In the sweetest month of the year for some people, Meixu had a chance encounter with s.h.i.+ Qiao who in a part of her heart, has been regretting dumping him.

Meixu attended Actress Yangmei's birthday party in the middle of May along with other high-profile celebrities and big businessmen.

It turned out that s.h.i.+ Qiao was a relative of Yangmei which was a shock to Meixu who wouldn't stop gazing at him after Yangmei officially introduced him to some of her friends in the industry after he came up to greet her.

After leaving the circle, Meixu went to have a drink somewhere by herself when s.h.i.+ Qiao walked up to her.

"You looked shocked to see me here tonight." s.h.i.+ Qiao said with a slight smile as he came to stand beside her with his hands in his front trouser pockets.

Meixu heard the familiar voice and turned to glance at him.

"It's nice to see you again." Meixu said with an ugly smile. She couldn't believe that s.h.i.+ Qiao would be present at today's party and that he would somehow be related to Yangmei.

s.h.i.+ Qiao sat on the stool next to her and said, "Are you sure it's nice to see me again because your countenance says otherwise."

"My countenance it's not for you to mind. I am already shocked learning that you are related to Sister Yangmei." Meixu said to him.

"And does that bother you?" s.h.i.+ Qiao quickly asked as he continued to gaze at her.

Meixu scoffed and picked up her wine gla.s.s. "Why would it bother me, it's not like there is any relations.h.i.+p between us." After saying that, she drank the whole content of her wine gla.s.s before placing an order for another one.

"Meixu, I still don't understand the reason you dumped me. I mean, I was your friend but you decided to end our friends.h.i.+p after I had already apologized for Zhi Ruo's ill-treatment against you."

"Are you dumb or something? Don't tell me you had no idea I got close to you to deal with Zhi Ruo?" Meixu asked with a frown.

s.h.i.+ Qiao was quiet but he didn't seem to be surprised by her confession. After studying his unchanging gaze, Meixu's frown deepened. "You already knew?"

"Is that a surprise to you? Look Meixu, I'm not dumb as you thought. I knew you had discords with s.h.i.+ Qiao and I guessed that you might want to get close to me in order to get back at my ex. To my surprise, you approached me in a different way. I thought you would try to seduce me so I will dump Zhi Ruo and date you but you approached me as a friend." s.h.i.+ Qiao said with a smile.

Meixu was really surprised by this revelation. She had no idea that he had always known her plans for getting close to him but he chose to remain quiet. His past actions made her look like a fool because he already knew her plans but acted as if he was ignorant of them all. This got Meixu really angry.

With an angry gaze directed at him, Meixu asked, "Are you saying that you knew my plans all along and kept quiet about it? What did you take me for?"

"Hey... Don't tell me you're angry. When I found out about your intentions, I wasn't angry, I only found it interesting but now, after revealing the truth to you, you are angry? Did you forget I was a human being when you wanted to use me to achieve your goals?" s.h.i.+ Qiao asked with a frown.

"Still, that doesn't give you the right to make fun of me. You already knew about my intentions when I approached you but you chose not to speak up or expose me and that shows that it was well situated by you." Meixu said in a raised tone.

s.h.i.+ Qiao nodded and said, "I know that your pride would be hurt when you learn of this because after all, you had a well thought out plan there. Actually, I don't hold any grudges against you because I genuinely welcomed your plans and I liked you. I thought you liked me as well but to my surprise, you ended our friends.h.i.+p after your plans worked out. Don't you think that you are in the wrong for using people and dumping them after achieving your goals?"

"Who are you to teach me what is wrong and right?" Meixu asked with an ugly facial expression. Meixu was still angry after finding out that her plans were found out the moment her game started. She thought she was taken as a fool by s.h.i.+ Qiao because he watched her play by herself even after knowing her intentions.

This situation didn't sit well with her. She didn't even care about the feelings she was starting to develop for him after learning about this. At this moment with the way she was feeling, she didn't want to ever set her eyes on him again.

"I guess your pride must be really hurt. I just wanted to tell you the truth because I don't want to keep secrets from you since I already have in mind of having a fresh start with you." s.h.i.+ Qiao said.

Meixu's facial expression turned more ugly when she heard him say he wanted them to have a fresh start. "Who do you want to have a fresh start with?" She asked with a glare.

"With you of course. I never saw you as a friend the moments we spent together but I respected your decision. It's been a long time since we ended our past relations.h.i.+p, so why don't we start afresh with another relations.h.i.+p? This time around, not as friends but as lovers?" s.h.i.+ Qiao asked with a serious gaze.

His intentions were pure and clear. He liked Meixu and would like to be together with her but it looks like his intentions didn't sit well with her.

Meixu at the moment, looked as if she would murder him anytime soon.

"Mr. s.h.i.+, I think we should stay away from each other from now henceforth. If we are going through the same route, there would be no need for pleasantries.." Fu Meixu said and walked away from his sight.
