Chapter 146 - Business Partners.h.i.+p (4)
“Then why did you start your own shop as soon as you settled down in City Nan? Not having time is just an excuse. You don’t need to worry about capital. We won’t need too much for the time being. I am thinking, I’ll put in my factory and you put in your clothing shop and we can be equal partners. What do you think?”
Shu Yan didn’t know what to make of that. “Of course not. My clothing shop and your factory are not equitable.”
“Your clothing shop isn’t worth much, but you are.” Hu Ruixue went silent for a little bit. “Even my big brother praised about your promotional activities. He said if you had been to school and had some formal trainings, you would for sure be an elite in the business world.
Shu Yan felt embarra.s.sed. She had copied all of those ideas. Hu Ruixue’s compliments made her blush.
“I just had a few good ideas was all.” She couldn’t tell her that someone else had come up with those, so she had to be vague about it.
“That was just a few good ideas. My big brother doesn’t compliment others very often. Shu Yan, I am sincere about wanting to work with you. Well, we can’t talk much about the details over the phone. Why don’t we have lunch together tomorrow and talk in person? And, don’t worry about that Zhu Hung. I’ll take care of her.”
When she got home, Shu Yan didn’t even think more about getting rid of her pregnancy spots. She quickly bathed and thought about joining forces with Hu Ruixue while she laid in bed.
Everybody has some ambition. Back in her days after she had graduated from college, she had wanted to have a career as well. She didn’t even look into any of the smaller companies. She applied only to international traded companies. She had sent out some thirty or so resumes but heard nothing back. That was the wake-up call to her and, distressed, she returned to her home town and just got a job. It was disguised as preparing for a government job. And she did think about what she’d do once she became a government employee. But that went on for two years and she still wasn’t able to land herself a government job. Her family, by then, started to pressure her into getting married. Which was when she returned to City Nan and finally just became an everyday white-collared worker at an everyday company.
In her own world, the society had taught her about life. Which was why after she had transmigrated, her thought process had been very simple. She wasn’t a mighty person. A dragon would still be a dragon no matter where it went. She was just a normal person. Her only advantage over the others was her knowledge about the future that was dozens of years from now and was able to gain some headways in this era that was filled with opportunities.
Problem was she now has an opportunity presented to her. Hu Ruixue had the resource and the capital. Working with her would make things so much easier. It seemed silly to walk away from this opportunity.
Ah well. She would worry about it when she met up with Hu Ruixue tomorrow. Zhu Hung would be taken care of. She had her chances but she blew it.
Hu Ruixue had, once again, sent someone to pick up Shu Yan. They were meeting in a courtyard in some side street. The place did not look like a restaurant whether it was from the outside or the inside. This must be one of those legendary private resident restaurants that only served big bosses.
“This place makes very authentic City Nan cuisine. You can try it out for yourself.” Hu Ruixue poured some tea for Shu Yan and pushed the snacks in front of her. “Their pastries are pretty good too, but don’t have too much of them now.”
Shu Yan picked up a piece and put it inside of her mouth. Up until now, she had always thought that “melting in your mouth” was just a figure of speech. As it turned out, it was true. It was so good that she devoured the first piece and had to stop her urge to pick up a second piece. Shu Yan was now looking for to the other dishes.
