“Accident? What happened?”
Irene was relentless as she continued to ask.
Fike had no choice but to elaborate.
“I once taught myself a set of long-range spells, so I can cast them now.
“Maybe that's why the stone tablet a.s.signed me to the Mage Cla.s.s!”
Fike said nervously.
At the moment, Irene was clinging tightly onto Fike's body.
The b.u.t.tons on her school uniform had burst open due to some curious force, exposing a patch of her fair chest before Fike's eyes.
“Then, what's your main cla.s.s?”
“Priest.”
Fike said shakily, gulping.
“Priest? Can you really learn the skills of a mage as a priest?”
Irene asked with a curious, naive expression.
Although Fike was certainly powerful, social interaction was not one of his strong suits.
He currently could not tell whether Irene was really such a naive and innocent person, or she was deliberately putting on a farce.
Thus, Fike's face was slightly red as he replied.
“Yes, my main cla.s.s is a priest.”
Irene wore a surprised look on her face.
“Then was it you who defeated Blue yesterday? I've heard several people saying that on the way here.
“Was it really you? How did you defeat him? Is Blue strong? I heard that his strength is ranked among the top five of the Melee School…”
In the face of Aileen's incessant questions, Fike could only nod his head politely.
He was beginning to feel a little embarra.s.sed, and his patience was wearing thin from being perpetually interrogated.
From the moment the roll call had been made, people had been unceasingly asking him about his fight with Blue.
Meanwhile, as he had been focused on his Q&A session, everyone had already run ten laps.
Fike realized that the speed of the group had noticeably decreased. Even Irene had run out of energy to continue speaking, and simply ran as she wiped off her sweat from time to time.
His gaze unconsciously s.h.i.+fted to her bouncing chest, and his face flushed red again before he quickly turned away.
Before long, there were some who were unable to keep up with the advancing group, led at the front by a black-haired youth.
Fike had already made an impression of this youth earlier.
As the roll call had been ongoing, the mention of him had also caused quite a stir.
“Do you guys know? I heard that he killed a Liege-tier Exotic Beast before he entered the school!”
“Really, really? A Liege-tier Exotic Beast?”
“He's that strong? I can't believe it!”
The young man's name was Ah Fei.
'No wonder his speed has remained so uniform. He may have some considerable strength after all…'
Even as he had been chatting with the others since the start of the run, Fike had still been paying attention to the movements of the group in the meantime.
Ah Fei had not rushed to the front at the start. Just like him, he had simply followed along, staying in the middle of the pack.
It was not until the number of laps had increased and the people before him slowed down that he caught up, gradually increasing his speed.
As he was making the observation, Irene spoke to Fike again.
“Fike, aren't you tired? Why… why didn't I see you… Did you even drop a drop of sweat?”
Fike turned to look at the panting girl.
“Maybe my stamina is better!”
After a while, everyone had finally completed the fifty laps.
The person who finished with the best time was Ah Fei.
As Fike had remained in the middle of the crowd throughout, he naturally took longer to finish than Ah Fei.
When they were all done, Fike observed the youth again, noticing that he was only barely sweating and was not panting exaggeratedly like the others at all.
Just as Fike was looking at him, Ah Fei met his gaze.
There was no hostility in his eyes, but there was no sign of friendliness either.
Soon, everyone returned to the cla.s.sroom.
Seeing that they had returned, the teacher, Maggie, smiled.
“Please follow the rules of the cla.s.s, or you will have to run every day!”
Her eyes scanned the group of exhausted students pouring into the cla.s.sroom after completing 50 laps in the hot sun.
She found that other than Fike, everyone else was more or less sweating to some extent. She looked at him in slight surprise.
After everyone had returned to their seats, Maggie started again.
“As for my introduction, I believe that some of you may have already seen my details on the poster hanging at the entrance of the school building.
“I will confirm your doubts. I'm a low-grade mage, the weakest among all.”
Looking at the students, who were beginning to whisper their opinions among themselves, Maggie raised her voice by a few decibels.
“At the same time, I'm also the one who taught and produced ten top ten students in the same grade.”
Hearing this, the haughty students quieted down.
“My lessons are more focused on theory and practice. As for cultivation, I'm sure that my students can complete that on their own.”
Fike was actually quite happy when he heard this. For him, cultivation was already part of his daily routine.
Although he received some hints periodically from the hidden information, it didn't help him much with deducing and simulating the infinite possibilities of his various cultivation methods and skills.
Coincidentally, this teacher, Maggie, was adept in the field of theory and practice.
This could greatly help him make up for his shortcomings in those aspects.
“Alright, students, before we begin, we will first need to choose a cla.s.s monitor. Who would like to volunteer?”
The cla.s.s was quiet, except for a very familiar voice.
“Me, teacher! I want to be the cla.s.s monitor!”
The one who spoke up was Irene, seated beside Fike.
Gazing blankly at the overenthusiastic girl, teacher Maggie sighed before asking again helplessly.
“Is there anyone else besides Irene who wants to be the cla.s.s monitor?”
Teacher Maggie looked at Fike hopefully.
He lowered his head, averting his gaze.
Seeing that no one responded, Maggie sighed.
“Then Irene will be the temporary cla.s.s monitor.”
Irene clapped her hands happily.
“Yes, teacher Maggie, don't worry. I will do my best to manage the cla.s.s!”
The teacher gave a weak smile before she continued.
“Okay, okay. Since the cla.s.s monitor has been decided, let's start the cla.s.s now!
“I'll begin with a question. How much do you all know about magic spell skills?”
Maggie asked enthusiastically.
As no one answered her, she went on.
“Do you think the quality of spell skills determines their power completely?”
This time, Zelle answered.
“Of course, teacher. Otherwise, why would so many people go after high-quality, high-level spells?”
Glad that someone had spoken up, Maggie replied.
“If Zelle's answer had been made around ten years ago, of course, it would be correct. However, in recent years, I have made a major discovery.”
Deliberately keeping the suspense, she continued.
“I've found a new method. With it, even the weakest, lowest leveled fireball can burst with extreme power!
“I've named this method Advanced Upgrade!”
