Chapter 1720: A Glaring Flaw!
The three rays of soul-arresting, utterly breathtaking rainbow light stirred the Utmost Purity Galaxy in both expected and unexpected ways. It was a rarely seen phenomenon, the utilization of the Star Bridge Area owned and activated by the Incandescent Star Palace, yet it was widely recognized as the defining sight of an incredible existence.
Initially, those who had exceptional perceptions noticed the incoming Stellar Transit Light and pondered, discussed, and gossiped about who was arriving, where they were going, and how great it must be to possess such astonis.h.i.+ng wealth and connections to reach regions across the galaxies in the shortest time imaginable to them.
Then, the expected discussions of envy, jealousy, and desire collapsed by a single question that would inevitably arise: "Which Star Bridge Array did they use?"
It seemed like a simple question with an easy answer, but upon further thought, there were no Star Bridges of the Incandescent Star Palace established beyond the Utmost Purity Galaxy. Not a single one. Moreover, while there existed legendary tools or vessels that could generate and guide Stellar Transit Light such as the Minor Elysium, they were few and far between, and the Utmost Purity Galaxy's galactic sh.e.l.l and defenses would have warded off any intrusion. Only the Incandescent Star Palace's unique aura had the ability to exit the sh.e.l.l without world-demolis.h.i.+ng levels of hindrance, taking it a step further, which meant it could enter just as easily through this established bypa.s.s permit granted to them.
But that particular direction and point of origin of this Stellar Transit Light defied all theories, yet they were undoubtedly the Incandescent Star Palace's refined and slightly modified Stellar Transit Light!
Something was amiss!
This was why countless powerful Spiritual Sense tried racing after the Stellar Transit Light to investigate, some casual, others extremely domineering, and Wei Wuyin had taken this in stride, directly admitting that it was the Incandescent Star Palace's newest experimental invention. This grew some doubts and dissatisfaction at the potential growth of the palace by its more hostile foes, but similarly produced sighs of great relief and excitement.
Some had great investments into the Incandescent Star Palace and received some profits for either allowing the permit or entering and exiting specific regions of the galaxy or a direct cut of the profits earned by its valuation and earnings after early investments.
For one particular organization, however, they were unbelievably baffled.
The Incandescent Star Palace's Star Bridge was located in a single location, an entire starfield centered around a single Solar Star that burned white-hot, that was both a Solar Star and the core array flag of the galactically famous Star Bridge. The entire starfield, from each planet to every lunar satellite and even the asteroids resembling spatial debris, was part of a great array known as the Star Bridge.
There were six planets, and they formed a static celestial formation that, regardless of where you observed them from, would resemble a Big Dipper in the starry sky with the star acting as their core. From afar, each planet was easily mistaken as a separate solar star due to the reflective qualities of their atmospheric layers.
It was known by all as the Seven Incandescent Starfield, home of the Incandescent Star Palace and the Star Bridge Array that allowed galactic travel to be safe, easy, and incredibly swift. Due to the necessity of neutrality that could benefit all forces and supreme experts, the Seven Incandescent Starfield was a part of the Utmost Purity Galaxy but not a part of any of the seven Galactic Zones. It was an independent starfield, forced into its independence by the unanimous decision of the galaxy's denizens, commonly seen as a forbidden zone.
It was not only granted independence from the Seven Utmost Towers but was heavily protected and exempt from certain responsibilities. This was how significant the Incandescent Star Palace was to the galaxy, especially the Star Bridge.
Why exactly?
Almost all extragalactic travel and dealings, such as alchemical trades and s.h.i.+pping, were done through the Star Bridge. The Star Bridge allowed cultivators from galaxies such as the Treasured Vale Galaxy, Prosperous Ruin Galaxy, and other neighboring galaxies, supreme forces that lived independently of galaxies, and many more to obtain high-level alchemical resources.
It had to be protected!
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that a threat to the Incandescent Star Palace would elicit a response from multiple galaxies without hesitation within the shortest possible time.
This paramount organization's main headquarters was a stone palace that couldn't be described as ma.s.sive, small, opulent, or poor. Its walls flowed with a low-emitted, heated light that could warm the soul, while each brick placed was inscribed with gorgeously symmetrical runes that were consistent on each brick, yet their orientation painted a miraculous picture of a blazing star if one observed it from the sky at the right angle, at the right time.
Within this palace's Main Hall were three figures seated together around a round table, staring at a watery screen at the center of this table. It was projecting the striking image of the Stellar Transit Light bypa.s.sing the galactic defenses and traveling somewhere. Sitting at the head seat that was slightly elevated than the others, a young white-haired man dressed in animated starry robes, each with a white-hot star that mystically emitted its own warmth, had both hands on the table, his palms facing flat, and his white pupils and starry irises stared intently at the projection.
He wasn't handsome or ugly, yet he exuded a lofty, wealthy charm while emitting an aura of extreme importance and unfathomable depth. His starry eyes glowed with a soulful light as if the heavens could be seen with each glance. This particular sign was indicative of his incredible cultivation base!
A Supreme Sage!!!
Besides him were two others that heavily resembled each other, certainly related in some way, both quite young in appearance, a man and a woman in their early twenties, and they were both extraordinarily attractive with lush blonde hair, slender bodies, and flawless skin, yet their youthful looks were exposed by their gazes that contained significant wisdom and age, especially the faint glow of soul light interlaced with their Spiritual Energy within their eyes—Soul Perception!
They were not Supreme Sages, but not very far off!
Enlightened Sages!
As they silently stared at the screen, they had just heard the obvious lies that the starry-eyed alchemist had boldly declared. The two Enlightened Sages briefly glanced at each other in doubt, then turned to look at the white-haired Supreme Sage!
"... "
"... "
"... "
After a long while, the white-haired young man revealed a helpless smile that seemed to be on the verge of gleeful laughter. "To think that he would expose my plans because of his impatience to handle this matter with World-Saint White Sky. Always a rash one," the white-haired Supreme Sage shook his head, following along as the doubtful gazes of the two looked his way, "Since the matter has been exposed, I'll have to handle it personally. It seems I owe you two an apology for keeping this a secret until now."
His words caused the two to immediately respond with slight panic. The young man hastily said, "No need to apologize to us, Palace Lord."
The young woman followed with a bright smile that could easily lower one's guard and snare one's heart, "Absolutely no need, Palace Lord."
The white-haired Supreme Sage referred to as Palace Lord could only chuckle in response. He clenched his two hands, and the watery screen exploded into a clear liquid, returning to a small porcelain bowl at the center of the table. "Let's return to our original discussion to determine the gift for the wedding of Pavilion Master Shang."
The two Enlightened Sages nodded in perfect unison. In truth, both of their hearts were pounding. Neither of them were idiots, and while they were doubtful of the truth, they didn't dare to expose it for fear of the outcome. If, by some unG.o.dly coincidence, someone out there who was foreign to the galaxy could harness the Star Bridge's auric signature and power without the Star Bridge Array, this would affect the entire dynamic of multiple galaxies and threaten their business.
The Incandescent Star Palace could collapse instantly! If the situation was just as they had originally thought, that a foreigner had breached their security and abused their galactic-wide permits, they feared that the Palace Lord would act first out of pure shock, exposing this glaring flaw that would end them.
As long as everything was under their control, including their impulses to get to the bottom of this, all things could be handled. It had to be handled! Carefully! Delicately! Perfectly!
At the helm of Minor Elysium, Wei Wuyin's gaze s.h.i.+fted slightly as a satisfied smile hung on his lips. As long as the Incandescent Star Palace acted within his expectations, exercising necessary restraint to preserve the security and value of their name, many things for the future, especially the upcoming war, were going to be significantly easier.
The Heavenly War Spirit, however, was on tenterhooks the entire time, fearing that a Supreme Sage would descend without warning. She was constantly rolling around as a s.h.i.+fting golden ma.s.s, unable to calm down. How can a youth under the age of two hundred be so daring to play around with forces of this level?! This was no different than dangling around the edge of h.e.l.l with a chance of falling in at the slightest mistake!
She was unaware that Wei Wuyin had always been at that edge for almost a century. Moreover, he had jumped down quite a few times and climbed back out unscathed, unable to leave that edge, knowing that a vicious wind would always blow him back down, deeper and deeper.
Since Wei Wuyin dared to scheme against a galaxy, he would dare to scheme against Supreme Sages, and perhaps in the future, Divinities and Immortals would be included in that list!
Eventually, under the watchful and curious gazes of numerous supreme experts, the three rays of Stellar Transit Light arrived at the Growth Zone's Northwestern Region, a Stellar Region called the Swirling Growth Stellar Region, and within that vast region, the starfield that was home to the Utmost Purity Hall, the Tiny Heart Starfield.
White Sky's small hands bundled into tight fists, resembling her own nerves. While Wei Wuyin was leading this and decided to 'handle' it, she was still under an arrest warrant issued by the Seven Utmost Tower's authority, and they had lost a Dao Clash that made them lose exclusive lineage rights and concoction methods. This was a sign of an initial decline of any organization! How could she not be nervous?
This would decide her fate! And what will be left of it after?
