Chapter 143 - Business Partners.h.i.+p (1)
But what the girl said had reminded her of something. Spots on the face were usually caused by an imbalance of hormones. Shu Yan decided to seek out a traditional doctor later on and see if traditional herbal medicines would help.
“Boss Lady, I feel that it’s best to stay away from folk prescriptions.” Yingying advised against it. “When my neighbor had no kids after a year of marriage, her mother-in-law found her a bunch of folk prescriptions and she ended up in the hospital. They finally found out that everything was fine with her and that her husband was the source of the problem.”
Shu Yan looked at Yingying and said, “Okay, I get it.”

The pet.i.te girl from yesterday was so enthusiastic that she returned the very next day with the folk prescription and walked over the application of it with Shu Yan in detail.
“Thank you so much, I will try it as soon as I get home.” Shu Yan truly thought the girl was merely talking about it and would have forgotten about it after she left or that she wouldn’t recall it until her next visit. She hadn’t expected her to make a special trip over the next day.
Shu Yan was going to give her a set of clothes to thank her but the little girl would not accept it. Shu Yan gave her a members.h.i.+p card instead and the little girl expressed that she’d be back frequently to make more purchases.
That afternoon, Shu Yan went over to check out the storefront across the street again. Others had already caught wind and were over to check out the place. Everybody was hesitant because of the pricing. Shu Yan was a bit anxious. As the old adage goes, a shop can feed three generations. As long as there wasn’t a descendent who’d lose all the family wealth, even if someone has no skills whatsoever, the rent from the store would be able to support the family. The ones with ability would be able to multiple their a.s.sets. That was why there was no problem for a storefront on West City Nan Road to sell.
If she missed this opportunity, she wouldn’t know when the next opportunity would come. Shu Yan planned to go ask Lao Hu. When push came to shove, she’d just pay a bit more to get the place.
Walking past the kindergarten, Shu Yan ran into Tianbao’s teacher.
“Perfect timing, Mother Tianbao. I was just wondering how to get hold of you.” The teacher had heard about Shu Yan’s ability. She was the one who brought with her a group of parents and grandparents and ended up displacing the princ.i.p.al and the vice princ.i.p.al of the kindergarten. The teacher was particularly polite when she spoke with Shu Yan.
“What’s the matter? Did Tianbao get into some sort of trouble?” If the teacher was looking for her, it must have to do with the children. Ye Tianbao had been behaving himself lately so Shu Yan had been relatively lax with him recently. Did something else happen?
“Tianbao beat another kid up and the kid was crying. I have already informed his parents and they should be here any minute now,” said the teacher as she walked Shu Yan into the office.
If it was before, Shu Yan would for sure a.s.sume that it was Tianbao’s fault without asking. But Tianbao had really been behaving himself lately, so Shu Yan decided to find out what happened first.
There were two kids inside the teachers’ lounge. Tianbao, standing next to the wall, glared viciously over at the child that was crying from time to time.
“Tianbao.” Shu Yan called out to him.
“Mom.” Seeing Shu Yan, Tianbao lowered his head right away. He waited for a while and there was no scolding or beating. Tianbao looked up carefully at Shu Yan.
“Tell mommy, why did you beat up the other child?” Shu Yan squatted down and asked him in her calmest tone possible.
Tianbao glanced over at Shu Yan. Seeing that she truly was not mad at him, he said, “He was the one who started it by saying that I don’t have a dad.”
“You don’t have a dad!” The little boy, who had been crying, said loudly when he heard Tianbao’s words.
“Are you still going to say that?” Tianbao balled up his little fist and was going to lunge at him again, only to be stopped by Shu Yan.
“Yangyang, how could you talk like that? Apologize to your friend right away.” The person, who arrived at the entrance of the office, heard her son’s cry and quickly scolded him. “Perhaps my son shouldn’t have said that, but that didn’t mean your son could hit him either. Just look at his face; he’s all bruised already.”
Shu Yan took a look at him. What bruising? That was just dirt that he had gotten on his face when he was messing around. That being said, this mother was fairly rational and not the unreasonable type. Otherwise, it’d pose a bigger problem for Shu Yan.
“A good kid will change his behavior if he knows that he was wrong. Little kiddo Yangyang, can you tell me why you said that to Tianbao?” Shu Yan felt that her heart was heavy. She knew that she would attract gossip being a single mother of two, but she hadn’t expected that it’d happen so soon and that it would have affected her child first.
