A loud siren suddenly came from the base before Zi Yi could answer him.

Everyone was startled.

As everyone speculated, Zi Yi turned and headed to the main control room. Runge quickly followed behind her.

After the other people caught on, they immediately followed behind them.

Everyone kept going until they reached the outside of the main control room.

The moment Zi Yi entered the main control room, the rest of them found themselves blocked off by an invisible barrier.

Runge shouted as he stood outside, “Zi Yi!”

When Zi Yi heard him shouting, she turned to look at him. After thinking briefly, she nodded to Runge. Runge proceeded to enter the room as well.

The others wanted to enter as well, but it was futile.

Zi Yi and Runge entered the main control room together.

A few large monitors could be found inside. Images of planets other than Earth could be seen on them.

The two of them stood in front of the monitors and looked at them for some time. Runge asked, “What happened?”

“The cameras used to surveil the other planets were taken out.”

“Who did it? Was it the Worm Race?”

“Yes.”

Runge’s voice turned stern as he said deeply, “In that case, we have to destroy them.”

Zi Yi turned her head to look at him. She frowned and said, “Do you want to die? My s.p.a.ces.h.i.+p won’t be ready for some time until I’ve gathered all the material I need.”

“What do you need?” asked Runge.

Zi Yi did not hold back and told him candidly.

Runge nodded and said, “Connect me to the highest in command for the National s.p.a.ce Agency of Country D.”

As he spoke, he removed his mask.

Zi Yi looked at the paper-thin mask and praised it. “This mask looks pretty good.”

Runge turned his head and glanced at her. He had long figured out she knew his true ident.i.ty.

The call went through for the highest in command at the National s.p.a.ce Agency of Country D. A group of people stood reverently on the screen. Runge stood with his back straight as a stern look radiated from his eyes.

He wasted no time and immediately gave the order for the things Zi Yi needed to be delivered.

No one dared to go against his order, but they did not understand the reason for it.

After giving the order, Runge stopped speaking.

When Zi Yi noticed his reaction, she did her best to explain the situation on his behalf. “Can you check your most advanced equipment used for monitoring other planets and see how they are?”

Everyone promptly checked the equipment.

The moment they discovered all the satellites were destroyed, they were shocked.

“What’s going on?”

“Our satellites were all destroyed. Why didn’t we realize?”

“Who did it?”

They exclaimed in shock among themselves before they turned to look at Zi Yi, hoping to learn the reason from her.

Zi Yi tapped and gave them access to see her monitor using theirs. She showed them footage from right before the cameras were taken out.

The moment they saw a scary unknown creature pa.s.s by swiftly on the footage, they were stunned.

“Is that a s.p.a.ce creature?”

“Is this an alien attack on our planet?”

“In that case, we have to prepare for battle!”

“Silence!” Runge suddenly shouted and everyone promptly shut up.

Zi Yi said, “That’s why Runge told you to send the materials over. We have to finish those creatures off in outer s.p.a.ce.”

The moment they heard what she said, no one else had doubts about the order anymore.

After ending the video call, Zi Yi contacted the local leaders as well.

Before long, lots of official notifications were sent locally. In less than 30 minutes, all the national leaders learned about the matter and went on high alert.

After she was done, Zi Yi said to Runge, “I was planning to give you a couple of days to recover but from the looks of it, we have to bring things forward. I will send you to the training room later.”

After they finished discussing this topic, they ended the call.

People were still standing outside the main control room.

When everyone saw Zi Yi and Runge walk out of the main control room, they were startled.

The two of them walked up in front of the people and Zi Yi said, “Those who pa.s.sed the test will enter the training room immediately. You have 30 minutes to mentally prepare yourselves.”

“Zi Yi, didn’t we have two days to go before we went for training? What happened?”

“Something happened. When you get to the main control room, you can see for yourselves.”

Zi Yi did not explain further. She simply checked the time and gestured for them to follow her.

When they got to a building, Zi Yi saw two people sitting nearby.

It was Qin Ze and Lu Ming.

Zi Yi pondered briefly before walking toward them. Since they did not pa.s.s the test, they were clearly very dejected. “Come with me.”

Their eyes promptly lit up as they asked in unison, “Are you going to make an exception and train us?”

“Nope,” said Zi Yi bluntly. “You didn’t make the cut.”

The two of them were deeply disappointed.

Zi Yi had no intention of consoling them.

She sent Runge and the others for training first and got the robot to make arrangements for the people who volunteered to stay on.

When she was done, she brought them to the bas.e.m.e.nt.

The deepest bas.e.m.e.nt was nearly 100 meters underground.

When they got to the lowest floor, they saw it was a huge empty s.p.a.ce.

Tang Ze asked, “Zi Yi, why did you bring us here? There’s nothing here.”

Zi Yi pressed her wrist watch and a large monitor appeared in front of them. The machine on the screen made them open their eyes wide in astonishment.

“Mecha?”

As Zi Yi spoke, a few mecha appeared on the monitor.

Their eyes lit up.

Lu Ming asked Zi Yi excitedly, “Sister-in-law, what do you want us to do?”

Every man dreamed of being a hero, especially one involving the conquering of outer s.p.a.ce. The two of them could already imagine themselves using the battle mecha to face off s.p.a.ce creatures.

They were so pumped by the thought that their faces were red.

Zi Yi poured a bucket of cold water on them. “I brought you here to tell you that mecha will be produced here in the future. However, a lot of the materials which are required can only be found in s.p.a.ce.”

Disappointment appeared on their faces.

Zi Yi continued speaking, “To date, I’m the only person capable of making mecha. I brought you here to ask you if you wanted to do it with me.”

The moment they heard the offer, their eyes lit up again.

“Absolutely.”

Zi Yi smiled. “Good. For the next three months, you will undergo training. In three months time, you will understand all the theories surrounding the production of mecha. Any objections?”

“No problem.”

“Ok.”

The moment she finished her sentence, Zi Yi snapped her fingers and they disappeared.

“I’ve sent you to a virtual s.p.a.ce. In three months, it will disappear and you can come out.”
