
The hilt itself was growing as well, albeit slowly.
Jiang He thought about grabbing the hilt and pulling it out, but eventually gave up on that idea.
“Ruining things with excessive enthusiasm never work...”
Hence, he took out a stool and the snake meat he had left. This time, he did not have to call out to Dumbo—the dog was already running towards him and breathing flames, and soon the fragrant smell of meat started wafting.
He handily sprinkled c.u.min, spice, and chili powder on it, then had Dumbo bake it for a dozen more minutes until the golden crispy snake meat was cooked.
Jiang He took one bite, and his face showed enjoyment.
“So sweet... is the flesh of all rank-seven Ferals that tasty?”
“It’s lucky that snake was so ma.s.sive, so I don’t have to worry that I won’t have any spare meat left.”
He then started chomping down on the meat and soon devoured it cleanly. That was when he looked down to find Dumbo and Trumbo crouching by his feet, salivating all over the ground.
Hence, he threw out a chunk of rank-six wolf meat.
However, Dumbo whimpered even as it clutched at its prize. Then, holding its paws level at the meat, it made some gestures.
Jiang He watched it for half a beat... before coming to an understanding. “You mean you want some condiments?”
Dumbo’s dog eyes showed delight, and it nodded fervently.
As such, Jiang He split some of his c.u.min, spice, and chili powder with Dumbo, who puffed its chest in salutation, kicking Trumbo away and howling a little.
Still, Trumbo showed no temper despite being a rank-three Feral. Instead, it mewed meekly several times, as if asking Dumbo a question.
These two...
Were conversing?
Jiang He blinked in curiosity.
Were they thinking about baking the meat themselves?
And unsurprisingly, Dumbo howled again, gesturing for the Three-tails Demon Cat to bring the shovel.
Hence, Trumbo stood on its rear legs, a ferocious aura bursting away from its body as it became as large as a pickup truck. While it held up the shovel with its two front paws, Dumbo put the meat on the shovel blade, before gaping its mouth to breath fire, and seasoned it after it was almost cooked.
“...”
Jiang He gaped...
Was that really a dog?
And it’s supposed to be rank-two...
Wasn’t it almost equal in intelligence to a rank-seven Feral?
Could it be because dogs have high IQ in the first place, which was why they were smarter after evolving?
Jiang He turned to look at his yard.
In it, the dragon-slaying blade had borne fruit.
However, what Jiang He found was a golden blade stabbed into the ground. While it no longer had the golden aesthetic common to upstarts, it still exuded a feeling that was hard to describe.
After thinking about it for some time, Jiang He muttered, “Bearing. That’s right, if blades have bearing as well, this blade had kept it inside itself, and what remains is subtlety and n.o.bleness.”
He reached out with his hand, shooting a gust of True Qi out of thin air.
Clang!
The dragon-slaying blade landed in his hand.
[Ding!]
[+1000 Farm Points.]
The design of the sword was identical to the design before it was planted, and Jiang He could feel an extremely sharp Sword Qi when it reached his fingers.
If the dragon-slaying blade before had been B-grade alloy weapon before, it was now a strengthened weapon with +25 stats, thanks to the combined effects of Jiang He’s farm and the Mysterious Soil!
As Jiang He stared at the blade in his hand, a row of data appeared.
[Dragon Slaying Saber]
[A blade forged from a mold of a golden dragon’s blood.]
[Attribute: lets out a burst of sword qi in the form of a dragon when charged.]
“...”
Jiang He’s mouth twitched.
What nonsense.
Before this, it was his w.a.n.g Mazi1 cleaver, which was claimed to have been forged from the steel extracted from a meteor after it was planted.
Fine...
He could pretend as if he did not bear witness to the making of the blade, and that w.a.n.g Mazi himself found asteroid steel and fas.h.i.+oned a cleaver out of it. On the other hand, the dragon-slaying blade itself had been forged by the old man who had awakened his hammer, so what the h.e.l.l did the mold of a golden dragon blood’s even mean?
“Fortunately, this saber is golden. If it was black, it would have been a black dragon’s blood mold.”
After playing the straight-man for a bit, Jiang He put away the Dragon-Slaying Saber.
He then took out a piece of paper from his pocket and smiled. “The blade has been planted. Now, the swordplay is all that’s left!”
The paper had a swordplay written on it, which Jiang He had copied from a novel named the Secret Text of the Ninefold Thunderblade.
Of course, Jiang He had also made some stuff himself, appropriately improving the power of the Ninefold Thunderblade.
For example:
[Mastery of the first fold of the Ninefold Thunderblade permits the one additional burst of dark energy, stacking strength to double the individual’s power.]
[Mastery of the ninth fold of the Ninefold Thunderblade permits nine additional bursts of dark energy, multiplying the individual’s power by tenfold!]
In other words, if Jiang He fully cultivated the Ninefold Thunderblade technique, a single burst of his Sword Qi would release ten times his normal strength.
For an even clearer distinction, Jiang He had also added special effects to the various techniques.
For example, mastery of the first fold would release a lightning cleave that extended over ten meters, whereas the second fold extended over twenty meters... and full mastery extended it over ninety meters!
Most importantly, it was much cooler that way!
