Chapter 186 - "Mommy, are you making dinner for that uncle today?" (3)
Once she got off the car, Shu Yan, again, waited for everyone to get off before she smacked herself on her forehead. “What were you thinking, Shu Yan? Go pick the kids up, get groceries, and go home and cook.”
“Mom, are you still going to cook dinner for that Uncle?”
After they were finished with dinner, JingJing docilely pulled out the lunchbox but her mother did not take it from her.”
“Mmm, Uncle went home already. We don’t need to make dinner for him anymore.” Shu Yan felt less at loss now. She smiled and said, “Go back to eating now.”
After they have finished cleaning up, Shu Yan sat down and wrote out her proposals. She had some good ideas but converting them to words were not easy. Shu Yan went through a few iterations and still felt that something was missing.
Shu Yan finally completed a version that she was somewhat happy with at 1 AM.
“You wrote this?” Hu Ruixue looked at Shu Yan in disbelief. Never mind about the pretty hand writing. The proposal was also very nice. Not even an everyday college student could have written this, so how did Shu Yan, a woman who did not even graduate grade school, was able to do this?
Shu Yan paused for a second. She had forgotten about that one. Smiling lightly, she said, “Of course I wasn’t able to write this myself. I recited it verbally and had someone else wrote it down for me.”
Hu Ruixue was more convinced then. She read the proposal in details and, the farther she got, the brighter her eyes.
“You are a genius. I trust that we will well-known over a very short period of time if we use this .” Hu Ruixue wished she could have someone start on it right away.
“We probably should have a professional look it over first and see if there is anywhere that might need changes. I am an amateur after all,” said Shu Yan, not too certain about herself.
“Your amateur work is better than many professionals.” Hu Ruixue had been looking through some proposals in the last few days and they were all very generic. Nothing compared to Shu Yan’s. “As for the actor that we are going to use in your proposal, do you have someone in mind?”
Shu Yan shook her head. There was no cellphone or computer right now and she didn’t watch television or read the newspaper. She truly didn’t know of any stars.
“I don’t know any stars, but since we are doing fall tops and pants, we can look for star couples.” As they have both men and women styles, they might as well make it a couple outfit.
Hu Ruixue clapped her hands. “Ah, now that you’ve said that, I just thought of a couple that might be good candidates. They are quite popular right now. I’ll have someone reach out to them and see if we can get something going.”
Other than the matters on the , Hu Ruixue showed Shu Yan the newest design of sleepwear and casual clothes from the designers.
Hmmm, how could she put it? They were too conservative in Shu Yan’s eyes.
“Why are they all plain colors? I feel that we can totally use bright colors. And we can use more patterns on the sleepwear as well.” It didn’t matter what period of time they were in, women still liked to be pretty. “Our demographics are women between the age of 18 to 50, so they can’t be too plain.”
“I am with you on that.” Hu Ruixue came from a wealthy family and many of her clothes were international brands. That included sleepwear. Comparing to oversea brands, the ones domestically still leaned on the conservative side. “That is exactly why I wanted to launch my own brand. Our country has so much history and so much dazzling cultural remains, we should not let the foreigners beat us on this realm either.”
“One step at a time, okay?” Shu Yan knew that Hu Ruixue was ambitious, but that was even more ambitious than she had imagined.
An international brand was pa.s.sed down for generations. It was no easy feat.
