“Father, are you certain the sea demon they all talk about is Sea Ao?”

In the open waters, one man and one child flew about, looking all over the place for something other than water and more water. Qiao’er had to express her doubts about this ineffective solution.

Zhuo Fan’s eyes shone, “Someone once told me that the world has three forbidden areas where any mortal will die, Lightning Canyon, Fire Pit and Ice Mountain. They appear on and off across the world, with no fixed location.

These areas are prisons for the sacred beasts. Lightning Canyon holds Qilin, Fire Pit holds dragon ancestor so that leaves Ice Mountain being another prison where a Sacred beast is. But because the prisoners wore down at the barriers of the prisons for ages now, the dragon ancestor managed to relocate to Ultimate Clarity Sect, so the Sea Ao must’ve done the same in the North Sea. Just from hearing Ice Mountain, it’s easy to tell the entrance has to be extremely cold. With my sharp senses, we’re going to find it for sure!”

Qiao’er nodded as she flew by his side while looking for anything out of place. Zhuo Fan honed in on his senses, probing for anything truly cold, far colder than the icy waters of the sea below him.

A loud thunder clap exploded behind him.

Zhuo Fan paused and looked back with a gasp. The sky behind them was now a sea of purple, tearing at the sky and bringing doom to those below.

It was the Sea Bright Sect, the same place they were at just a while ago.

“Purple lightning, how come the Invincible Sword came out so soon…” Zhuo Fan’s brow shook, then he flew back at once.

Qiao’er was startled, “Where are you going, father?”

“I need to see if your mother left safely. If she’s stuck there…” Zhuo Fan’s eyes shone coldly, “We’ll have no choice but to face the Invincible Sword ourselves!”

Zhuo Fan sped up, his figure gone from here.

“Father, wait for me!”

Qiao’er cried and rushed to catch up. But then she felt a chill all over and looked around bemused, “Why is it getting so cold all of a sudden?”

Rubbing her shoulder to fend off the biting chill, Qiao’er glanced about but at the calm waters. There was no wind and the sun was still up.

She just shook her head with a chuckle, “I must be feeling things. But this North Sea sure is cold.”

Qiao’er rushed after Zhuo Fan, leaving as well.

Mere moments later, the calm sea s.h.i.+fted, Thick mist blew in, just like after a heavy rain, and covered everything in a blink of an eye.

A cold like no other swept the surface of the sea, freezing it on the spot. The thousands of lifeforms in its waters were unable to even budge, frozen stiff among the ice.

Two huge light sources suddenly came from deep in the mist, one looking bright, while the other dimmed.

“What’s that noise? Are humans fighting?”

Far from the thick mist were constant booms echoing about, making the rumbling voice inside cackle, “That vile race only knows how to look for more reasons to kill itself off. Their own fellow people slaughter until everything turns red. One moment they asked me for permission to go out to sea and the next they’re killing each other. Ha-ha, great, perfect! Since neither side can stand the other, let me give you a hand and swallow you both, hi-hi-hi…”

A creepy laughter echoed out from the fog as it drifted swiftly, going towards the Sea Bright Sect. The waters turned ice wherever it pa.s.sed in an instant.

With it came the shuddering and haunting voice of a demon, “I open my doors to you, welcoming you to become dessert, hi-hi-hi…”

The sea overlord was coming to sh.o.r.e!

In the Sea Bright Sect, the Invincible Sword was showcasing his unstoppable power against the other swordwielders, taking control of the skies and striking terror in the hearts of men.

He looked at everyone with nothing but disdain, while the other Baili experts held their heads high and mocking the enemy.

[See that? That’s the Patriarch’s power right there. What are you yokels going to do about it?]

Ling Yuntian’s face fell, his team sighing heavily with worry as they watched in sorrow.

The ten juniors aside, Baili Yutian was sufficiently monstrous alone that they together couldn’t handle him, let alone the other five Sword Kings by his side.

Ling Yuntian’s heart sank as he looked around.

[We need Sir Zhuo’s mind now more than ever. What’s taking Miss Murong so long to deliver one simple message?]

“Children!”

Baili Yutian’s eyes shone and shouted, “Scatter and have fun, but don’t interfere with my enjoyment!”

“Yes!”

The others cupped their hands and flew off, into the sect.

Now there was only the Invincible Sword against the other lands’ strongest.

Murong Lie’s eyes twitched. Decimating Sword shook in his hand as he spat, “Like a true Invincible Sword, you even had the Sword Kings leave your side. You want to fight all of us all by yourself?”

“Don’t I have what it takes?” Baili Yutian mocked.

“More than enough. The Invincible Sword’s power is too much for us to disregard.” Ling Yuntian chuckled, “But aren’t you scared something might happen and you’d have no one to aid you if you send the Sword Kings away?”

The Invincible Sword’s face twitched and he looked harder at him before laughing in his face, “Sect Leader Ling, you’re still up for jokes? Accident? You think of yourself capable of giving me that?” 

“Invincible Sword, don’t get smart with us. All of us here are as strong as your Nine Sword Kings and we have three divine swords on top. A sudden incident might do you in!”

Murong Lie roared and pointed at him. The others were equally resentful, flaring their auras at him.

The Invincible Sword couldn’t care less, merely tracing Sundering Sword’s edge, as if in his own world. “All bark and no bite. Show me what you’re made of and not prattle me to death! As for Nine Sword Kings, humph, they’re nothing but children making a scene. You think you can scare me with that? Ha-ha-ha, that’s rich.”

“People, he was our target to begin with. Now that there’s no one helping him, it’s the best chance we can get. Charge!” With how nothing could ever earn the old man’s respect, Ling Yuntian sent to the others, “Use his conceit to your advantage and make him pay with his life before he gets cautious and makes it harder for us!”

The others nodded and shouted as they stormed Baili Yutian with their best skills.

“Decimating Sword, Decimating Inferno!”

Murong Lie slashed and the golden sword exploded with flames at Baili Yutian. The fire formed a sword wave that shot with such heat that it warped the air and even left black cracks.

“Soaring Sword Art, Soaring Skies!”

Shangguan Feixiong shouted and hacked with the Soaring Sword. The scarlet sword wave shot with incredible speed for its quarry. 

“Heaven Sealing Sword Art, World Seal!”

Ouyang Lingtian was not one to be left behind. He waved his sword, devoid of the savage nature like the rest, but hiding an incredible force behind its subtle nature. The attack reached Baili Yutian’s side and was about to engulf him.
