Chapter 173 - Protection (2)
Shu Yan wrote down the numbers for both the grocery shop downstairs and her shop and had them memorized them.
“This is the number to the aunty at the grocery shop and this one is to Mommy’s shop. You must memorize them.” Shu Yan took a look at the oblivious Tianbao and twisted his ear. “Especially you. Have you committed it to your memories yet?”
“Yes, Mom,” said Tianbao as he covered up his little ear.
Shu Yan bathed Tianbao and took a quick bath herself. Changing into her pajamas and collapsing onto her bed, she no longer wanted to move.
“Mommy, I want to sleep with you,” said JingJing as she walked over with her little pillow in her hands.
“Okay, c’mon up then. Hurry up and sleep. Tomorrow is Monday and you both need to get up to go to school.” It was a little bit cool at night and, worried that she’d grab all the blanket at night, all three of them had their own individual blanket.
“Mommy, I want to listen to a story,” said Tianbao suddenly.
“How about tomorrow? Mommy is very tired after her long day out of town. What say we play a game? Do you know how to play mannequin challenge?” Seeing that the two kids have nodded, Shu Yan smiled and said, “Okay, then let’s get started right away!”
Shu Yan scooted into a comfortable position and fell asleep. JingJing turned and looked carefully. Meeting Tianbao’s black and s.h.i.+ny eyes, she really wanted to tell him that Mommy wasn’t playing a game with them, she was already sound asleep.
Little kids were only fuzzy when they first went to bed. It didn’t take them long to actually fall asleep. It wasn’t long before Tianbao had fallen asleep with his arms around Shu Yan’s. Seeing that her little brother had already fallen asleep, JingJing, too, closed her eyes.
When Shu Yan went to get breakfast the next morning, she specifically looked around but did not notice Feng Zeyu. Was he not here yet? She went back home to have breakfast with her two children dubiously. After she had dropped her kids off at school after dinner and went to wait for the bus, she still hasn’t spotted Feng Zeyu. It was until she had settled in the bus before she spotted Feng Zeyu walking up at a moderate pace.
Had he been following behind her this entire time? Shu Yan was going to sit over by him but she saw that Feng Zeyu shook his head at her, gesturing her to stay where she was.
She glanced over at Feng Zeyu and noticed that he paid her no attention as though she was just a stranger to him. She suddenly had an idea and stopped looking at him.
After she had gotten off the bus, Feng Zeyu had also gotten off and followed behind her at a distance. He only turned around and left after Shu Yan had reached the front of her shop.
She had wanted to stop him but a few other boss ladies were looking at her so she had to give up on that idea. Her store was somewhat well-known on West City Nan Road and many knew about her. They all knew that she has always been coming to work by herself and be with her kids by herself over the weekends. Had she stopped Feng Zeyu right now, it would for sure cause a lot of misunderstandings.
“Hey, Boss Lady, you are back?” Yingying gave Shu Yan a big smile when she saw her.
“How did the shop do the last couple of days?” Shu Yan pulled out her accounting book and took a look. The sales were decent, especially her fall sets. She suddenly got an idea to convert her other shopfront to specialize in undergarments. That ought to do well.
“Nothing particular happened at the shop. Oh yeah, a woman with the surname Hu called you. She said to have you give her a call back when you return,” said Yingying when she suddenly recalled the call.
“Oh, okay. I will.” Shu Yan returned her call but Hu Ruixue wasn’t home. “She’s not home right now. I’ll go and pick up some merchandizes from the train station. If she calls back, let her know that I will be back in the afternoon.”
